The “nation of immigrants” rhetoric is rarely part of a fully formed thought or constructive observation; it’s more of a pleasant noise. In that way, the “nation of immigrants” claptrap rhymes along with the “diversity is a strength” mantra. Like many clichés, these phrases are repeated so often that their meaning is totally lost, if there ever was any.
The nation of immigrants that we once were has been changed. The nation we once were has been disunited by multiculturalism, racial grievances, and class warfare. In response, we must stop admitting people to this nation who will contribute to tribalism and the welfare state.
The “nation of immigrants” mantra is often a plea for compassion toward immigrants. The phrase reflects a desperate, well-meaning desire to rationalize the presence of people who are violating our laws and patronizing the welfare system. The trouble is that repeating a phrase does nothing to enforce our law, preserve our culture, or keep the welfare-state Leviathan at bay.
It’s party time for the welfare colonists moonbats are importing to displace the population of Australia:
Asylum seekers in Indonesia have swung into party mode and labelled [left-wing Prime Minister] Julia Gillard a “hero” after learning they will receive welfare payments and rent assistance should they make it to Australia by boat.
At least the U.S. has the First Amendment and the second to enforce it. But when Obama came out against the ‘bitter clingers’ and said “we’re working on it under the radar”, the alarm bells should have gone off left right and centre. It doesn’t take much to turn your world upside down:
Robert Spencer, “all it takes is five judges on the Supreme Court and the First Amendment can be effectively defanged.”–Read more »
The good news is that the Netherlands came out against this OIC-UN instigated speech criminalisation. Lets hope others follow:
In these days of draconian political correctness, neurotic anti-hate speech laws and dictatorial human rights police, I have sometimes fretted that the western tradition of free speech is in jeopardy.
No doubt it is, in some quarters at least. Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan wants “Islamophobia” declared as “a crime against humanity” and “international legal regulations against attacks on what people deem sacred.”
LABOR MPs this week didn’t simply force an unwilling Julia Gillard to betray Israel at the United Nations. They forced the Prime Minister to change our foreign policy to win Muslim votes in Labor’s Sydney seats.
“Demographically challenged” Polit Whores:
“Many MPs in western Sydney, who are already fearful of losing their seats, are coming under pressure from constituents with a Middle East background.”
Media reports have focused on how Gillard was humiliated by most of her ministers and backbenchers when she tried to insist on voting in the UN against granting state observer status to the Palestinian Authority.
Catholic priest Father Jonathan Morris (who is said to be a collective salvation, social justice priest) told the hosts of “Fox & Friends Weekend” that they looked “so angry about this ‘War on Christmas.’”
“If there’s a small town in the United States that is 90 percent Muslim, they should have the right at their courthouse to have an expression of their Islamic faith, absolutely, for sure,” he said. “The courts have said as long as we’re not establishing one religion or another, the free exercise of religion – the other clause – needs to be protected, and that means allowing people to have public expressions of their belief.”
Haniyeh, feeling flush with victory, steps up his demands. He no doubt knows that Barack Obama is the one president who might actually be disposed to do this, Hamas’s ongoing terror activity notwithstanding. “‘Remove Hamas from list of terrorist organizations,'” by Khaled Abu Toameh in the Jerusalem Post,
Fact is that any Palestinian Arab involved in the investigation is automatically suspect – because the PLO has publicly called Arafat’s death a “murder” for years. The result will be made to suit the narrative.
“When Operation Pillar of Defense began on Nov. 14, Palestinian terrorists in the Gaza Strip knew that the IDF was trying to target them. That might explain why on Nov. 19, four senior Palestinian Islamic Jihad operatives took over an office on the second floor of a civilian media building in Gaza — where major international news networks were located — and used it as a meeting place.”
Yesterday, Obama-approved Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood president Mohammed Morsi declared that he would have a referendum on December 15 to greenlight the newly rammed-through draft constitution that enshrines Shariah law in Egypt.
The a-sexual daughter of a shiite from Iran proves what she’s made of:
In an affront to religious Jews and religious Christians everywhere, ABC News has chosen vehemently anti-Israel and anti-Christian journalist Christiane Amanpour to host a two-part primetime special about the history of the land of Israel that will air December 21 and 28. According to ABC, “Back to the Beginning” will feature Amanpour, who will “explore the powerful stories from Genesis to the Birth of Jesus.”
Vast swaths of the American public regard the Wall Street Journal as one of the last bastions of conservatism and a strong supporter of Israel. This perspective is flawed; the op-ed page is consistently conservative and supports Israel, but the news pages are as liberal and sometimes as biased against Israel as the New York Times.
CNN has the solution for the Middle Eastern turmoil that has flared anew over the last month or so between the terrorists of Hamas and Israel: Israel should drop that whole “they are terrorists” thing and recognize Hamas as a legitimate government player and negotiate directly with them.
Will the Islamophobia never end? “Suspected Islamists kill Christians, burn homes in Nigeria,” from AGI, December 2 (thanks to JW):
(AGI) – Maiduguri (Nigeria), Dec. 2 – Suspected Boko Haram militants killed 10 Christians and burned their homes in the village of Chibok in northeast Nigeria, police sources report. The massacre is not directly linked to the burning of three churches in Gamboru on Saturday night in Bornu State, which caused the death of two police officers. These attacks are aimed at increasing tensions between Christians and Muslims.
This is a separate jihad attack from the one reported here; that one was in Chibok, this one was in Gamboru Ngala.
“Churches, government buildings torched in Nigeria attack,” from AGI, December 2 (thanks to JW):
(AGI) – Kano (Nigeria), Dec. 2 – At least two people were killed when three churches and border posts were attacked by armed men, possibly Boko Haram militants, in Gamboru Ngala, on Nigeria’s north-eastern border with Cameroon at 8:30 a.m. Local sources report that about 50 armed men shouting “Allah Akbar!” (God is great!) in cars and on motorcycles, opened fire on police officers. Immigration, customs, secret police headquarters and a building used for quarantine were set on fire. Sani Kani, a local inhabitant, said, “I saw two bodies of policemen in uniform not far from the police station. One was in the street and the other was on the seat of a van.” The town of Gamboru Ngala is about 40 km from the Boko Haram stronghold of Maiduguri.
