How To Disarm Good People: here you can learn how its done. Works like a charm, for our enemies.
“We are oppressed, persecuted people. We’re a minority. We’re under siege. We are wrongly accused. We’re victims of bigotry, hatred, and Islamophobia….”
When perps claim victimhood:
IN THE BOOK, The Sociopath Next Door, Martha Stout says something really interesting. Her book is about normal, everyday sociopaths (also known by the somewhat outdated term, “psychopath”). In other words, the book is not about serial killers, but about the neighbor who drives you crazy, the spouse who seems dedicated to making your life miserable, the cruel, unfeeling boss, etc.
A sociopath is someone who feels no empathy for other human beings. The consequences of this lack are enormous. These people are, in many ways, not recognizably human. And there is no cure for sociopathy. It is not caused by upbringing. Therapy only makes them worse.
About two percent of the population is sociopathic, and those who are in a relationship with a sociopath need to understand what makes sociopaths tick. The more you know, the less likely you are to be fooled, used, or destroyed by a sociopath.
But Martha Stout said something interesting for us here in our conversation about Islam. She wrote about the techniques sociopaths use to exploit people around them. Sociopaths use people. And there is one thing experienced sociopaths use more than anything else because it works so well with normal people. Their ultra-effective weapon is to evoke pity. Stout wrote:
The most reliable sign, the most universal behavior of unscrupulous people is not directed, as one might imagine, at our fearfulness. It is, perversely, an appeal to our sympathy.
I first learned this when I was still a graduate student in psychology and had the opportunity to interview a court-referred patient the system had already identified as a “psychopath.” He was not violent, preferring instead to swindle people out of their money with elaborate investment scams. Intrigued by this individual and what could possibly motivate him…I asked, “What is important to you in your life? What do you want more than anything else?” I thought he might say “getting money,” or “staying out of jail,” which were the activities to which he devoted most of his time. Instead, without a moment’s hesitation, he replied, “Oh, that’s easy. What I like better than anything else is when people feel sorry for me. The thing I really want more than anything else out of life is people’s pity.”
I was astonished, and more than a little put off. I think I would have liked him better if he had said “staying out of jail,” or even “getting money.” Also, I was mystified. Why would this man — why would anyone — wish to be pitied, let alone wish to be pitied above all other ambitions? I could not imagine. But now, after twenty-five years of listening to victims, I realize there is an excellent reason for the sociopathic fondness for pity. As obvious as the nose on one’s face, and just as difficult to see without the help of a mirror, the explanation is that good people will let pathetic individuals get by with murder, so to speak, and therefore any sociopath wishing to continue with his game, whatever it happens to be, should play repeatedly for none other than pity.
More than admiration — more even than fear — pity from good people is carte blanche. When we pity, we are, at least for the moment, defenseless, and like so many of the other positive human characteristics that bind us together in groups…our emotional vulnerability when we pity is used against us…
The reason I thought that was interesting and relevant is that pity is one of the most common techniques orthodox Muslims use, and it is the main reason they’ve been able to get away with as much as they have so far. They exploit the egalitarian, multiculturalist, good-hearted nature of non-Muslims. They evoke pity and then use our own kindness and our desire to “get along with others” against us.
I was just reading the book, Tripoli: The United States’ First War on Terror. The ruler of Tripoli had been seizing U.S. merchant ships, adding the ship to his own fleet, keeping the contents of the ship, and selling the captured sailors into slavery. It was a very lucrative pirating business. The U.S. wanted Tripoli to stop it, of course. The ruler of Tripoli said, “Sure, we’ll stop attacking your ships if you pay us tribute every year.”
So for awhile the U.S. paid the tribute because they were a new country and had no navy to speak of, and they wanted to continue with their overseas trade. But the ruler of Tripoli decided the tribute they had agreed to wasn’t enough, so he demanded more and when he didn’t get it, he started seizing U.S. ships again.
Meanwhile, the U.S. was frantically building a navy, and by this time had enough warships to put up a fight, so they did. Suddenly Tripoli’s ruler wanted to talk peace. But in the negotiations, the man negotiating on behalf of the ruler asked for a gift of money. The U.S. said no, absolutely not. The U.S. said basically, “You have not been fair in any way and have only acted as our enemy, and no, we will not pay you to stop the fighting.”
Then Tripoli’s negotiator tried to appeal to pity: “But Tripoli is very poor,” he pleaded. “she cannot subsist without the generosity of her friends; give something then on the score of charity.” In this case, Tripoli had already established a poor reputation with the Americans, so the pity plea did not work. But even after the U.S. negotiator said no, Tripoli’s negotiator tried to make the U.S. negotiator feel guilty for not feeling pity. He asked, basically, “You say you want peace but you won’t give this gift of charity to obtain the peace?”
Islam uses the pity plea anywhere it can. Mohammad used it, Muslims in Tripoli were using it, and Muslims today are still at it. In their dealings with powerful non-Muslims, the basic stance of Islam is: “We are an oppressed, persecuted people. We’re a minority. We’re under siege. We are wrongly accused. We’re the victims of bigotry, hatred, and Islamophobia.” And if they can’t find anything to point to that proves their oppression, they literally create something (click here for an example).
It’s like a game they are playing, except this is a game with very serious consequences. A single sociopath using the appeal to pity can completely ruin the lives of many people. And this is, of course, nothing compared with what orthodox Muslims have done. They’ve killed over 270 million people since they started. They’ve ruined even more lives, and they are affecting the lives and livelihoods of billions of us today.
I would like to spend my time working on productive, positive, life-affirming activities. Instead, I am spending many hours of my short time here on earth trying to stop the insidious Islamic encroachment, reading and writing about things I wish didn’t exist. It’s an upsetting topic. It’s disturbing. But the consequences of ignoring it are even worse, so I devote a large portion of my life to it.
And, of course, I’m not alone. Each of us has been influenced in hundreds of ways we don’t even know about by the third jihad (and the first two jihads).
It’s important to understand how they are Islamizing the free world so successfully. One of the most effective techniques they use is the appeal to pity. The good news is that as soon as you see the appeal for what it is, the game is over, the magic disappears, the trance is lifted.
The above is an excerpt from the book, Getting Through: How to Talk to Non-Muslims About the Disturbing Nature of Islam by Citizen Warrior.

Everything written is exactly true. Muslims play the victim card so often that they look like fools.
Sadly they have fooled the entire left. Which is beyond illogical. Feminists and Gays side with the left and side with the Muslims who would without mercy kill them first chance they got.
I must state though, while it might not make sense to most here, for many reasons I find myself aligned with the stated ideals of the Left (not the current reality of the Left though).
My views on foreign policy brought me into the fold of the Right. Though is has been a constant fight nonstop for the past decade.
While the Right is correct for the most part on foreign policy it is right a lot of the time for the wrong reasons. ( those wrong reasons is Christianity) The Right is correct about economics, though I think it is misunderstanding of welfare to a point.
As an Iraq OIF, Afghanistan OEF, and OEF HOA/TSA (Horn of Africa, Trans-Saharan Africa) veteran who was almost killed, and had my Military career ended my only source of income is VA Disability and perhaps SSID which I recently filed for.
While antiwar Leftists hate me for my military service, Right wing economists despise me because I will be on disability for the rest of my life and am only 36. It is a no win situation I have dealt with since I got injured. I have been attacked by both the Left and Right about this many times. Perhaps you are a Conservative and support my situation that is great and I thank you for the moral support but alas still other Conservatives have attacked me for it. Since it is such a personal and life consuming (whether I like it or not) I cannot just lay it aside. Though it does make me reconsider things when my supposed allies (Conservatives who supported the war and support the troops) are so easily to name call, attack, and just be nasty concerning my physical problems. It has eroded trust, and creates bitterness and isolationism as defense tactics.
The other thing, and biggest thing that finds me at odds with the Conservative Right is that I am and always been an Atheist. It is this issue that I have been attacked by Conservatives the most vicious, the most vile, and seem to bring out their deepest hatreds when I disagree with them about an issue.
Islam is a huge problem, from Jihad to fundamentalism. Islam is a religion. Conservative Christians make claims that “America is a Christian country” (which it is not except perhaps if your defination of it is simply population) but politics wise America is a secular Republic where we are all free to practice our religions, or lack of religion. This seems to be such a sticking point with some on the Right that I cannot consider those individuals my allies.
After 10+ years of these and other types of vicious attacks along with disagreements on issues I am at a crossroads to where I can no longer say I am a Conservative.
I am not trying to start a debate. I am only just trying to inform those on the Right of my feelings on these matters. I hope for understanding and civil discourse if anything at all.
Psychopaths routinely use pity to manipulate their victims & get their way, so do muslims. If it looks like a duck & walks like a duck……guess what? It’s a duck.
One of my favourite books is “Beware of Pity” by Stefan Zweig. I wish everyone would read it and learn from it.

First, Sailor. Thank you for your service and for serving your country.
I think their maybe an misunderstanding of welfare and conservatives.
You said, “Right wing economists despise me because I will be on disability for the rest of my life and am only 36.”
Second, I can assure, and I can dare be so bold to speak collectively for the conservatives, that not one single person of the right, begrudges YOU your disability. The vast majority of the conservatives that I have met/know believe that our governments do not do enough for our military. I am talking about those that have served and our still serving right now.
So, stop. Just, stop right there with the thinking that the Conservatives resents paying your disability. It is simply not true. We do not, nor have we EVER resented giving our money over to care for our ex-service men.
We simply do not like governments waste and fraud that occurs in all levels of government.
It is not you. military veterans, that conservatives begrudge and resent. It is the feckless, the ne’erdowells, the wastrels…the moocher class; that we do not like…and rightfully so!
We are referring to the people in our societies, who have done nothing, give nothing , do not believe in work, or paying for their own way in life. We do not like moochers who expect, us the producers to give away our labor (our time) and our (our toil) wealth to someone else, who has no connection to us. The intangible, that once is taken from us can never be regained.
We are referring to people (moochers) who are more then happy to use force against us, the producers via the government to pay for their way in life. Their one purpose in life is to steal someone else’s wealth and labor to have a comfortable existence. And they are content to create a parent/ child relationship via welfare with the state in exchange for someone else to give them a home, a mobile phone, a car and spending money. In return, the moochers will give the Looters their vote so they can keep getting their allowance.
Essentially, we are referring to able bodied people, that are gaming the system for what they erroneously call free money. It is not free. Some one else pays. That someone else, is us the tax payer. We must pay on threat of imprisonment and confiscation of all that we have sacrificed and labored for over the years to the government.
So, when your next check comes Sailor, be at peace and know that we do not resent to you, your check. With a heavy heart we are aware what you have sacrificed much for us to be free (may we stay, thus so). Our only regret is we are unable to give you more.
-H.

Why did you come here? Is this a farewell tour for you on what you believe to be a conservative site? Because if is critical of Islam?
You said, “Islam is a huge problem, from Jihad to fundamentalism. Islam is a religion. Conservative Christians make claims that “America is a Christian country” (which it is not except perhaps if your defination of it is simply population) but politics wise America is a secular Republic where we are all free to practice our religions, or lack of religion. This seems to be such a sticking point with some on the Right.”
You statement is all over the place. You start off talking about Islam. Whether or not it is a religion or a political ideology posing as a religion is debatable. But, the revelation of your true intent in your statement is reflected in your angst towards Christianity. Your brief reference to Islam is but, a slight of hand, a deflection to allow you to create a leap to your main goal, Christianity.
If you are so confident in your belief as an Atheist, why bother engaging with people that you know, you will fundamentally disagree? And then feel wronged when they did not agree with you?
“America is a Christian country” Well, what does that statement mean to you? What do you mean by population? You said, “which it is not except perhaps if your defination of it is simply population”? America’s population; over 73% define themselves as Christian. Does not one’s population makes up the citizenry of it’s country?
Sorry, but by that statement alone, you have answered your own question.
Is a America largely a Hindu country? Is it a Zoroastrian country? Is it Islamic? Spiritually speaking where does America’s historical roots lie? Does America’s historical roots via religion lie in any of the afore mentioned religions?
As a reminder to America’s historical spiritual roots, I would urge you to reread the Declaration of Independence. Specifically the introduction and the closing.
You said, “politics wise America is a secular Republic” Actually, politically, America is what ever is prudent for the candidate to garner the most amount of votes, at the moment. Hence, you will find Nancy Pelosi whoring herself out to Catholics at a Catholic conference and share what her favorite word is. Or Wasserman -Schultz show up at Jewish events to discuss how on board her party is with Israel. Just fill in the religion/culture/nationality at that particular moment. Politics is not about religion. It is about money and power and who can be the most believable whore.
Who in the United States, in the year 2012 is not allowed to practice their religion? Please cite examples.
IMHO, I think you are confusing and blurring multiple aspects of Criticism and in the scope of this website, the criticism of Islam.
I look forward to your reply.
Oops.
That should read, “Because it is critical of Islam?”
SOME “Feminists and Gays side with the left and side with the Muslims”
Please, not all of us are that stupid. Unfortunately, many gays and feminists have represented the underdog so long that they take the side of anyone else taking the underdog pose, they feel it is better to believe than doubt the oppression.
Hell, when a man moans that his wife won’t let him see their daughter alone, feminists get sloppy instead of finding out why this women is so adamant.
@ITC(FMF/AW/SW) Baker USN
‘All’ conservatives don’t think of veterans such as yourself as moochers or bludgers if anything this (me) ‘conservative’ has no problems supporting such people as yourself. If need be for life and I totally agree that our Governements should do a hell of a lot more to help you fellers. You’ve done your time, you’ve suffered for your patriotism and now you should feel secure and helped.
Personally I have a problem with the leeches of society that have not nor ever will contribute to anything other than their own lifestyle, those people receive every bit of my wrath. Unfortunately as the years go on there seems to be more and more who believe that the World owes them a living.
I’m more than happy to stand by lads such as you, hold your head high. The others treat you the way they do because they will NEVER amount to anything, ever. You’ve surpassed them.
Rest easy mate.
I know Conservatives who are firmly atheist. That only worries me to the extent that they are so proud of it, thinking it shows how enlightened they are; and also because their “enlightenment” blurs their minds to the threat of Islam. In their pride they assert that Muslims will settle down and become proper little atheists once they have been in australia for a while and soaked up the vibe and enjoyed the prosperity. They are naive in their own way.
This pity-ploy is also known as victimology – the liberals’ favorite tactic!
It’s an excuse for crime and evil: “There is no real crime, nor any real criminals, because we’re really all only helpless victims anyway! Whee!”
This is also the idolatry of islam:
“The allah made us do it!” “God told us to commit these crimes!”
(Capisce?)!
PS: @ITC(FMF/AW/SW) Baker USN – STOP ACTING LIKE SUCH A VICTIM!!!!
Well, I believe in God, though I am not a member of any organized religion. Many religions have crimes in their past, but Islam seems to be the only one that still will resort to violence and murder to convert people to their religion. And is willing to murder apostates. They kill each other over being sunni or shiite, and will continue to do so no matter what we do. Pull out the military forces of civilized nations, and let them go back to killing each other. Their culture has been this way for a long time, and will never change. Tribal culture trumps intelligence or civilization in these countries. Let them stew in their own cesspool of ignorance.
