Scary: ex-David Cameron speech writer claims Muslims are just like Catholics…

Old myths are turbocharged by the internet and social media, waxes Ian Birrell, but: We have nothing to fear from our Muslim citizens

Just drink enough kool aid and kumbaya juice, and all will be well:

In time, today’s Islamophobia will appear as archaic as Gladstone’s anti-Catholicism. The census also shows a sharp rise in mixed marriages, the ultimate test of integration.

Birrell seems to be totally clueless. He doesn’t understand the first thing about these “mixed marriages”.

A Muslim man is allowed to marry a Christian woman, but a Christian man is not permitted to marry a Muslim woman.

This is no different from the situation of those Catholics who fled poverty in Ireland or the Jews escaping pogroms in Eastern Europe — today their successful descendants are woven seamlessly into the fabric of the nation.

Across society, bile against Muslims is the acceptable bigotry —Baroness Warsi, the Tory minister, was right to round on its dinner-party respectability last year.

Birrell rattles the bones of Sir William Gladstone:

In time, today’s Islamophobia will appear as archaic as Gladstone’s anti-Catholicism.

Gladstone, a devout Christian, was no liberal when it came to Muslims either. He once called the Koran an “accursed book” and, holding it up in Parliament, declared there would never be peace in the world so long as it existed. The sooner he is proved wrong on this count too, the better for us all.

I won’t be holding my breath. Birrell is wrong on all counts. Its hard to believe such creatures exist this day and age.

Try to add to the discussion, don't try to sell snake oil, don't try to cover us with Islamic shrouds of kitman and taqiyya, don't bother with da'awa, (we've heard it before) don't spam us with long pieces of cut & paste, write in English, try to tell the truth, (we know that's hard for you because you are all pathological liars) but the truth will set you free, try it! One more thing: don't think you can post here under multiple monikers. You will quickly be disappeared! The same goes for trufers and conspiracy kooks: you get one chance, one time. Blow it out of your ass if you must; put your stupidity on display. But you won't be back, trust me on that. Not really. Most of the political classes lived very sheltered and privileged existence.

I would wager his run ins with the savage hoards let into England en mass (Thanks T. Blair) are rare to none. And not too many in his neighbourhood, either.
