The Only Way to Stop a Gun is With a Gun

by sheikyermami on December 16, 2012

Update:

“The Sandy Hook school was a gun-free zone,”

… and ‘gun free zones’ are DEFENCE-FREE ZONES

It’s not about ending crime, or stopping violence. It’s about control. Controlling unarmed citizens is easier than controlling someone who can fight back.

Sure, many lefties really do believe that gun control laws will help. They also believe that a bigger government with the power to order its citizens around somehow means that those citizens have more freedoms than under a small government that has little power over the people.

That’s why they’re called useful idiots. They lack the ability to think things through logically.

“After a shooting spree,” author William Burroughs once said, “they always want to take the guns away from the people who didn’t do it.” Burroughs continued: “I sure as hell wouldn’t want to live in a society where the only people allowed guns are the police and the military.”

Pamela Geller:

Guns stop shootings. Not all the time and not every time, but they do. Gun control does not. Media coverage calling for gun control does not.  Gun crime was up 35 percent in the UK which has harsh gun control laws. And Europe has had plenty of its own school massacres.

The Aussie Lesson: Less Guns, More Crime

We would be wise to see the timelessness of George Washington’s often quoted phrase, a ”free people ought…to be armed.” In so doing we grasp the larger lesson that the ability to defend ourselves is part and parcel to our freedom.

The second we are unarmed we are likewise no longer free.

THE ONLY WAY TO STOP A MAN WITH A GUN IS WITH A GUN

Daniel Greenfield:

America now has its second worst mass shooting. And it, as usual, accompanied by calls for gun control. It’s no coincidence that we have had quite a few spree killings in such a short time. The lavish coverage of every shooting by the media encourages every shooter to think that he will be famous if he goes out and kills. And that is exactly what happens.

Our shooters are creatures of the media, not the NRA. A media that turns killers into celebrities and then warns that the only way to stop more shootings is by cracking down on firearms.

But no amount of media coverage ever stopped a man with a gun. It only encouraged him. It takes a gun to stop a man with a gun. That is the hard truth of human affairs. It is why we have a Second Amendment, it is why we have armies and police, and it is why people own guns.

There is no going back to a time before people owned guns. There is no going back to a time when violence did not exist. There is only the reality that killers stalk the streets and that we can either defend against them or take comfort in empty outrage.

Guns stop shootings. Not all the time and not every time, but they do. Gun control does not. Media coverage calling for gun control does not.

Gun crime was up 35 percent in the UK which has harsh gun control laws. And Europe has had plenty of its own school massacres.

“Figures showed the number of crimes involving handguns had more than doubled since the post-Dunblane massacre ban on the weapons, from 2,636 in 1997-1998 to 5,871.”

Thomas Hamilton killed 16 children in the Dunblane school massacre in 1996 using 4 handguns. In Germany, in the Winnenden school shooting in 2009, Tim Kretschmer, killed 16 people, including 9 students. In the Erfurt massacre in 2002, Robert Steinhäuser killed 16 people with a handgun and a shotgun. In Finland, in the Jokela school shooting of 2007, Pekka-Eric Auvinen killed 8 people. In the Kauhajoki school shooting, Matti Juhani Saari killed 10 people. The media will pretend that this sort of thing only happens in America. It doesn’t only happen in America. It happens where killings do.Gun control isn’t about putting an end to horrors, it’s about controlling people. And people who are used to being controlled have even less ability to cope with the uncontrolled and the uncontrollable.Regulators think about the big picture. They don’t think about the individual. They think only about how to control people who follow rules. But shooters, by definition, do not follow rules. They are men who have stepped outside the system and care nothing for its rules. They want to kill, and they will find a way. And when they come, the only way to stop a gun is with a gun.

Too small? Click here This is a satirical website. None of what you read here has anything to do with Islam, because Islam is a Religion of Peace. Everybody knows that good Muslims never do the things they do, (because Allah does it for them, Quran 8:12) and we know that only our misperceptions, ignorance and stereotyping of Islam makes Muslims chop off heads, kill and rape women and children, bomb subways, buses, nightclubs and fly jets into buildings. If it wasn't for the media and da Jooozzz, we wouldn't even know its happening. We welcome open, honest, thoughtful, and vigorous discussion in the comments threads, so do yourself a favour and don't accuse us of being 'haters' because we are loving, tolerant people. Don't curse us, don't threaten us with death or hellfire, and don't accuse us of being "just like the terrorists" because we don't do to Muslims what they do to us or to themselves. Yes, we know that only idiots oppose Islam and sensible people submit, but  you should know that we are ignorant bigots, hypocrites and Islamophobes, and we prefer to remain that way... But since you are forcing yourselves (and your abhorrent belief-system on us) we will defend ourselves, because we must. Avoid tu quoque and ad hominem attacks. Don't bother with circular reasoning either, we been there, done it.  If you annoy us, you will be banned and your posts summarily deleted. Try to add to the discussion, don't try to sell snake oil, don't try to cover us with Islamic shrouds of kitman and taqiyya, don't bother with da'awa, (we've heard it before) don't spam us with long pieces of cut & paste, write in English, try to tell the truth, (we know that's hard for you because you are all pathological liars) but the truth will set you free, try it! One more thing: don't think you can post here under multiple monikers. You will quickly be disappeared! The same goes for trufers and conspiracy kooks: you get one chance, one time. Blow it out of your ass if you must; put your stupidity on display. But you won't be back, trust me on that. Take a deep breath before you post, try to make some sense, do not just vent, do not make a fool of yourself and if you prove us wrong you can earn 10 Islamic dollars for your piggy bank. Deal?

what’s the big deal? all those murdered kids are in a better place now anyway..

dsinc December 16, 2012 at 8:11 am

atheist, that’s the dumbest comment I have seen for a long time.

Hill December 16, 2012 at 6:18 pm

@atheist,

You should not presume to know other peoples lives.

“all those murdered kids are in a better place now anyway”

If you mean, your statement out of physical suffering during this horrendous ordeal? Agreed.

But, if you mean your statement out of cynicism? How can you be sure or know?

Our “atheist” was probably mocking his village priest who said things like that at funerals. Since he could never get any proof of this ‘better place’ he has turned into a mad hater of Christians.

Hill December 16, 2012 at 10:01 pm

@sheik,

I missed the sarcasm.

” a mad hater of Christians”

Well, I hope that atheist is democratic in his contempt and spreads his contempt across the spectrum of religious diversity.

atheist December 17, 2012 at 8:16 am

don’t worry Hill, I do

atheist December 17, 2012 at 8:20 am

@sheik..
mad hater or Xtians? you know very well that I hate all religions equally..

kaw December 17, 2012 at 8:31 am

atheist,
There is no excuse in using the death of these children to further whatever point of view you are trying to disseminate. Please do not do this again. They are gone, their families are in pain, and cheap shots( at whatever your target is) using these people is both inappropriate and in rather poor taste.

sheikyermami December 17, 2012 at 10:53 am

Its an idiotic thing to say “I hate all religions equally”.

Christianity is not ‘Xtian’, its the culture and the historical foundation of the society we live in. It is a Mohammedan thing to denigrate Christianity to ‘Xtianism’, for that reason alone everyone should reject it; nobody should even sink to that level.

Nobody knows all religions ‘equally’, one can only hate what one assumes to know, and knowledge doesn’t go very deep in a society that doesn’t even teach its own history.

Our culture, our civilisation is a million times better than the retarded Islamic cult, which doesn’t even acknowledge the rights of the individual. Even a lapsed Christian and the most leftarded Jew who believes in a socialist utopia should understand that. For without understanding that, we have no future. (under Islam, that is.)

atheist December 17, 2012 at 12:18 pm

ok.. i’ll admit it …. i hate islam a little bit more than i hate Xtianity/judaism and other religions mainly because islam is a poor attempt at plagiarising the worst of the old testament …
the similarities are quite scary to say the least..
here is one of my favourites about eating pork
(Deuteronomy 14:8) ‘And the pig is unclean to you, because though it has a division in the horn of its foot, its food does not come back; their flesh may not be used for food or their dead bodies touched by you.’
( Quran 5:3) ‘Forbidden to you is that which dies of itself, and blood, and flesh of swine…’

at least buddhism doesn’t have crazy shit like this
