Muslims call for changes over port terror searches

Muslims in Greater Manchester are calling for changes to the Terrorism Act which allows passengers to be stopped and searched at airports.
A letter signed by several organisations has been sent to the Home Office highlighting concerns over religious profiling.
Why would you search this?
Representatives from mosques and Islamic human rights groups claim some people are detained but never charged.
They want shorter detention times and more intelligence-led policing.
The campaign also wants no DNA samples to be taken from anyone who has not been charged with an offence.
One black Muslim convert, who is in his forties, has been stopped four times at Manchester and at other UK airports as he returned from visits to Indonesia, Lebanon and Egypt.
He went to Indonesia to get married and to the other two countries to study.
He said: “It’s humiliating when other passengers see that you have been detained and have had your passport taken off you.
“It’s degrading. As far as I’m concerned I’m not a threat to this country, I’m just going about my personal business.
“When I asked why I had been stopped the first time, I was told I fit the profile of someone who is a terrorist.
“Today it’s the Muslims, a long time ago it was the Irish. I think it’s quite horrendous that I’m stopped every time I come back to this country.”
Solicitor Nasir Hafezi, who has represented faith leaders accused of terrorism-related offences, is also lobbying for a change to the law and claims Muslim passengers are being treated “as second-class citizens”.
He said: “They’re being detained, they’re missing their flights and some of them are being asked to become informants on their communities. They’re threatened and intimidated.”
Individuals convicted
Almost 70,000 people were stopped and questioned as they left or entered the UK last year, according to Home Office figures.
It is not known how many were Muslims but a Freedom of Information request to the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO), by the Federation of Student Islamic Societies (FOSIS) last year, revealed ethnic minorities were 42 times more likely to be stopped and questioned than someone who is white.
Campaigners also want a person’s faith to be recorded. At present, only ethnicity is monitored.
The Home Office says use of these powers has directly led to about 20 prosecutions a year, for terrorist-related offences between 2005 and 2009 and that a number of key individuals have been convicted as a result of being stopped at a port or airport

The opposite of “Muslim” is not “white”.
The religion is the salient feature warranting a search, not the skin colour.
These whingeing Muslims might pause to think they TOO can die at the hands of their co-religionists.
I AGREE! Muslims should not be searched, or put through scanners, or required to remove their disguises.
We should just refuse them entry to the country, then everyone would be happy.
As I have said before – OUR taxes pay for CCTV, wearing a face mask defeats the purpose.

For the last 1,400 years, islam has openly declared criminal, aggressive war on all of humanity, officially, right in their “holy” Qur’an.
And they’ve acted on it, too – with a historical average of a lot less than 1% of the global population, they’ve still managed to be responsible for over HALF of all murders (and all other crimes). Islam has killed over 270 million people (that’s OVER A QUARTER-BILLION INNOCENT LIVES SACRIFICED TO ALLAH so far)!
Islam has committed more murders (and all other crimes) than EVERY other human creed (both secular and religious)!
So, because of their official, “THOU SHALT KILL!” creed, (and even with having bred themselves up to be one fifth of the world today,) the moslems are still from between four and several hundred times more likely to commit murders (and all other crimes) than EVERYONE ELSE, combined!
Holy mobster Moslems only hate infidels because the Qur’an says “god” orders them to – Period.
Islam is a threat to everyone because IT says it is.
All moslems are criminals because, by their own rules, they must endorse in public every word in the Qur’an.
And the Qur’an tells them that they are so “superior” to all non-moslem humans, that it’s not only their right, but also their holy duty to their god, to extort, enslave, and murder all the non-moslems in the world, simply for the “crime” of not being moslems.
So the Qur’an is a clearly-written, us-versus-them hate-crime book, endorsing a permanent might-makes-right death-threat.
Here’s islam’s “holy Message from god” as exemplified by the collective words and deeds of it’s Founder:
“I will save humanity by lying to, extorting, torturing, robbing, burning out of their homes, kidnapping and ransoming, enslaving, raping and murdering everyone who even only verbally disagrees with me – and you can, too!”

Muhammad was really only a con-man and bandit-king, an arch-criminal who always blamed “god” for his own penchant for committing crimes. If Moe got away with committing a crime (and he tried them all, enthusiastically, more than once, but instead of ever showing contrition, bragged about how much fun it was to commit them, and advised everyone else to join in the fun, too), then it was held to be “obvious” that “god” wanted him to get away with having committed those crimes!
So, islam is not a “religion” (at all, much less one “of peace”) nor is it a “race” (at all, much less one of “Poor, Oppressed, People Of Colour”)!
Obviously, islam is ONLY an ancient, ongoing extortion-racket CRIME-syndicate, and the only “religious” part in it, is where they say:
“God told us to commit these crimes!”

As a Hindu (non white of course) i think you british should politely ask them to leave, as the french as doing now. They stand for everything you stand for.
Raping white women, looking down and spitting on white people are justifiable in islam. They all think like that. Don’t you feel that they are hypocrites by nature and always putting up a show with the infidels to show how much ‘peace and love’ they want to share with you!!!
