Turkish Police foil attack on church; EU will lose Turkey if it hasn’t joined by 2023: Erdogan

by sheikyermami on January 19, 2013

Good on them if they did. But did they really?

Turkish police have arrested 13 suspects accused of plotting an attack against members of a Protestant church and their pastor in a northwestern city, a local official said on Friday.

“The suspects who were arrested by the counter-terrorism units on Tuesday are accused of plotting an attack on the members of the Christian community and their leader” in the city of Izmit, the official told AFP on condition of anonymity.

Very well. Now comes a whopper:

Several attacks in recent years have targeted members of the Christian community in predominantly Muslim but staunchly secular Turkey. (Thanks to the ROP)

I get it. They are “secular” like the Muslim Brotherhood. Good grief!

Caliph Erdogan: EU will lose (something) if it doesn’t cave in to Turkish demands:

Yet another visit to Germany by this insolent, venomous Islamofascist?

This time he demands ‘more integration’-(which means he wants to see Turks lording over Germans, which, by the law of allah,  is their rightful place) Not long ago he declared assimilation a ‘crime against humanity’.

Needless to mention that Erdogan also demands that Germany offer asylum to about 100.000 Syrian ‘refugees’ who are presently hauled up in Turkey.

As far as I’m concerned we lost Turkey back in 1453 with the fall of Constantinople. If the Turks  declare political and economic bankruptcy and hand it back we shall help them resettle in minor Asia. Other than that we cannot ‘lose Turkey’ because we never had it since then.

EU will lose Turkey if it hasn’t joined by 2023: Erdogan

(Reuters) - The European Union will lose Turkey if it doesn’t grant it membership by 2023, Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan said on Tuesday.

It was the first time Erdogan has given an indication of how long Ankara might continue down the path towards EU entry, and his comments came at a time of growing alienation between Turkey and a political entity it feels has cold-shouldered it.

Turkey’s bid to join the EU, officially launched in 2005, has virtually ground to a halt in recent years due to opposition from core EU members and the failure to find a solution to the dispute over the divided island of Cyprus.

Asked during a panel discussion in Berlin on Tuesday night if Turkey would be an EU member by 2023, Erdogan answered, “they probably won’t string us along that long. But if they do string us along until then the European Union will lose out, and at the very least they will lose Turkey.”

Turkey will celebrate the 100th anniversary of its foundation as a republic from the ruins of the Ottoman Empire in 2023.

The predominantly Muslim but secular country of some 74 million people would strengthen the European Union, Erdogan said. Some 6 million Turks already live within the European Union, about 3 million of them inGermany, he said.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel, who Erdogan will meet on Wednesday, opposes full EU membership and favors a privileged partnership instead, although foreign minister Guido Westerwelle supports Ankara’s bid.

Speaking at the opening of Turkey’s new embassy building in Berlin, Westerwelle criticized the impasse in accession talks. “It is bad for both sides and next year, we want to make a new beginning to overcome this standstill.”

Earlier this month Turkey’s economy minister Zafer Caglayan scoffed at the EU’s winning the Nobel Peace Prize and condemned the bloc as the most hypocritical organization in the world, saying it had “kept Turkey waiting at its door for 50 years.”

Turkey has completed only one of 35 policy “chapters” every accession candidate must conclude. All but 13 policy chapters in Ankara’s negotiations are blocked and the European Commission, the EU’s executive arm, says Turkey does not yet meet required standards on human rights and freedom of speech.

Too small? Click here This is a satirical website. None of what you read here has anything to do with Islam, because Islam is a Religion of Peace. Everybody knows that good Muslims never do the things they do, (because Allah does it for them, Quran 8:12) and we know that only our misperceptions, ignorance and stereotyping of Islam makes Muslims chop off heads, kill and rape women and children, bomb subways, buses, nightclubs and fly jets into buildings. If it wasn't for the media and da Jooozzz, we wouldn't even know its happening. We welcome open, honest, thoughtful, and vigorous discussion in the comments threads, so do yourself a favour and don't accuse us of being 'haters' because we are loving, tolerant people. Don't curse us, don't threaten us with death or hellfire, and don't accuse us of being "just like the terrorists" because we don't do to Muslims what they do to us or to themselves. Yes, we know that only idiots oppose Islam and sensible people submit, but  you should know that we are ignorant bigots, hypocrites and Islamophobes, and we prefer to remain that way... But since you are forcing yourselves (and your abhorrent belief-system on us) we will defend ourselves, because we must. Avoid tu quoque and ad hominem attacks. Don't bother with circular reasoning either, we been there, done it.  If you annoy us, you will be banned and your posts summarily deleted. Try to add to the discussion, don't try to sell snake oil, don't try to cover us with Islamic shrouds of kitman and taqiyya, don't bother with da'awa, (we've heard it before) don't spam us with long pieces of cut & paste, write in English, try to tell the truth, (we know that's hard for you because you are all pathological liars) but the truth will set you free, try it! One more thing: don't think you can post here under multiple monikers. You will quickly be disappeared! The same goes for trufers and conspiracy kooks: you get one chance, one time. Blow it out of your ass if you must; put your stupidity on display. But you won't be back, trust me on that. Take a deep breath before you post, try to make some sense, do not just vent, do not make a fool of yourself and if you prove us wrong you can earn 10 Islamic dollars for your piggy bank. Deal?

There are many secular turks who are classed as being muslim but who are deeply concerned with what the islamic morons are trying to do to their country. HOWEVER TURKEY DOES NOT MEET THJE STANDARDS OF THE EU – and for that you can blame the islamistss.

Turkey was superficially european, until Ataturk’s reforms were alive in the 50′-60′. These years those reforms are made inactive by the new islamic governement of Turkey.

Mustafa Kemal had once a dream, but that dream is over.

The EU does not need an Islamic Turkey.

@ kaw & Gert,

Agree completely with both of you.

What this article fails to mention is the hold the Gulen Movement has on Turkiye. Under the direction of exiled Islamic Imam Fethullah Mohammed Gulen, who now lives in luxury in the USA. This movement has infiltrated: education, commerce, police, politics, judiciary system, media and now the military in Turkey.
We cannot have an Islamic Army in the EU.
The Gulen Movement employ the same tactics worldwide and have over 1,000 schools in over 100 countries including over 100 charter schools in the USA that they suck millions away from American tax dollars.
