20 women, 20 years:
Milan, 11 April (AKI) – A judge in the northern city of Milan on Thursday sentenced Egyptian immigrant Sameh El Melegy to 20 years in prison for the rapes of 20 women, most of whom he rode up to from behind on his bicyle. (thanks to the Religion of Peace)
Criminologists are still at the beginning (of this case), but it is already clear that in the person of the Turkish national Mustafa A. (28) they are dealing with the most brutal sex beast in Austria. The suspected serial rapist, the sex monster of metro line no. 6 who caused horror, has abused at least four more women. Judge Antonella Bertoja also fined El Melegy for stealing some of his victims’ handbags and their contents and ordered him to pay 10,000 euros to the city council for damaging Milan’s image.
El Melegy almost invariably attacked his victims after dark. He committed the rapes over a three-year period in various areas of the city and his victims were aged 22 to 50.
Mobile phones and credit cards belonging to the women recovered by police at El Melegy’s flat were used to incriminate him as well as DNA evidence.
Milan’s public prosecutor Gianluca Prisco had asked for a jail term of 122 years for El Melegy.
Bertoja ruled that under Italy’s penal code, El Melegy could be jailed for a maximum of 30 years, but sentenced him to 20 years due to his choice of a fast-track trial.
