The emirate of Qatar reacted to Wednesday’s events by stripping Sheik Qaradawi, the Britherhood’s spiritual leader of his citizenship, closing down all Brotherhood offices and expelling Qaradawi and Hamas leader Khalid Mesha’al from the country.

According to Sheikh Yusuf Al-Qaradawi’s official Facebook page, the Muslim Brotherhood leader attended demonstrations at Rabaa Al-Adaweya Mosque in support of President Morsi last Sunday.

He will not be allowed back into Qatar.

  1. Egyptian-born Youssef al-Qaradawi, one of the most prominent Sunni clerics in the Middle East, said in the fatwa posted on his website that the military’s intervention to depose Mursi on Wednesday was against democracy and the constitution.

“Doctor al-Qaradawi issued a fatwa on the necessity to support the elected Egyptian president Mohamed Mursi, and to retain the constitution… and calling on al-Sisi and those with him to withdraw to preserve legitimacy and democracy,” the posting said.

He said many scholars from Cairo’s al-Azhar Islamic university, Egypt’s pre-eminent Muslim institution, agreed with him.

Radical headbangers agree that power should be only in the hands of radical headbangers? Gee, how ‘democratic’ is that?

  2. BTW, our politicians like McCain sound like Qaradawi – supporting the MoeBros instead of the military.
