The insufferable Catherine Ashton bloviates about “progress”
Ashton serves as the EU’s foreign policy chief. Overpaid, pig- ignorant and clueless, Â her biggest competitor would be John Kerry, who believes Islamic terrorism is somehow caused by “poverty”.
Stop the jiziya!
Pal-Arabs should be held accountable for dodgy finances by the people who give them the money, writes Roei Eisenberg. Do you agree?
(Actually, I disagree. Stop the money, its the only way to stop the terror.)

In a referendum that was held on Tuesday and Wednesday on whether to approve a proposed new constitution, a spectacular 98.1% of those voting said “yes,” though voter turnout was only 38.6% of registered voters. This has given rise to questions of ballot-stuffing, but there have no reports of this happening. —Obama Regime Dismisses New Egyptian Constitution that Guarantees Freedom of Religion & Women’s Rights
Pal Minister Mahmoud Habbash: Jihad Must Be Directed Toward Jerusalem, Not Syria
MEMRI TV/ Transcript below the fold.
If you can bear it, you can listen to his yelling, about how for the good old cause of Jihad the truest qibla is Quds —Â here.
Aat the end, he recognizs the truth: it is the cause of “Palestine” (that is, the Jihad against Israel in a soi-disant struggle for “the rights of the Palestinian people”) that, in any number of ways, has had its interests harmed by the Syrian conflict. But it has also been harmed by the daily Jihad news, or news of Muslim-on-Muslim violence, in Iraq, in Libya, in Yemen, in Egypt, in Pakistan, in Bahrain, in Bangladesh, in short, practically everywhere where Muslims dominate.
In the “Palestinian camp” (small city) of Yarmouk, the Assad regime has put those who remain in the camp, Sunni Arabs (“Palestinians”) who oppose him, under siege. Unsurprisiingly, the Assad regime has had it with “the Palestinians” whom it supported so completely, and who, being Sunnis, have quickly abandoned it, and many have turned on it, and so now that regime, and the Alawites who never trusted the Sunni “Palestinians,” will never again assume the self-protecting mantle of defenders and promoters of the cause of “Palestine.” That’s over.
And in Egypt, the incipient Pharaonism, the hyper-nationalism that is being encouraged by the regime — an Egyptian variant, awkward and at times maladroit, of Turkish Kemalism — has no place for “Palestine” (which made Egypt suffer material and human losses in three wars, for a pan-Arab or pan-Islamic cause, and Egypt — while still glad to pocket Saudi support that will continue to be given, because the Saudis now deem the Ikhwan and others who take Islam to heart as the vehicle for social and economic protest as a threat to them, both within Saudi Arabia, and without) — is now indifferent or even hostile to “the Palestinians,” and similar disinterest, in the midst of their own continuing domestic disarray, can be observed all over the Arab lands. It’s only in the credulous, comlacent, ignorant Western world and in the slippery coulisses of the U.N. (and its succursales in Geneva and UNESCO in Paris) where “the cause of Palestine” still has much of a following.
If one did not know that shouiting and screaming was standard in Arab speeechifying, one might think that Mahmoud Habbash’s performance here s due to his keen awareness that too much has happened to distract even his fellow Muslim Arabs, and that, as he surely must fear, as the Western world wakes up to Islam, his cause will become moribund–that is, if polypragmonic John Kerryand others of that ilk resist the temptation to practice artificial resuscitation.
Palestinian Minister Mahmoud Habbash: Jihad Must Be Directed Toward Jerusalem, Not Syria
In an address broadcast on Palestinian Authority TV on January 13, 2014, PA Minister of Religious Endowments Mahmoud Habbash said that Jihad should be directed toward Jerusalem, not Syria. “Jerusalem is still waiting. Jerusalem is the direction. Jerusalem is the address,” Habbash stressed, adding that “evil hands” were “conducting a filthy game” intended to weaken the Islamic nation and “to divert the compass away from its true direction.”
