"The right thing to do"- where did we hear that before?

In case you missed the 2007 SOTU also, the essence of last night’s event was preemptively captured in one image by All the Right Snark:

In Case You Missed the State of the Union Address  (Moonbattery)

Even if you had better things to do than watch Obama’s State of the Union address last night, don’t worry about having to wait a whole year to get another chance.

If you saw Bush’s 2007 SOTU, last night would have been largely a rerun for you anyway. As Bush speechwriter Marc Thiessen notes, Obama’s speech

was eerily familiar. There were lines like, “Our job is to help Americans build a future of hope and opportunity. A future of hope and opportunity begins with a growing economy. A future of hope and opportunity requires that all our citizens have affordable and available healthcare. Extending opportunity and hope depends on a stable supply of energy.” All of that came from the 2007 State of the Union Address by George W. Bush. So, Barack Obama has gone from blaming George W. Bush to plagiarizing George W. Bush.

I’m posting this again in case you missed it.

One-Man Wrecking Ball (Moonbattery)

The Great One aptly sums up our imperial president as a one-man wrecking ball:

It may take decades to fully appreciate the damage Obama is doing to this country. But none of it was difficult to predict, for those aware of his communist background. No wonder the media helped him keep it obscure.

  1. The craziest person, I have ever had the misfortune of meeting was a crazy crazy (read: bat shit crazy) far far left Leftie at university.

Funnily enough, her favourite line, that she used to puncture the end of all her sentences with was, it is “the right thing to do”.

Hating Israel…“The right thing to do”
Global Warming…“The right thing to do”
Hating the Conservatives…“The right thing to do”
Allowing violent asylum seekers in to the country…“The right thing to do”
Taking money away from the wealthy…“The right thing to do”

The greatest rebuttal to this obnoxious manipulative statement are two simple words… “Is it?” And sit back and watch as conflicting emotions flicker across their face, sitting for a few long seconds in a stunned silence and a mouth that opens and closes as no words can come out. Until, all the words tumble out all at once and trip over each other as the voice goes up in pitch several octaves as a anger takes over.

They can’t possibly exist in a world where they might be wrong, after all, thinking like a Lefty is the “The right thing to do.”
