As Kosovo heads towards an early election on June 8, Prime Minister Hashim Thaci has his promised to lift the headscarf ban in the country as part of his election campaign.
Due to a headscarf ban in public schools, many girls in Kosovo – a mainly Muslim country – have opted out of education.
‘Education’ for Mohammedans means Islam.
Thaci also promised to create 200,000 new jobs during a campaign meeting in Pristine.
The campaign process, which started at midnight on Wednesday, will continue until June 6 in a race for 120 seats in the parliament.
Two Turkish parties are among 30 parties, coalitions and individuals competing to enter the parliament.
