"Undocumented migrants are not criminals. They are human beings in need of protection and assistance, and deserving respect”

I beg to differ. Al Jizz promotes this rubbish for a reason.

Who are the ‘human rights’ cranks?

The International Organisation for Migration (IOM) said on Monday that a record 3,072 people had died attempting to reach Europe during the first nine months of 2014.

That is more than double the annual average of about 1,500 deaths. Many are refugees fleeing wars in places such as Syria.

“Our message is blunt: migrants are dying who need not,” said William Lacy Swing, the director general of IOM, in a statement posted on the organisation’s website.

“It is time to do more than count the number of victims. It is time to engage the world to stop this violence against desperate migrants.

The number of migrants who have died while trying to cross the Mediterranean this year has already surpassed twice the average annual total, the highest toll since the beginning of the century.

According to a report issued by the Geneva-based organisation, a total of 40,000 migrants have died since the year 2000, more than half of them have drowned in the Mediterranean, making Europe the “most dangerous destination for irregular migrants”.

‘Harsh response’

IOM’s research records that since 2000 nearly 6,000 more migrant deaths occurred along the US-Mexico border and another 3,000 deaths from such diverse migration routes as Africa’s Sahara Desert and the waters of the Indian Ocean.

The report noted that the actual figures of fatalities is likely to be higher, since most governments do not prioritise collecting such data, although they are one of the key sources for such counts.

The IOM urged countries around the world to do more to prevent migrant deaths and to release data on fatalities that could highlight the extent of the problem.

“The paradox is that at a time when one in seven people around the world are migrants, we are seeing an extraordinarily harsh response to migration in the developed world,” says IOM Director General Swing.

“Limited opportunities for safe and regular migration drive would-be migrants into the hands of smugglers, feeding an unscrupulous trade that threatens the lives of desperate people. We need to put an end to this cycle. Undocumented migrants are not criminals. They are human beings in need of protection and assistance, and deserving respect,” he said.

  1. The refugee racket is big business. Everybody is a winner but the sane part of the Western country being invaded. The invaders get benefits and easy rich victims for crimes, get to outbreed the indigenous culture while the state pays for their breeding and education of their spawn. The self hating leftists and liberals get to see their society destroy to their great joy. I have seen this myself. Refugees to the US are utterly transforming our smaller cities on a scale that is shocking. You would never know as the leftists hold refugee celebrations and call for ramping up the refugee racket. Of course, it is all on our dime.

  2. The Western Countries – via the U.N. – should ask the nations to share the balance of genuine refuges, regardless of their location of landing and consistently with the culture and the religion they share with a particular refugee.
The Muslim Countries in particular cannot continue to disregard their responsibility towards their own refugees – of course and therefore qualified to migrate to countries of their own religion.
The World has experienced plenty Dawah and Sharia promotion undercover.
The Western Countries should enforce the Rule of Reciprocity implicit and often stated in their own constitutions.
Islam has enjoyed plenty of favour and open gates from the West and is now time to reciprocate by delivering proper human rights to minorities – instead of further persecutions and “Demographic Management” – and democratic rights and freedom to all citizens regardless of their belief or social status.

The Western Countries should realise that the Sharia Law is the RED LINE their own constitutions cannot take on board and agree with without provoking their own abrogation.

  3. These are economic migrants who are looking for a better life but sadly they carry the ideological pathology, Islam, which made their lives miserable where they came from. Europe, America, Austalia et cetera do not owe these people anything and when they are admitted thier hosts now share this misery.
My life would be much better if I could land a six figure job with Microsoft but that does not mean Microsoft should be obliged to provide me with a six figure job. When European settlers perished at sea enroute to America or Austalia that was not the problem of the aboriginal inhabitants of these continents. As Bob Dylan sang on Positively Fourth Street : “Now I know you are dissatisfied with your position and your place; Don’t you understand that’s not my problem” – that is the message that must be conveyed.
