Feelings hurt: Muselmaniacs and useful idiots complain about musicians in Taliban dress

There is no fun in Islam….

A group of Middle Eastern students say they were offended and isolated by a “controversial” Canterbury University club event that attracted nearly 100 complaints.

10534903Some have joined more than 500 people in signing a petition “against racism and Islamophobia” in the Engineering Society (Ensoc) RoUndie 500. The event caused a stir with feminists last month because some cars and costumes poked fun at women and minority groups. Ensoc encouraged themes “the more inappropriate the better”.

One car was called “Taliband”, with musicians in Taliban dress with ammunition strapped around their waists, and another was the Gaza Strip-ers, featuring ladies in mini-skirt burqas and men without pants wearing teatowels on their heads.

Sounds like fun.

Nine Egyptian, Palestinian and Syrian students last week posted a public letter on the Ensoc Facebook page saying “insensitivity and racism are not laughing matters”.

Islam is not a race. There is no need to be sensitive towards head choppers. We should laugh them out of business.

“The event not only offended us but also made us feel isolated.

Ridiculing Mohammedans is an impediment to the da’awa. That’s what they find objectionable.

“I would like everyone who has somewhat enjoyed the student’s (sic) sense of humour to consider the way members of society, associated with these beliefs, feel as well as the impacts on their daily lives and the way they are viewed.”

I would like to see Mohammedans with a sense of humour instead of their constant whining and wingeing….

When the letter was deleted soon after, its main author, Egyptian student Sandra Iskander, had “no words” and said it was a “perfect illustration of our point”.

Hers was one of more than 600 signatures from all over the world on a “Take action against racism and Islamophobia at Ensoc’s RoUndie 500” petition on change.org yesterday.

An attached open letter to university vice-chancellor Rod Carr said: “While these costumes may have been intended as ‘just a joke’ or ‘a bit of fun’, they portray stereotypes that are damaging to Muslims and people of colour, and further perpetuate racism and Islamophobia in our community, and alienate Muslim students and students of colour at Canterbury University.”

These students are victims of stereotypical Mohammedan grievance theatre.

Carr said the university took seriously its desire to create an inclusive environment, and was working with students to promote better understanding of the “obligations and self restraint that come with the rights to freely express opinions”.

Ensoc president Guy Wilson, who with his executive committee last week told The Press it was working on improving its public image, said procedures were put in place to prevent the event from offending again.

Stop the brain police!

A university spokesman said the statement from the Middle Eastern students “express clearly the impacts on some of our students from this issue”, and it welcomed the discussion.

It had fielded 99 complaints following the Ensoc event, and was preparing a final report to be released to the clubs concerned in the next few days.

  1. Engineers are down to earth people. Engineering is not sociology or one arty BS degrees. Engineers see things as they are. If the didn’t, airplanes would look good, but never fly etc.

    Right ON Engineers.

  2. no imagination either it appears. There wasn’t any muslem participants I take it. Seems like they missed a perfect opertunity for Muslims to show their pet peeves using satire .

  3. Thanks so much for airing this Sheik. I have been trying to stand up for the Eng guys in the local paper but it is the Press which is giving the thought police so much oxygen. The Engineering schools are one of the few male bastions left. These students have been doing things like this for years..many of their efforts are really funny and really creative. It was young women who started the complaints. The engineers will soon be in good jobs whilst the young women will be competing for café jobs.
Anyone wanting to support the young men can contact them at ENSOC, Canterbury University, Christchurch , New Zealand.
Canterbury students would never get a chance to study in the middle east. If they did they would not get any air time in the papers.
At the same time as this nonsense campaign is going on , Wiremu Curtis and other muslims are freely wearing ISIS t-shirts on the streets of Auckland. Curtis has been stopped from going overseas to fight the jihad. Why?

  4. STOP TOLERATING THESE INTOLERANT INTOLERABLE & MALEVOLENT CRIMINAL MUHAMMADAN

    Australians ….
Ensure the following steps are carried out ….
    1. Incarcerate all Australian Politician and Political Criminals who are Assisting/Enabling ISLAM and who are Traitors/Seditionists against Australia.
    2. Stop ALL Muhammadan immigration to Australia.
    3. Expel ALL Muhammadans -(after Sterilisation)- from Australia.
    4. “Expel” ALL unwilling to go Muhammadans.
    5. Bulldoze ALL islam’s “Mostgrotesques” Mosques.
    6. Expel ALL -(survived their incarceration)- “Dhimmis” from Australia.
    7. “Expel” ALL unwilling to go -(survived their incarceration)- “Dhimmis”.

REMOVE each AND every Muhammadan (and their also Criminal “Dhimmis”) living in Australian sooner than possible.

  5. Perfect. Let’s rework that complaint letter a bit. How about this: “While these decapitated bodies may have been intended as ‘just a joke’ or ‘a bit of fun’, they portray stereotypes that are damaging to kafirs and secular people, and further perpetuate racism and Kafirophobia in our community, and alienate kafir students and students of secular and rational persuasion at our Universities.”
