A man playing the part of a terrorist repeatedly shouted “Allahu Akbar” (“God is great”) before acting out the explosion.
Community groups and activists condemned the use of “stereotypes” for the exercise, with some raising concerns it would fuel anti-Muslim prejudice.
One person has been killed and several injured in a knife attack by a suspected Islamist at a railway station near Munich.
The suspect reportedly shouted “Allahu Akbar” (“God is great”) as he started stabbing passers-by in the town of Grafing, to the south-east of the German city.
Community groups and activists have not complained, for some reason.
The owners said they had been forced to close the business “until further notice” in a statement on their Facebook page.
Due to “concrete threats”, they explained that they felt unable to guarantee the safety of the restaurant’s employees – but vowed to continue to “denounce blatant injustices”.
The burger named after the Turkish leader first appeared on the menu of Urban Burgery at the end of April.
