Never did we imagine that once we arrived in America, we would deal with Islamophobia or racism. When I saw the Twin Towers crumble, I remember feeling shock and dismay. The loss of life was unimaginable. My family and I felt profound grief for those who lost their lives.

But what was equally shocking and hurtful was that Islam was being painted as a faith that was alien to us. … blah blah… taqiyya…

Militant groups like the Taliban and ISIS have little to do with Islam.
