Hamas: “The extermination of the Jews is good for the inhabitants of the worlds.”

More genocide talk from jihadists, while the world continues to yawn. By Itamar Marcus and Barbara Crook for PMW:carterhitlerjordan2.jpg

Bestsellers in Jordan (and Turkey) Carter’s ‘Apartheid’ and Hitler’s ‘Mein Kampf’

The extermination of Jews is Allah’s will and is for the benefit of all humanity, according to an article in the Hamas paper, Al-Risalah. The author of the article, Kan’an Ubayd, explains that the suicide operations carried out by Hamas are being committed solely to fulfill Allah’s wishes. Furthermore, Allah demanded this action, because “the extermination of the Jews is good for the inhabitants of the worlds.”
The killing of innocent Jews by terrorist attacks is portrayed as Allah’s plan for the benefit of humanity.

It should be noted that Hamas’s justification for the extermination of Jews, both as God’s will and for the benefit of humanity, echoes Hitler’s words in Mein Kampf:

“In this case the only salvation remaining was war… If the Jew with the help of his Marxist creed is victorious over the peoples of this world, then his crown will be the funeral wreath of humanity… Thus I believe today that I am acting according to the will of the almighty Creator: when I defend myself against the Jew, I am fighting for the work of the Lord.” (Mein Kampf)
In another parallel to the Nazi genocide of Jews, the writer says he wants to be sure that “everyone will know” that these murderous actions are “not of [Hamas’s] own accord” – an echo of the Nazi war criminals’ repeated justification of their actions with the defense that they were only following orders.

The fact that these orders are said to be divine in nature makes Hamas’s justification for the murder of Jews even more ominous.

Following is the excerpt from the Hamas article:

“We find more than once condemnation and denunciation to the resistance operations and bombings [suicide attacks], carried out by Hamas and the Palestinian resistance branches. There is no other choice but to use restraint regarding the condemnation, the attaching of the label of terror [to “resistance”], and the assembling of conferences [for] condemnation [of the attacks]. [This] so that everyone will know, that we did this only because our lord commanded so, “I did it not of my own accord” [*] and so that people will know that the extermination of Jews is good for the inhabitants of the worlds on a land, to which Allah gave his blessing for the sake of the inhabitants of the worlds.” [Al-Risalah, April 23, 2007]

Thailand: The South is ‘restive’ again – Jihadists kill five, including two Muslim children

* Note that the jihadists — “militants” — are in this story shooting and killing other Muslims, and that meanwhile the Muslim women and children demonstrators are demanding the release of the “militants.” This suggests that Muslims who are perceived as collaborating with the government are being targeted (along with their families, apparently), in order to swing around the rest to supporting the jihadists.

By the way, “restive” has become the mainstream media’s Homeric epithet of choice for the jihad in southern Thailand.

“Five killed in Thailand’s restive south,” from AFP, with thanks to JW

Five people, including two Muslim children, have been killed by suspected Islamic rebels in separate attacks in Thailand’s violence-torn south, police have said.
A group of militants ambushed a motorcycle late on Friday (local time) and shot dead a 45-year-old Muslim man and his two children, an 11-year-old girl and a seven-year-old boy, in Yala, one of three Muslim-majority provinces.

Also in Yala, a 37-year-old Muslim man was hacked to death by militants in public view at a market late Friday, police said.

They also found the body of a man in a river in the province.

While the case is still under investigation, police suspected he was a victim of Thailand’s three-year insurgency in the south bordering Malaysia.

Police said several hundred Muslim women and children also blocked a highway in Yala on Saturday as they continued their sit-in for the third consecutive day to demand authorities release suspected militants.

Update: 9 More Killed in restive Muslim -South

From AFP

At least nine people including three children were killed in a bomb attack and shootings by suspected Islamic rebels in Thailand’s restive Muslim-majority south, police said Saturday.

A 15-kilogram (nine pounds) bomb hidden under a bridge went off late Saturday, killing a two-year-old Muslim girl and two border patrol officers in Yala, one of three violence-torn southern provinces bordering Malaysia.

The adult victims were among six border patrol officers travelling on motorcycle, police said, adding the bomb was set off by remote control.

The attack capped a day of violence in Yala, where at least six people were killed in separate attacks by suspected Islamic militants.

A Muslim man was gunned down Saturday in a drive-by shooting, while rebels ambushed a motorcycle late Friday and shot dead a Muslim father and his two children, an 11-year-old girl and a seven-year-old boy.

A Muslim man was hacked to death by militants in public view at a Yala market late Friday, and police found the body of another man in a river in the province, also a suspected victim of Thailand’s three-year insurgency.

Police said several hundred Muslim women and children blocked a highway in Yala Saturday as they continued their sit-in for a third consecutive day to demand authorities release suspected militants.

Earlier in the day, some 20 kilometres (12 miles) away from the sit-in, hundreds of Buddhists also took to the streets, demanding the Muslims end the road blockade.

More than 2,100 people have been killed in the ongoing insurgency in the three southern provinces of Yala, Narathiwat and Pattani.

The Muslim-majority provinces were once an autonomous sultanate, until the region was annexed by mainly Buddhist Thailand a century ago. Separatist unrest has erupted periodically ever since.

The military-backed government, which came to power after a September coup, has made peace-building efforts in a bid to rein in the unrest, but violence has escalated in the last six months.

More news: Army, police step up security after Bangkok bomb

BANGKOK (Reuters) – Thailand’s police and army will tighten security in Bangkok with extra checkpoints around the sprawling metropolis after a small bomb exploded near a royal palace, police said on Sunday.

Investigators later suggested Muslim militants waging a three-year separatist insurgency in the Muslim-majority southern provinces may have had a hand in the bombs.

Cairns Post calls Mosque ‘Temple’ – Objecting Residents are ‘Crusaders’- of course!

Locals show no faith in temple bid

by Bronwyn Cummings

The clueless far left nutroots from the Cairns Post are so obsessed with multiculti ‘tolerance & diversity’ and so befuddled with ignorance that they call a proposed mega-mosque in a quiet street a ‘temple’- resident objectors are smeared as leading a ‘crusade’

Sheik yer’mami warned about this here: Inside the forbidden fortress

and here: What is a mosque? A simple place of worship?

Excerpt: No. There is ample evidence that mosques are monuments of Islamic conquest. Mosques are symbols of Arab Imperialism and supremacy. Mosques, as we can see around the world, are centers for plotting and subversion, they are used as bunkers and places for weapons storage. Mosques are bridgeheads and fortresses in the Dar al Harb, symbols of conquest in the lands of the infidels, which is yet to be conquered for Islam. Mosques are indoctrination centers where the soldiers of Allah are incited to wage violent jihad against unbelievers and Jews.

Update:  “We can’t interfere in any way with a mosque unless they are shooting at us”

Western (i.e. civilised) fighting forces like the US, Brits, and Israelis just don’t seem to understand that you cannot fight the Islamafascists with one hand tied behind your back. All over the Muslim world MUSLIMS are bombing mosques and mosques are used as the nerve centre for weapons caches and terrorist activity. Yet western forces have rules of engagement that forbid them to even enter a mosque. In Michael Totten’s excellent report of his embedding with a group of US soldiers in Baghdad searching for a senior Al Quaeda operative includes the following dialoge (when four terrorists are spotted on the roof of a mosque):

“They have a little bunker up there,” he continued. “You can’t see it from here, but it has sand bags and sniper netting around it.”

“What are you going to do?” I said.

“Nothing,” he said. “It’s a mosque.”

“They’re violating curfew,” I said, “and stalking us in the dark from a militarized mosque. And you aren’t going to do anything?”

“Our rules of engagement say we can’t interfere in any way with a mosque unless they are shooting at us,” he said.

We left our stalker with his “co-workers” and walked away.

And people wonder why the Americans aren’t winning in Iraq!

Cairns ‘Crusaders’

Suburban crusade: North Cairns residents led by Peter Roners (front) are waging a battle against a plan to build a mosque amid a row of character homes in Dunn St. Cairns City Council is awaiting a heritage report before making its decision.

* Concerned residents are presented as some kind of hicks and get little sympathy from the Cairns Fishwrap.

* Recently a Cairns businessman saw his business interests, his commercial properties and his residency listed in the Cairns fishwrap as the ‘man behind sheik Yer’mami’- By writing his full name five times and setting him up for assassination by the lunatic fringe of Muhammedan radicals, a reporting ratbag by the name of Gavin King exposed himself as a hateful antisemite flash-as-a-rat-with-a-gold_thumb.jpg

Moonbat Wankfest Downunder:

” Oh Muslim, Here Is The Jew, Come & Kill Him”

* Excerpt: Incredible Malice and Reckless Endangerment: Misrepresentations and journalistic malpractice by the Cairns Post put a man’s life in grave mortal danger…

* Stay tuned. 2 Barristers, one QC and several lawyers have offered to take this case on pro bono. We’ll keep you posted!

* After years and years of rape-epidemics from Stockholm to Oslo, (raping infidel women are ‘war booty’) honor killings in London, Paris, Berlin, Nice, after the French intifada, Cronulla riots (which riots?) seven thousand terrorist attacks by Islamic radicals after 9/11, (who counted before?) after Bali one and two, Madrid, London, Beslan and uncounted atrocities on unbelievers and Jews the moonbats would have us believe that all is well and if we just sing ‘kumbayahh’ the soldiers of Allah will no longer wage jihad against us.

Unfortunately, that’s not how it works. Ask Chamberlain:

Neville Chamberlain waving his contract with Hitler

And here’s Sir Winston who had to clean up after his mess

Anyway, here’s today’s news from the fishwrap:

RESIDENTS fear plans to build a mosque among their old Queenslander homes could shatter the tranquillity of their quiet North Cairns street.

The concerned householders say they are not opposed to the prayer sessions already held in the house at 31 Dunn St but they do not want a purpose-built mosque on the 637sq m block.

Cairns City Council deferred the development application for the site on April 12 pending a heritage report.

The application was to build a prayer hall, with a dome height of 8.5m, a tearoom and 11 car parking spaces on the block, which faces the Kuranda Railway line and Pioneer Cemetery.

“The building of this size and design will not fit in keeping with the character of the street,” resident Peter Romer said.

“Residents have not objected to the low-key usage of the existing house as an Islamic centre, however the proposed building is totally alien from the surrounding homes.”

The residents this week met to discuss the future of the site, where a 55-year-old Queenslander house now stands.

Far Northern Islamic leader Imam Abdul Aziz said the prayers had been conducted five times a day for seven years with no complaints.

“Everything will remain the same but we will have a bigger place of worship and car parking,” Mr Aziz said.

Mr Aziz said the site already had material change of use approval for a place of worship.

In 2000, conditions on the site were set by Cairns City Council including a garden buffer, on-site car parking and a restriction of 20 worshippers.

Resident Bill Bradley said the conditions had not been met and most were not included in the development application.

The residents are about to submit their second petition to the council and have already had their previous objections noted.

“We don’t have a problem with the mosque the way it is, except for the cars parking out the front,” nearby neighbour Kartrina Santo said.

“We are not an Islamic community but at any rate, I wouldn’t want a church of any religion built there.”

Not to worry, matey: Tolerance and diversity! Why can’t we all just get along…???

Stay tuned!

* Other places also object to the building of mosques:

“There’s a mosque in The Hague”

And all over Rotterdam, and Amsterdam, and in Paris and Marseilles and Lyons and Toulouse, in London and Manchester and Birmingham and Leeds,in Rome and in Milan, in Berlin and Hamburg and Frankfurt, and in thousands of other cities and even small towns all over Europe. The Saudis and other rich Arabs fund them, just as they pay for the land, and the construction, and the maintenance, of mosques all over this country, from Boston to sunny California. Most of the mosques in the Western world are not paid for by the locals, but by very rich foreign Muslims — governments, institutions, individuals. After all, not all of that ten trillion dollars in oil revenues that Muslim states have received since 1973 alone goes for arms purchases, and palaces for the boys, and wages for those millions of non-Muslim wage-slaves who keep Saudi Arabia and the smaller sheikdoms going, and gambling in London and Monte Carlo, and call girls (the Arabs especially contemptuous of the West for allowing “their women” to be bought and used in such a way, by their sworn enemies, the Arab Muslims), and endless shopping in the funfair-cum-brothel of Europe,

Occasionally local opposition can stop the building of a mosque, but not because the mosque has been paid for by sinister foreigners, nor because mosques are far more than merely religious establishments but politico-religious outposts of the Army of Islam, and inevitably, unless subject to constant round-the-clock monitoring, will tend to have khutbas based on the almost-unavoidable subject with which the Qur’an and Hadith are full: to wit, the permaent state of war that exists between Believers and Infidels, and the need for Muslims to work to remove all obstacles to the spread, and dominance, of Islam.

Western governments simply will not stop to examine, will not dare even to discuss, the nature, the meaning, the menace of Islam. Those whose duty it is to protect us will continue to pretend that what goes on in mosques is as “religious” in nature as what goes on in churches or synagogues. But it isn’t. Visits to mosques, or tapes of what goes on, or the testimony of those who have jettisoned Islam but can still recall what they heard (or if their faces are not recognized, enter mosques still) confirm that what goes on is dangerous to Infidels, to their legal and political institutions, to their physical security.

If the national governments of the Western world have failed those whom they are supposed to protect, have failed to exhibit any intelligent curiosity about Islam as a Total Belief-System, and the role of the mosques as a basis for Jihad — that is, the “struggle” to promote Islam and remove all obstacles to its spread, and dominance — local governments, or local officials, have been forced to change or cancel permits by aroused citizens, who have made their cases against this or that mosque on the basis of size — the proposed mega-mosque in London appears to have been stopped — rather than on the basis of the bristling and aggressive nature of these huge structures, their minarets rising like missiles (as Erdogan once famously said).

If more non-Muslims came to understand the texts and tenets and attitudes of Islam, they would not be so uninterested in the mosque-building that goes on, sometimes even with the aid of local governments (e.g., Mayor Menino encouraging the building of the Boston Mosque, and even agreeing to sell land far below the market price), but would move heaven and earth to stop as many such projects as possible, and what’s more, to make sure that existing mosques and madrasas are monitored for the contents of what they preach (and what Muslims practice, when they are in a position to do so). The word “religion” keeps getting in the way, but greater knowledge would give Infidels the confidence not to be bamboozled or impressed by such a word, and determined not to be deterred in their opposition to mosques and madrasas, for the first is not simply, or mainly, a house of individual worship, but a center where a collectivist and aggressive Total Belief-System can more easily maintain or reinforce its hold over local Believers.

Genocidal Mullah visits Pope, when will Pope visit Teheran?

Crybaby Mullah Watch

Pope Benedict XVI shakes hands with former Iranian President Mohammad Khatami during a private meeting at the Vatican, May 4, 2007. (Osservatore Romano/Pool/Reuters)

Islamic supremacist Mohammad Khatami, Iran’s showcase “moderate,” met with Pope Benedict today: Christian-Muslim wounds still ‘very deep’: Khatami.

Robert Spencer has a great take on this at Dhimmi Watch

Shaking hands with the Pope, Khatami could have decried the Muslim persecution of Christians, apologized for it, and called upon Muslims to treat the “People of the Book” with all the respect that Islamic apologists in the West claim they have for them. He could have told the Pope, “I deplore your remarks about Islam and Muhammad, although I am aware that you have made it clear that you do not share those sentiments, and I have determined that the best response to them is to show the world that Islam is peaceful and rational. I ask Muslims worldwide to behave in this manner, thus removing any cause anyone might have to suspect that the Emperor Manuel II Paleologos was right about our religion and our prophet.”

But he didn’t say anything like this, of course. He just whined and played the victim, after the well-established pattern of the spokesmen for his coreligionists in the West.

Don’t you wish these bloodthirsty religious fanatics would just decide whether they want to be fearsome jihad warriors or whiny crybabies.

By Philip Pullella

Former Iranian president Mohammad Khatami met Pope Benedict on Friday and said the wounds between Christians and Muslims were still “very deep,” including those caused by a controversial papal speech last September.

Khatami became one of the most prominent Muslim clerics to visit the Vatican since the Pope’s controversial Regensburg speech which angered Muslims by appearing to link Islam and violence.

“These wounds are very deep. There are many wounds and they cannot heal that easily,” Khatami told a conference in Rome just before the papal meeting, when asked if the wounds that followed the Pontiff’s speech in his native Germany had been healed.

“For sure, a meeting with the Holy Father cannot be enough to heal all these wounds but at least we are making a joint effort in order to start healing these wounds,” Khatami said.

In his September speech, the Pope quoted a 14th century Byzantine emperor as saying Islam had only brought evil to the world and that it was spread by the sword, a method that was unreasonable and contrary to God’s nature.

He used the quote to launch into a much longer discussion of the key influence of ancient Greek philosophical reasoning on the early Christian faith and invited Muslim scholars to enter into a dialogue about faith and reason with Christians.

The Pope later said he regretted any misunderstanding it caused among Muslims, after protests including attacks on churches in the Middle East and the killing of a nun in Somalia.

The Vatican said Khatami and the Pope met for about 30 minutes and spoke through interpreters about the “dialogue among cultures” to overcome current tensions and promote peace.

* Islam speak for ‘surrender, pay the jiziyah or be forcibly converted or killed…’

In talks that a spokesman called cordial, they also discussed the problems of minority Christians in Iran and the Middle East and encouraged peace efforts such as the conference on Iraq’s future taking place in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt.

At Friday morning’s conference, Khatami, speaking through a translator, said that Christianity and Islam needed to rediscover their common roots as monotheistic religions in order to improve relations.

“If Christian and Islamic societies could only rely on love and justice and get back to these founding principles and if together we fought against violence and extremism … then we can lay the foundations to heal any wound,” he said.

* The usual BS…

The conference on religious dialogue Khatami attended was to have been held in October but was postponed following the fallout in the Muslim world over Benedict’s Regensburg speech.

At the conference before meeting the Pope, Khatami said no one could use God’s name to “instigate war or hate or speak ignorantly of crusades.” He said both religions must enter a “sincere and practical dialogue and commitment to achieve peace and eliminate terrorism and war.”

* Quite right: God doesn’t call for war or hatred. But ‘Allah’ is not God. What he really means is ‘Surrender..’

* Did the pope ask him what he meant by ‘speaking ignorantly of crusades?’

Hamas Terrorist (minister) leaves Brussels after visa cancelled

* Looks like the Dutch had enough.

A terrorist in suit and tie is still a terrorist…

AFP/File Photo: Palestinian government minister and Hamas member Bassem Naim,

Palestinian government minister and Hamas member Bassem Naim was forced to fly out of Brussels on Friday after Dutch authorities cancelled his visa, the Belgian interior ministry said.

Naim, the Palestinian sports and youth minister, had planned to travel on to the Netherlands for a conference on refugees.

Speaking to Arab news channel Al-Jazeera from his plane, he said he was stopped with a companion by police at Brussels airport, during a stopover, and told his Netherlands visa had been revoked.

Interior ministry spokesman Paul Van Tigchelt confirmed to AFP that the minister was intercepted at Brussels airport at the request of the Dutch authorities.

“We were informed by the Dutch authorities that the entry visas were issued in error and that the visas had been annulled,” he said.

Belgian police told him the justice ministry in the Netherlands had cancelled the visa because he was deemed “dangerous for the security of the Dutch people”, the minister told Al-Jazeera.

Naim left for Brussels from Cairo, according to officials in Egypt, who said he was expected back in the Egyptian capital on Friday.

The European Commission has begun dealing with non-Hamas members in the Palestinian government of national unity, but Hamas is branded a terrorist group in the EU and United States.

In the West Bank city of Ramallah, information minister Mustafa Barghouti said: “We are surprised by this decision and we expect the Netherlands to take a balanced stand between Israel and the Palestinians.”

* ‘Balanced’ in Pali-speak means ‘side with us or else…’

Anti Dhimmitude in Cyprus: ‘Why Should We Adopt the Turkish Culture?’

* Muhammedans often claim that their countries are being ‘invaded’ by western powers while deliberately ignoring the global jihad against the world that rages since 1400 years. The old chestnut that ‘no Islamic country has invaded a non Islamic country in 200 years’- is often repeated by the historically ignorant nutroots and moonbats among us who would sing ‘Kumbayah” even when the halal butchers cut their throats in front of a video camera. For starters, Indonesia immediately invaded East Timor the moment the Portugiese left. And just over 25 years ago the Turkish army invaded Cyprus, killed and raped and displaced more than 8000 people. There are currently 30-plus jihad wars in the world, from Chechnya to Kashmir, from Mindanao to Sulawesi and from Ethiopia to Nigeria. Israel is by no means the cause of the global jihad, but a scapegoat. If Israel fell today, the jihad would immediately continue against Spain, (‘Al Andaluz) Greece, France, Italy (Sicily) but not only there: The soldiers of Allah claim the world. The Koran teaches that they must ‘fight the unbelievers until all the world submits to Allah’…

Cypriot Foreign Minister Yiorgos Lillikas.

* Lillikas may not be all that savvy about the global jihad and the teachings of the Koran and the sunnah, but he understands that Turkey wants it all, and that would leave little for the Greek Cypriots.

Little progress has been made on solving the issue of a divided Cyprus since it was last addressed in December. SPIEGEL ONLINE spoke with the Cypriot foreign minister about what the Turkish crisis means for Cyprus, why the island is eager to see Turkey join the EU, and how accession is like an Anatolian bazaar.

SPIEGEL ONLINE: The road to Turkish membership in the European Union leads through Cyprus. Should Turkey not recognize Cyprus and open up trade with the country, it cannot become an EU member. But domestically, Turkey also has a lot of work left to do to implement the criteria for membership. Does the current government crisis in Turkey between the military-backed secularists and the Islamic government of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan worsen Turkey’s chances of accession and lessen the chances of finding a solution to the Cyprus problem?
Yiorgos Lillikas: Both. I am afraid that every time we have a political crisis in Turkey, Cyprus pays the price, especially should the military return to power. As we have seen in the past, that would mean a more hardliner policy and a more aggressive policy toward Cyprus. Cyprus is still seen by the Turkish military as vital for the country’s security. This is a very old fashioned and outdated approach. If they don’t change, then the Cyprus problem cannot be solved and it won’t be possible for Turkey to become a member of the European Union.

SPIEGEL ONLINE: Last December at the EU summit, Turkey maintained its refusal to open up all its ports and airports to traffic from Cyprus and elected not to move towards normalizing relations between the two countries. Do you think the Turkish position might soften once the upcoming elections are over?

Lillikas: I certainly hope so. In the European Union, a lot of partners thought that because of approaching elections in Turkey, the government in Ankara was unable to implement its obligations toward the European Union. If that is the case, then it can also be true of the Cyprus problem.

SPIEGEL ONLINE: Given the role the military plays in Turkish political life, why should Turkey be a part of the European Union at all?

Lillikas: If Turkey doesn’t change its political culture by adopting European values, then of course it cannot become a member of the European Union. That should be clear for everybody. But we have to keep the incentives alive for Turkey. I am always opposed to those who say that Turkey should never become a member of the EU, because then, the Turkish government has no incentive to pursue reforms. But I am also opposed to those on the other extreme who say that they support Turkey unconditionally. The result is the same. If the Turkish government believes that it can become an EU member without fulfilling the criteria, then it would likewise have no incentive to reform.
SPIEGEL ONLINE: Is Turkey’s desire to join the European Union the only lever that Cyprus has in negotiations with Turkey over the potential reunification of the island?

Unfortunately yes. We are too small to have other levers. This is why I am dumbfounded when Turkish politicians say they would never accept the withdrawal of Turkish troops from Cyprus for security reasons. Come on! Maybe we are not very clever, us Cypriots, but we are not so stupid that we would attack Turkey.

Update: The strange politics of the EU

Army meddling ‘threatens Turkey’s EU chances’

The EU, like Condoleeza Rice, would apparently prefer Turkey as an Islamic state to Turkey as a secular state under military rule.

By Amberin Zaman and Damien McElroy in the Telegraph, with thanks to Jihad Watch
The European Union warned the Turkish military yesterday that its interference in the country’s politics could jeopardise its chances of joining the EU. “The EU is founded on the principles of liberty, democracy, respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms, the rule of law, and the supremacy of democratic civilian power over the military,” Olli Rehn, the EU enlargement commissioner, said in a statement.
“If a country wants to become a member of the Union, it needs to respect these principles.”

The comments came after Turkey’s prime minister, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, (a convicted Islamo-fascist who did jail time for his belief) asked parliament to call a general election in July, five months early, after the country’s highest court annulled a vote to choose a new president.

The army warned at the weekend that it would intervene if Abdullah Gul, the ruling AK party’s foreign minister, was made president.

Opposition leaders fear Mr Gul’s election would enable the government to pursue an “Islamic agenda” it has so far kept in the shadows….

Onur Oymen, the hawkish deputy chairman of the main opposition Republican People’s Party, said the secular basis of the Turkish state was the true guarantee of democracy.

You can’t have democracy without secularism,” he said. “The notion of moderate Islam to check radical Islam is nonsense. This idea being promoted by certain countries should be abandoned.”

Charles Rips the Media Whores

Charles from LGF has been watching the Sydney Morning Heralds idiotic attempt to paint Sheik Al Hilali as some kind of homeboy, something he is not. Now the Daily Telegraph gets in on the action:

The Sydney Morning Herald’s absurd puff piece on the catmeat Sheik (subject of this post on Tuesday) was also noticed by Brendan Shanahan at the Daily Telegraph:

Fools give racism a real Sheik

I AM not keen on inter-newspaper slanging matches. One group of journalists claiming to be morally superior to another is like two hookers arguing over who has the cleaner house.

On Wednesday, however, a profile of Sheik Taj el-Dene Elhilaly in The Sydney Morning Herald’s Insight section typified a particular kind of weak journalism masquerading as balanced and fair while doing little more than appeasing extremism.

Describing Sheik Hilaly as, among other things, “otherworldly” and “a symbol of resistance to the more materialistic elements of Australian culture”, this effort to soften the mufti’s image was bolstered by a photograph of him in a stripey apron cooking a pot of stew. The bakin’ sheik looked like a Margaret Fulton of the madrassas.

All very friendly and cosy. Then the subject of the Holocaust came up and the Hilaly of old came shining through.

“I, like many researchers in the world,” he was quoted as saying, “shy off the number of innocent victims that had been estimated at six million.”

Researchers? Oh, right: he’s talking about neo-Nazis.

It is staggering that The Sydney Morning Herald would allow nonsense like this to be printed, qualified only with the observation that Hilaly

still treads a fine line that many may continue to see as racist”.

“Racist” is saying that Jews are cheap and have big noses. Hilaly isn’t walking a fine line; he’s goose-stepping down the pavement.

Like most Holocaust deniers, Hilaly doesn’t reject the existence of death camps. His preferred tactic, like that of other “researchers”, is to play games with the numbers: one million dead as opposed to six being more of a minor skirmish than a holocaust.

This, of course, is the basis of the standard Islamic fundamentalist conspiracy theory: that Jews exaggerate the number killed during the Holocaust in order to guilt Western powers into supporting the expansion of Israel.

This long-term goal has been further aided by their staging of the September 11 attacks which gave Zionism a blank cheque to crush the Muslim world using George W. Bush as their puppet.

These demented conspiracies are, from personal experience, mainstream in many countries and lent tacit endorsement by public figures in the West so keen to prove their credentials on issues like Palestine that they will nod and smile in the face of the most blatant madness.

When Hilaly’s views are presented, unchallenged, as simply a matter of opinion it paves a dangerous road in which historical fact counts for nothing and the little old ladies in the Eastern suburbs who woke up under a pile of corpses are just another voice in a “debate”.

In their desperate efforts to play devil’s advocate, the Herald is being intellectually dishonest. Journalists would do well to remember that they are nowhere near as clever as they like to think and not half as clever as a snake like Hilaly.

* Well, at least the Telegraph takes a position. Could it mean that we will see more decency an honest reporting in the future? Not much hope there…

France: Segolene Royal Madness “Vote for me or Muslims will riot”

France’s Royal warns of violence if Sarkozy wins

In a tactic straight out of the Islamofascist playbook, socialist Segolene Royal says that if her opponent Nicolas Sarkozy wins the French presidential election, her friends the “youths” are going to tear the place up.
By Kerstin Gehmlich Reuters

Socialist opponent Segolene Royal said on Friday that France risks violence and brutality if her opponent right-winger Nicolas Sarkozy wins Sunday’s presidential election.

On the last day of official campaigning, opinion polls showed Sarkozy enjoyed a commanding lead over Royal, who accused the former interior minister of lying and polarizing France.

“Choosing Nicolas Sarkozy would be a dangerous choice,” Royal told RTL radio.

“It is my responsibility today to alert people to the risk of (his) candidature with regards to the violence and brutality that would be unleashed in the country (if he won),” she said.

Pressed on whether there would be actual violence, Royal said: “I think so, I think so,” referring specifically to France’s volatile suburbs hit by widespread rioting in 2005.
Read it all…

* Of course, its not like Sarkozy will actually be able to govern. All the politicians, academics, media, etc. are hard core, defeatist, self-loathing libtards and will block everything he does

This is just in from Atlas Shrugs:

If Sarko wins the 6 may, its will be war”

These words resound like an incantation on every French suburbs. For the “banlieues”, Nicolas Sarkozy is THE enemy. After his speech of  “cleaning up the suburbs with an karcher” and the word “racaille”, (scum)  a large part of these multicultural areas is strongly mobilized against the UMP candidate.

This mobilization behind Segolene Royal is strong on the suburbs [punk jihadis – Atlas] : 41.63% of votes in Clichy sous Bois, the start place of the 2005 ramadan riots. Same at La Courneuve and Argenteuil, where she’s the leader. The left won the immigrants [punk jihad – Atlas] vote without contestation. The Socialist Party promises the right for the stranger to vote, they promised a lot to the suburbs population.

After 2002, when Le Pen arrived on the second turn, the left pushed the suburbs to vote. They know these populations are favorable to them.

This work paid, and these populations who didn’t vote before is now strongly mobilized behind Segolene Royal.

A large front against Sarkozy (extreme left, suburbs) was born.

Now this is a kind of blackmail, and even the socialist candidate plays this game, “choosing Nicolas Sarkozy would be a dangerous choice,” Royal told RTL radio.

The French are warned, if they vote for him, this will be the war on the streets with sporadics riots, and on the ground of social contestation with the extreme left.

This “alliance of the worse” is determined to go over the vote and the democracy if they don’t have what they want. Things are like that in France, the left wing considers himself as the “good”, and the rest is the “evil”, this strategy of diabolisation started with Jean Marie Le Pen who represent the incarnated evil. In 2002, despite he was on the second turn, the mobilization on the streets shows they will not respect the vote and play by the rules of democracy.

This is a French specialty, a left wing that is very influential, particularly on the mainstream medias (94% of the journalists says they vote left or extreme left, according an IPSOS poll), that means even the right wing papers are controlled by leftist journalists.

Out with the old, in with the ‘Jew’? Sarkozy talks to the ‘Post’

Sunday’s runoff election between Socialist candidate Segolene Royal and Nicolas Sarkozy will be a historic event, and not solely because it will produce the first French president born after World War II.

If the polls are right, the Union for Popular Movement’s Sarkozy will be the next leader of the Republic, which means that France will have a Jewish head for only the second time in its history… almost.

Sarkozy, whose father is Hungarian, has been something of an adopted son here (especially in Netanya) due to his Jewish background: His mother had a Jewish father. Sarko, as his supporters call him, has openly and repeatedly called himself a friend of Israel in good times and in bad. While he remains politically neutral regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, he has drawn criticism from many for his views and positions on Israel, notably from extreme right-winger Jean-Marie Le Pen, who said during the Second Lebanon War that while the land of the cedars was under attack, Sarkozy was declaring that he was a supporter of Israel.

Christopher Hitchens: NO to Censorship!

The speech is from a debate at Hart House, University of Toronto. Hitchens speech is in opposition to a proposed amendment to criminalize hate speech. A big thanks to Scott T.

Meanwhile, CAIR is chipping away on freedom of speech:

CAIR Cheers”Thought Crime” Bill Passage

I warned against the thought crimes bill here. I even said  “I can just see CAIR scampering to get this passed.” They will wield this legislation like a club. Well it passed the House and CAIR is ecstatic. Here is the CAIR alert;

(WASHINGTON, D.C., 5/3/2007) – The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) today congratulated the US House of Representatives on its passage of the Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act.

CAIR has supported the act since 2005 and last week renewed its call for the community to urge elected officials to pass the measure.

The Senate now must consider its version of the bill, known as S. 1105.

If passed, the law would allow the Attorney General to provide federal assistance to local law enforcement to aid investigations of crimes motivated by “…prejudice based on the actual or perceived race, color, religion, national origin…” of the victim.

The White House has indicated that it will most likely veto the measure if it reaches the President.

Pamela sez: Thank G-d for Bush.

UPDATE: From the guys in the white hats;

“This legislation is harmful to all Americans because it perpetuates the very hatred and strife that it seeks to prevent,” noted the RSC letter.  “This legislation would federalize every state and local crime, so long as there exists the possibility that the crime was potentially motivated by hate – but only the specific ‘hate’ directed to the special groups included in this bill and other hate crime legislation across the country.”

“The Republican Study Committee respectfully urges you to veto any legislation which threatens to undermine our most cherished constitutional rights – the freedom of speech and religious expression and equal protection under the law – and asks you to issue a strongly worded veto threat against H.R. 1592 or any bill that contains the vestiges of this legislation.”

This morning, the White House responded to the letter by issuing a veto threat (attached) noting that the bill is “unnecessary and constitutionally questionable.”

“We are pleased that the President will side with the Constitution on behalf of ALL people – regardless of their class, status, or identity,” said RSC Chairman Jeb Hensarling.  “All of us, regardless of party or ideology, want to deter crimes against young women, old men, African Americas, homosexuals, pregnant women, veterans and everyone else.  What we don’t believe in is dehumanizing people by segregating them into different groups while ignoring them as individual human beings.  This bill is unconstitutional, undermines individual liberty and is well deserving of the President’s veto.”
