How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries!

Today Paul Weston, chairman of the party Liberty GB and candidate in the 22 May European Elections in the South East, has been arrested in Winchester.

Weston speechAt around 2pm Mr Weston was standing on the steps of Winchester Guildhall, addressing the passers-by in the street with a megaphone. He quoted the following excerpt about Islam from the book The River War by Winston Churchill:

.
by Hugh Fitzgerald
.
.

What Paul Weston is reported to have read out does not contain the last sentence or two. Here is the complete quote:

How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property – either as a child, a wife, or a concubine – must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men. Thousands become the brave and loyal soldiers of the faith: all know how to die but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it had vainly struggled, the civilisation of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilisation of ancient Rome.”

The strong arms of science at the time Churchill was writing — 1899 — meant the Gatling gun (“We have the Gatling-gun/And they have not”) but now it means the Western armory of bombers and fighter jets and drones, night-vision goggles and tanks, everything that we have — and so too do Muslim armies, as long as we keep selling them, or still worse giving them, to them, all on the theory that they are our “allies” and engaged in the same fight. They are not allies, they are not engaged in that same fight.

Here’s more on that fight that is foisted upon us but which those who are sworn to protect us desperately ignore:

Islamists Seek to Bury 9/11 Truth  (IBD)

The death of 3,000 didn’t upset them nearly as much as telling the truth about what motivated the hijackers. What babies.

Tongue Sucking?  (Answering Muslims)

Your daily dose of gross.

All Things Haram  (Free Malaysia)

A Malaysian writer laments that religious tolerance is slipping away in his country as well.

Obama’s Muslim Easter  (Robert Spencer)

“There is nothing in Islam that teaches that non-Muslims should be accorded the same rights and dignity as Muslims in an Islamic state.”

Islam’s View on the Kafir  (Islam Watch)

Simply being a non-believer means being subject to prejudice and discrimination, according to the Quran and every other significant teaching in Islam.

Too small? Click here This is a satirical website. None of what you read here has anything to do with Islam, because Islam is a Religion of Peace. Everybody knows that good Muslims never do the things they do, (because Allah does it for them, Quran 8:12) and we know that only our misperceptions, ignorance and stereotyping of Islam makes Muslims chop off heads, kill and rape women and children, bomb subways, buses, nightclubs and fly jets into buildings. If it wasn't for the media and da Jooozzz, we wouldn't even know its happening. We welcome open, honest, thoughtful, and vigorous discussion in the comments threads, so do yourself a favour and don't accuse us of being 'haters' because we are loving, tolerant people. Don't curse us, don't threaten us with death or hellfire, and don't accuse us of being "just like the terrorists" because we don't do to Muslims what they do to us or to themselves. Yes, we know that only idiots oppose Islam and sensible people submit, but  you should know that we are ignorant bigots, hypocrites and Islamophobes, and we prefer to remain that way... But since you are forcing yourselves (and your abhorrent belief-system on us) we will defend ourselves, because we must. Avoid tu quoque and ad hominem attacks. Don't bother with circular reasoning either, we been there, done it.  If you annoy us, you will be banned and your posts summarily deleted. Try to add to the discussion, don't try to sell snake oil, don't try to cover us with Islamic shrouds of kitman and taqiyya, don't bother with da'awa, (we've heard it before) don't spam us with long pieces of cut & paste, write in English, try to tell the truth, (we know that's hard for you because you are all pathological liars) but the truth will set you free, try it! One more thing: don't think you can post here under multiple monikers. You will quickly be disappeared! The same goes for trufers and conspiracy kooks: you get one chance, one time. Blow it out of your ass if you must; put your stupidity on display. But you won't be back, trust me on that. Take a deep breath before you post, try to make some sense, do not just vent, do not make a fool of yourself and if you prove us wrong you can earn 10 Islamic dollars for your piggy bank. Deal?

# The new hate song?

God bless our native land,
May heaven’s protective hand
Still guard our shore;
May peace her power extend,
Foe be transformed to friend,
And Britain’s power depend
On war no more.

Arrested for quoting Churchill?

In the UK, the lunatics are running the asylum. Here’s a comment from GoV:

“The Special Rapporteur also reiterates his concern in relation to
anti-blasphemy laws, which are inherently vague and leave the entire concept open
to abuse. He wishes to underscore once again that international human rights law protects individuals and not abstract concepts such as religion, belief systems or
institutions, as also affirmed by the Human Rights Committee (CCPR/C/GC/34,
para. 48). Moreover, the right to freedom of religion or belief, as enshrined in
relevant international legal standards, does not include the right to have a religion or
belief that is free from criticism or ridicule. Indeed, the right to freedom of
expression includes the right to scrutinize, debate openly, make statements that
offend, shock and disturb, and criticize belief systems, opinions and institutions,
including religious ones …” (La Rue, F. Report of the Special Rapporteur on the promotion and protection of the right to freedom of opinion and expression, A/67/357, United Nations General Assembly, 67th Session, 7 September 2012.)

Actually, the strong arm of science is much, much more than weapons. It is the clear mindedness that creates the weapons, the medicine, the computers, the inventions that run Western Civilization. It is the clear mindedness and its innovation that cannot function without freedom, as nothing worthwhile can without such.

Fear of Islam has spread into the hearts of nearly two-thirds of humanity through global political actors, Turkish Religious Affairs Directorate head Mehmet Görmez said today. “Islamophobia has become an illness in the hearts of two-thirds of humanity. We are facing different kinds of challenges against Islam,” Görmez said in a meeting with religious officials in the western province of İzmir. Görmez also said mass media had taken over all young people, leading to a change in the language and understanding of their audiences. “We can’t continue with the definitions from 10 years ago,” he added, signalling a change in the institution’s teachings.

For the first time, academics are taking the issue of anti-Muslim attacks in the UK seriously. A recent report by Jonathan Githens-Mazer and Robert Lambert on Islamophobia and Anti-Muslim Hate Crime: a London Case Study shows how ‘contexts of fear and prejudice against Muslims are providing a basis for violence’. It distinguishes three groups as responsible: small bands of nationalist extremists, gangs with no particular affinities, freelancers acting out of prejudices imbibed from the media’s portrayal of Muslims as terrorists. And, for once in a report, the voices of the victims of such violence are centre-stage.

This report is the first from a newly formed European Muslim Research Centre (EMRC) at the University of Exeter which has funding from Islam Expo and the Cordoba Foundation for a ten-year study of the lives of Muslims in towns and cities across Europe. And, hopefully, having this new centre making a pronouncement on anti-Muslim violence, certainly the most virulent form of racism in the UK today, may have the national impact that is needed. The report’s strength lies in the way it traces cases back to the unequivocal link between attack and motivation.

There is absolutely no doubt that its authors are well intentioned and care deeply about this subject. However, there are a number of weaknesses in the report. Anti-Muslim violence is, of course, linked to a growth in Islamophobia. But Islamophobia is not just a body of ideas in a vacuum. It is connected to the war in Iraq and the war on terror and tied therefore to the state, its laws and executive decisions.

Muslim migrants are living in a society which is institutionally racist. Brits must learn to respect and tolerate those who are different.Children should be taught about living religions so that they could learn to respect and tolerate those who are in their schools or who live near their own homes.

Multiculturalism is not about integration but about cultural plurality. It is not about separation but about respect and the deepening awareness of Unity in Diversity. Each culture will maintain its own intrinsic value and at the same time would be expected to contribute to the benefit of the whole society. Multiculturalism can accommodate diversity of all kinds – cultural, philosophical and religious – so that we can create a world without conflict and strife. Britain can assume the role of accommodation and concern for all peoples, for our planet and indeed for our survival. Multi-culturalism is even more important and crucial after 9/11 and 7/7. Muslim youths are also likely to feel alienated by a focus on shared Brutishness, rather than multicultural diversity. Rather than promoting a single British “us” teaching should acknowledge that “us” can be diverse and plural. Children should be encouraged to explore differences in appearance, history and religion to reduce social and educational fears.
