UN Calls Censorship a “Human Right”

The United Nations believes that the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) has a “human right” to impose censorship on the media to “promote (Muslim) religious tolerance.” UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon will even hand over funds for the OIC to ensure that strict censorship on the media will be enforced when reporters shed a negative light on radical Islamic militants that include, Osama bin-Laden, al-Qaeda, the Taliban, al-Shabaab (Somalia) and Abu Shayaff (the Philippines).

According to Fox News, “concerns about censorship were raised after the 56-nation Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), which has tremendous sway in the United Nations, successfully pushed through a resolution that creates a watchdog to monitor how religion is portrayed in the media.”

The OIC claims it will enforce religious tolerance by ensuring that the (Muslim) religion is not mocked. An incident occurred when Danish cartoons depicting the Prophet Mohammed instigated Islamic riots. Yet, the United States and the European Union members on the council voted against the resolution, worrying that it will censor the press and assault freedom of expression.

As reported by Fox, “the resolution now opens the way for the Human Rights Council to select a special investigation on religious freedom to “work closely with mass media organizations to ensure that they create and promote an atmosphere of respect and tolerance for religious and cultural diversity.”

The UN loves to use irony whe implementing new policies. Mr. Ban appointed a so-called “Human Rights Council,” to be the media watchdog to impose censorship. Meanwhile, the UN hires and appoints investigators to seek and punish whistle-blowers and aid in cover-ups of corruption by initiating “sham” investigation inquiries. The UN also hosts “Transparency Summits,” even though Mr. Ban is notorious for hiding internal UN documents from public scrutiny.

The Rudd Government recently changed guidelines to ensure campaign funds were individually vetted by an independent panel of public servants but a government can skip this measure by claiming a national emergency, extreme urgency or other compelling reasons.

Special Minister of State Joe Ludwig granted the exemption for the new government ads after being told by Treasurer Wayne Swan about an ‘’active campaign’’ against the proposed resources super profits tax.

Note well that excuse – that the Government needed to rush out this taxpayer-funded propaganda to counter the mining industry’s advertising campaign against its super tax:

Ludwig: ‘‘I note and accept the Treasurer’s advice that there is an active campaign of misinformation about the proposed changes and that Australians are concerned about how these changes will affect them. I further note and accept the Treasurer’s advice that, as tax reform involves changes to the value of some capital assets, they impact on financial markets.

‘‘Given that co-ordinated misinformation about the changes is currently being promulgated in paid advertising, I accept the need for extremely urgent action to ensure the Australian community receive accurate advice about the nature and effect of the changes.’’

But an insider and blog reader nails the lie:

The pitching agencies were originally briefed a little over three weeks ago. It would have taken at least a week of decision making before the agencies were briefed.

So how many ads did the mining council have running a month ago? None that I can recall. So while Swan and Rudd claim their campaign is a response to the “national emergency” caused by the “disinformation” in the mining council ads, they had given the go-ahead to the campaign before a single mining council ad had run.

But with large numbers of Mohammedans invading the dar al harb, to settle behind what they perceive to be behind enemy lines,  life for the few  remaining Jews in the West becomes increasingly difficult. Because Mohammedans suck the Jew-hatred in with the mothers milk:

Anti-Semitism Rising in France

Anti-semitism comes in the mental baggage of Muslim immigrants

(IsraelNN.com) Anti-Semitism in France is strongly on the rise, according to the 2009 annual report released late last week by the Jewish Community Protection Service (SPCJ). The organization reported that 832 anti-Semitic incidents were recorded in France in 2009, as compared with 474 such incidents in 2008 – a 75% increase.

The statistics were gleaned from records in the organization’s Aid to Victims Department, which cross-checked the figures with data published by the French Ministry of Home Affairs. Included were “statistics, comments, analyses and extracts from sentences handed out by courts in cases involving anti-Semitism,” according to the Council Representing Jewish Institutions of France (CRIF).

CRIF President Richard Prasquier attributed the increase to the French population’s anger at Israel during its counter-terrorist operation in Gaza, Cast Lead, last January. There were 354 anti-Semitic incidents recorded in January 2009 alone – a “totally unacceptable transposition to France of the Israel-Palestine conflict,” Prasquier said. He added that “anti-Semitic words and deeds on a daily basis, often under the cover of anti-Zionism, have become a major and worryingly trivial fact of life.”

In 2007, the number of anti-Semitic incidents recorded by the French Interior Ministry was 386, a lower figure than had been recorded in previous years. But the trend had already begun to change long before the Operation Cast Lead was carried out; the 2008 figures were already 22 percent higher than those of the previous year.

At least part of the reason for the hatred may have been due to the corresponding rise in the country’s Islamic population.

As of 2003, there were an estimated five to six million Muslims living in France, according to a report issued by the country’s Interior Ministry. However, by 2007, that number had climbed to an estimated eight million, according to Odile Jacob’s Intégrer l’Islam.

In 2008, there were some 490,000 Jews living in France, according to a survey by Professor Sergio Della Pergola of the Jewish People Policy Planning Instituteand the Harman Institute of Contemporary Jewry at Hebrew University.

Canadian Anti-Semitism Rising Too
Anti-Semitic incidents in Canada also reached record highs in 2009, according to an annual report released by the B’nai Brith Canada organization. The survey showed an 11.4 percent jump in the number of incidents over the previous year, 2008 – a figure that constituted the highest level ever reported in the 28-year history of the audit.

The organization noted there has been a five-fold increase in anti-Semitic incidents in Canada over the past decade. As happened in France, the highest number of attacks to take place in one month, 209, occurred last January, during Israel’s counter-terrorism operation in Gaza.

According to the Toronto Muslims website, Muslims living in Canada today number more than 750,000, with some 61 percent of those residing in Ontario, where the majority of the anti-Semitic incidents occurred. “Since the September 11 terrorist attacks many Muslims have begun to look to Canada as an alternative to the United States… This is especially true with international students who have come to Canada in much larger numbers since 9/11,” the site noted.

For Israel’s Arabs It Is Not Apartheid

An Arab member of the Knesset who goes all the way to the US and Canada to tell university students and professors that Israel is an apartheid state is not only a hypocrite and a liar, but is also causing huge damage to the interests of his own Arab voters and constituents.

If Israel were an apartheid state, what is this Arab doing in the Knesset? Doesn’t apartheid mean that someone like this Knesset member would not, in the first place, even be permitted to run in an election?

Fortunately, Arab citizens can go to the same beaches, restaurants and shopping malls as Jews in this “apartheid” state. Moreover, they can run in any election and even have a minister in the government [Ghaleb Majadlah] for the first time.

In this “apartheid” state, the Arab community has a free media that many Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip envy. Ironically, an Arab newspaper in Nazareth or Haifa that is licensed by Israel enjoys more freedom than the media controlled by Hamas and Fatah, as well as most corrupt Arab dictatorships.

ROME, NOV. 17, 2009 (Zenit.org).- The problems faced by Christians in Iraq are not caused by the state, but the very social system, says one representative of the Catholic community there.

Archbishop Jules Mikhael Al-Jamil, procurator of the Syrian Catholic Patriarchate in Rome, presented this analysis at a press meeting organized at the Italian Chamber of Deputies.

The prelate, 71, said that in Iraq’s social system, Christians have no supports to defend themselves, thus becoming easy victims of common criminals or terrorist groups.

He said their situation can be called a “religious persecution” caused by a social system that is inspired by a view of the Quran, according to which Islam and its followers must dominate and regard believers of other religions as citizens with fewer rights.

The archbishop, expert in Arab culture and literature, explained that according to the Quran, Islam is a religion that is above all others.

In the past in Iraq (and some still hold this view), “Christians who were under a Muslim regime or doctrine were free to believe in Islam, to leave their land, or to pay a tax to live in peace,” he said.

Nevertheless, Archbishop Al-Jamil noted, Christians used to be a quite influential minority. They made a decisive contribution to the country’s culture in, for example, the creation and development of the first University of Baghdad. These contributions, the prelate explained, allowed them to “enjoy respect.”

“But this doesn’t mean that they enjoy the same rights” according to certain interpretations of the Quran, he continued. “A Christian cannot rule over a Muslim” in a Muslim regime. “A general of the army cannot be a Christian.”

Now that Christians have lost their political weight and social influence, and many have abandoned their land, they suffer the persecution of a dominant social system that keeps them defenseless, Archbishop Al-Jamil said….

The EU apparently feels that it is no longer necessary to hold Hamas to the 3 preconditions that have been used as the litmus test for deciding on whether to open dialog with the terrorist group Hamas.

With millions of Americans struggling to make ends meet, President Barack Obama is giving $300 million in “aid” to Gaza.

The aid is part of a larger $900 million that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton promised to the Pali Arabs when she jetted through the Mid East recently.

Much of the money is said to be going directly to the “Palestinian Authority”, which controls the West Bank; however, at least $300 million will go directly to Hamas-controlled Gaza. 

Hamas has been classified as a terrorist organization by the United States government.

Al-Qaeda murders American man for preaching Christianity

According to al-Jazeera, the American was not killed in a botched attempt to kidnap and hold him ransom, as previously indicated, but because he was engaged in the unforgivable act of trying to convert Muslims to Christianity. “Al-Qaida claims killing of U. Scandal-hit Minister Shahid Malik was branded a ‘crafty b*****’ after new allegations concerning his use of Commons expenses were disclosed last night.

He was reappointed to the Government last week, as Communities Minister, after an inquiry cleared him of any wrong-doing over the discounted rent he pays on his constituency home.

But Gordon Brown’s judgment in restoring the former Justice Minister so swiftly is set to be questioned after a Mail on Sunday investigation uncovered allegations that Mr Malik:

• Allowed three of his brothers to use his taxpayer-funded second home in London as student digs.
• Tried to buy his flat at a knockdown price from the elderly council tenant who lived there.
• Is refusing to release papers to allow a heavily pregnant neighbour to move to her new home

Also, Mr Malik paid his father Rafique £7,000-a-year from his Commons expenses to work as an assistant in his constituency in Dewsbury, Yorkshire.

Mr Malik came under further pressure as some constituents launched a petition to try to have him deselected.

Since becoming an MP in 2005, Mr Malik has claimed the maximum £66,827 expenses on his flat in Peckham, South London. It includes £2,600 for a home cinema system, £65 for a court summons for not paying council tax, £730 on a massage chair, £671 for a fireplace and £510 for a fitted wardrobe.

The two-bedroom flat – the bottom two floors of a four-storey building – was bought by Mr Malik from Southwark Council for £85,000 in 2001. His elder brother Zahid was living in the privately owned flat on the top two floors. He sold it for £234,000 in 2003.

The previous occupant of Shahid Malik’s flat said Zahid tried to persuade her to exercise her right to buy the flat  at a reduced rate from the council and then sell it to the Maliks.

Ivy Luchford, 71, who moved to Welling, Kent, said: ‘As I had lived in the flat for a long time, and my mother had lived there before me, I could have bought it for £9,000 and sold it on. It was a nice flat with a lovely garden, but I didn’t want to do that. I just left without telling them.’

When told that Mr Malik had bought her old flat from the council for £85,000, an astonished Ms Luchford said: ‘What a crafty b*****. He got that flat for next to nothing. How did he persuade the council to sell him it for that?’

One of Mr Malik’s neighbours, who did not want to be identified, said that when Ms Luchford moved out, Zahid Malik lobbied Southwark Council to buy it. Land Registry records confirm that soon afterwards, Shahid Malik bought the flat, including the freehold covering the whole building.

‘I was very angry,’ said the neighbour. 

‘There was a long list of locals desperate for affordable accommodation, but the council was happy to sell it to the Maliks. It needed a bit of damp treatment and they were persuaded it would be easier to off-load it to the Maliks rather than carry out the repairs.’

When Mr Malik, 41, bought the flat, now said to be worth up to £300,000, he had just been elected to Labour’s ruling National Executive Committee. 

A Southwark Council spokeswoman refused to comment directly on the 
sale of the flat. ‘Councils can dispose of any surplus or void properties,’ she said. 

‘When sales take place a valuation is compiled and there are strict rules 
in place which ensure nobody is offered a “bargain”.’

Mr Malik is now in a dispute with his upstairs neighbour who bought the flat from his brother. 

The Mail on Sunday understands that Harriet Lee, who is heavily pregnant, has received an offer for the property and is desperate to move before she gives birth. But she is said to be frustrated at being unable to complete on the deal because Mr Malik has failed to sign the relevant freehold papers. Ms Lee refused to comment. 

The Mail on Sunday has been told that three of Mr Malik’s brothers – Jahanzaib, Shehryar and Zeeshan – have used the flat as accommodation while studying in London. His sister Sobia is also believed to have stayed at the flat.

There is no suggestion of wrong-doing by Mr Malik’s siblings. Commons rules state that MPs’ second home expenses must not ‘give rise to an accusation that you or someone close to you is obtaining a benefit’.

Mr Malik is the only MP who has employed his father in his office. Rafique Malik was paid about £7,000 a year as a two-day-a-week case worker in 2005. A former Mayor of Burnley, he is thought to have worked for his son as recently as last November.

Mr Malik stepped down from the Government after it was revealed that his main home – a three-bedroom house in Dewsbury, which he pays for out of his own pocket – cost him less than £100 a week to rent.

The deal raised questions about whether the Minister had broken rules on accepting gifts. 

After he was cleared by Sir Philip Mawer, Mr Brown’s independent adviser on ministerial conduct, Mr Malik was reappointed last week – only for revelations to emerge detailing how the taxpayer had simultaneously paid towards his second home in London and the costs of office space in his constituency house.

Last night Mr Malik said: ‘I believe my Peckham flat had been boarded up well in excess of a year at the point of purchase. It was prone to squatters and was completely uninhabitable and dilapidated prior to purchase. The amount I paid reflected the condition of the house and the prevailing market rate at the time.

‘Like any other family, my family have naturally frequented my flat on a casual and occasional basis.’
