A CONTROVERSIAL Australian sheikh radical Islamic headbanger has been left stranded in Jordan after authorities confiscated his Australian passport, possibly in relation to his membership of an international group that advocates a global Islamic caliphate.

Ismail al-Wahwah, a Hebron-born sheikh who lives in Sydney, had finished the haj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia and travelled to Jordan to visit family.

But upon arrival at Amman airport his passport was confiscated, leaving him stranded.

Sheikh al-Wahwah is a member of Hizb ut-Tahrir, which is banned in Jordan.

(And its -still- not banned in Australia. Why not?)

  Millions of people are feared to have been allowed into Britain without full passport checks in a major new borders scandal. 

The Australian spokesman for the group, Uthman Badar, said the confiscation was likely on behalf of Jordan’s chief intelligence agency, the General Intelligence Directorate, and emphasised the ”urgent need of a radical and comprehensive change” in the country.

Hizb ut-Tahrir, or party of liberation, formed in 1953 in Jerusalem, has spread to more than 40 countries and has hundreds of thousands of members. Its goal is the creation of a global pan-Islamic state.

If that is the case, why would an Australian government in its right mind allow such  genocidal maniacs to infiltrate the country?

While it advocates achieving that goal through non-violent means, it has been criticised for the fiery rhetoric of some senior members. Its global leader, Ata Abu-Rishta, in 2006 called for the ”destruction” of Jews in Israel, Hindus in Kashmir and and Russians in Chechnya.

‘Too radical for Indonesia”

In 2007, Sheikh al-Wahwah was forced to fly back to Australia from Jakarta after Indonesian authorities refused him entry. He had been planning to speak at an international Hizb ut-Tahrir conference.

A spokeswoman for the Department of Foreign Affairs said it had not received a request for assistance from the Australian embassy in Amman.

Hizb ut-Tahrir is not a peaceful organization any more than Islam is a peaceful religion. The organization’s goal is to impose Islam  and Shar’ ia on non-Muslims by Da’wah. If  non-Muslims reject the Da’wah then the Caliphate is obliged to use jihad to remove the obstacle. Hizb ut-Tahrir must be exposed and stopped.

Islamic spokesmen in the West are fighting against anti-Sharia laws in various states by assuring people that Muslims in non-Muslim polities must obey the laws — as if this means that they shouldn’t or wouldn’t try to implement Sharia. Yet Hizb ut-Tahrir wants Sharia rule all across Asia, the Middle East and North Africa. This would mean the toppling of many governments that do not implement the fullness of Islamic law. Will Western Islamic spokesmen stand up and explain how Hizb ut-Tahrir has gotten Islam all wrong, wrong, wrong?

Hizbut Tahrir, a global Islamist party banned in many Muslim states, said on Friday that Pakistanis should take to the streets to call for Islamic rule and join a campaign to end subservience to Washington that was advancing “from Indonesia to Tunisia.”The party, which says it is non-violent but is accused by some analysts of seeking a coup in Islamabad, added that “powerful factions” in Pakistani society including the military should also take part, but violence had no place in its work.

Hizbut Tahrir won international attention when Pakistan’s army said on June 22 it was questioning four majors about alleged links to the party, following the arrest in May of a brigadier suspected of having such ties. Brig. Ali Khan, whose lawyer has denied the allegations, was the highest-ranking serving officer arrested in a decade. [...]

In an interview, party spokesman Taji Mustafa said the party sought to emulate the creation of the first Islamic state in what is now Saudi Arabia by “winning public opinion in favour of Islam” through discussions, marches and rallies.

The party worked “to motivate all sections of society to express their determined will, such that they take to the streets and demand the Islamic Caliphate system.”

The party and its goal of an Islamic ruler, or Caliph, who implements Shariah law posed no threat to Pakistan, said Mustafa, based in Britain, where the party is not banned.

“The threat to Pakistan comes from Zardari, Kayani and Gilani who support drone strikes that kill their own citizens, and who collude with a US-led war of terror,” he said, referring to the president, army chief and prime minister. [...]

The party’s Pakistan branch issued a statement earlier in June saying Muslims all over the world, or the “Ummah”, were looking to Pakistan’s army to provide support for the party’s goal of setting up an Islamic state, or Caliphate (Khilafah).

Asked to comment, Mustafa said the party’s search for their support was not aimed at obtaining armed backing since that “contradicts our method for bringing about change.”

“Seeking nusrah (support) was a practice of Prophet Mohammad when he worked to establish the first Islamic state in Medina,” he said. “It is to ask the powerful factions in society – including the military – to support our call for the implementation of the Khilafah system, to side with the people and to stop propping up the current treacherous regime which is using the military to fight its own citizens as it supports America’s war and drone strikes – something that is hugely unpopular.”

Mustafa said that globally the party operated in more than 40 countries, both Muslim-majority and -minority countries. It sought to bring the former under a Caliphate. In the latter, it sought to preserve a strong Islamic identity among Muslims.

“Despite the attempts of several Western-backed rulers to ban Hizbut Tahrir in parts of the Muslim world, our call for the Khilafah system is gaining traction by the day from Indonesia to Tunisia,” he said.

His remark echoes those of many Islamist organizations that portray this year’s Arab uprisings against political despotism and economic stagnation as Islamist-inspired. Many Arabs say Islamists have played only a minimal role.

And which side of that dispute is correct is already becoming clear.

A positive outcome – no one is without excuse!

There was something very positive about the publicity surrounding the Islamist group Hizb ut-Tahrir who met in Sydney 3-4 July weekend and it’s from the horse’s mouth. Indeed, they are, who they say they are, and it’s out in the open.

It is all very positive, as now, no politician, no commentator, no citizen (of whatever religion) can ever say they were not warned. Hiz ut-Tahrir’s (HT) set out its objectives clearly and definitively.

Yes, it’s true, they are on a pathway of destruction of all those who do not hold their (religious – political) views, including our western way of life in exchange for an Islamic transnational state run by themselves following their interpretation of Islamic Sharia law.

A feature article in The Australian by respected journalist Sally Neighbour gives the full frightening rendition.

Muslims told to shun democracy
They have called on Australian Muslims to join their struggle, to show absolute disdain on democracy. Sally Neighbour quoted a non-Muslim attendant at the conference, Ervin Zurell, who provoked mild consternation among the audience when he asked why Muslims don’t “go back to the country you came from”. Afterwards Mr Zurell said it was ‘unbelievable” and “frightening”.

This is all very positive as we’re no longer blind to the threat. A female HT delegate, Reem Allouche, said that this is a struggle between two ways of life, two competing ideologies, two civilisations.

Australian HT official, Wassim Dourehi said Muslims in the West must be at the vanguard of the push for a caliphate, which would govern all Muslim majority countries and lands that were previously under Islamic rule, such as Spain and The Philippines.

He implored the audience to spurn the concept of moderate Islam promoted by governments in the West, including Australia, described as “this godforsaken country”.

Moreover, it’s fascinating the organisers chose Sydney as the venue for this vilification of everything non-Islamist. If it had been held in Victoria, one would hope that the same laws that slammed two Christian pastor’s for reading out the Koran’s more alarmist directions to its followers, would have also ‘pinged’ Hizb ut-Tahrir.

They are after young Australian Muslim’s hearts and minds. Many concerned Christians have been aware of these issues, but for many others it was, until now, all very confusing. Now, Hizb ut-Tahrir and their followers have drawn a world view for everyone to see, and how positive is that! Now we know from the horse’s mouth!

Moreover, it’s all in the ‘American Thinker’, an article by Janet Levy’s titled “The narrative of defeat”.

Alan Jones the Sydney Radio 2GB morning talk back host recently interviewed Janet Levy. Janet Levy describes a parallel with WWII, that one could not differentiate between the good and bad German. The politic had to be raised to the ground.

Yet, as a follower of Christ, my commitment is to love those who despise me, and have the indwelling Spirit of Christ in my life. My prayer is that the Holy Spirit will speak into the hearts of those who as yet have not recognised the Salvation of the Lord through Jesus’ death on the Cross and His resurrection the third day.

At the same time there are Scriptures that provide an action response to: ‘evil prevails when good men do nothing’.

Hizb ut-Tahrir justifies the killing of Muslims who do not want to live by sharia law. “He who does not rule by Islam and rules by a kufr [non-Muslim] system should either retract or be killed.”

(Hizb, however, is not simply a fringe group that gets the peaceful Islamic religion all wrong. Hizb is mainstream Islam  (Qur’an:4:95)

HIZB ut-Tahrir , which held its controversial rally in Sydney on Sunday, is not just yet another radical Islamist group.

It is one of the most manipulative and effective recruitment fronts for the Islamic jihad, particularly among the educated Muslim young.

It is precisely because its spokesmen do not appear to be wild-eyed fanatics but are usually highly intelligent and even intellectual that it is so appealing and therefore so dangerous.

But because it takes such care to conceal its links to terror, governments in Australia and Britain, where it has managed to establish a significant and highly troubling presence, find it difficult to deal with it.

Liberal societies are reluctant to ban any organisation unless it can be proved to be connected to terrorism or violence. Since neither Australia nor Britain says it has found any such links, they allow HT to continue to operate while monitoring its activities. Hence Sunday’s meeting in Sydney.

But HT members in other countries have been involved in terrorism, and whatever its protestations to the contrary, the organisation actively promotes and encourages violence.

And since it regards itself as a global movement that does not recognise national boundaries, the comforting fiction that it presents no threat to Australia is particularly otiose.

In Russia, HT has been banned since 2003, when the leaders of its Moscow cell were arrested in possession of plastic explosives, grenades, TNT and detonators. In August 2005, nine members of HT in Russia were convicted of illegal possession of weapons and incitement to racial and religious hatred.

In August 2002, HT in Denmark reportedly offered the equivalent of pound stg. 25,000 to anyone who killed a prominent Danish Jew, producing a hit list of between 15 and 25 leading members of Denmark’s Jewish community. The leader of HT in Denmark, Fadi Ahmad Abdel Latif, was convicted of incitement to racial hatred for distributing a leaflet urging people to “kill them, kill the Jews wherever you find them”.

And last year HT was banned in Bangladesh after the government said it feared the organisation posed “a threat to peaceful life”.

Not only does HT explicitly promote violence in Israel, Afghanistan and Iraq, but it calls on Muslims everywhere to engage in violent jihad.

HT is dedicated to the creation of a single Islamic state, or caliphate, that “will reach the whole world and the rule of the Muslims will reach as far as the day and night”. It believes there is a timeless conflict that governs relations between Muslims and “unbelievers”, a conflict it encourages.

On the Harry’s Place website recently, “Raziq”, a former HT member, wrote that HT’s efforts in Britain are primarily aimed at disrupting the civic and political integration of British Muslims: “They want Muslims to disown citizenship in their hearts, to reject government and all democratic institutions in their minds . . . and to encourage them to work semi-secretly for the return of a lost empire across a massive land base.”

HT makes clear in its literature that peaceful means are not enough to win this conflict and that Muslims are allowed to launch aggressive wars against non-Muslims. Its publications say Islamic religious texts all command Muslims to initiate fighting against disbelievers, “even if they do not initiate [it] against us”.

It even justifies the killing of Muslims who do not want to live by these rules. “He who does not rule by Islam and rules by a kufr [non-Muslim] system should either retract or be killed.”

It also calls on Muslims to fight Jews everywhere, and engages in vicious anti-Jew invective. Last month, HT in Bangladesh issued a press release to advertise a demonstration about the Gaza flotilla which said: “O Muslim armies! Teach the Jews a lesson after which they will need no further lessons. March forth to fight them, eradicate their entity and purify the earth of their filth.”

Its invective radicalises Muslims everywhere to the cause of extremism and jihadi violence.

In Britain, it has had a particularly seismic effect on campus, where its combination of intellectualism, save-the-world idealism and secret-society comradeship has proved devastatingly effective in recruiting even highly westernised students to the jihad.

Britain’s National Union of Students has twice banned HT – in 1994-95 and again in 2004 – holding it “responsible for supporting terrorism and publishing material that incites racial hatred”.

The result has been merely that HT has repeatedly changed its name to continue to spread its message on campus. But the students union’s attempt to stop HT has not been echoed by the British government, although the new Prime Minister, David Cameron, promised in opposition to ban it.

Not only has the government refused until now to proscribe it, but it sometimes inadvertently even channelled public funds to it through front organisations.

And it has taken no legal action against it, despite calls by British Jewish leaders for HT to be prosecuted after it repeatedly called on its website for the killing of Jews and the annihilation of Israel.

Several former HT members in Britain have testified to the extraordinary effectiveness of HT’s manipulative mind games on impressionable Muslim youths, and have been in the forefront of arguing that the British government’s refusal to ban it has been a disaster.

Shiraz Maher, who left HT after the London tube and bus bombings in 2005, says there is a real danger in allowing the group to operate freely, as its words may have inspired terrorist activity. One of Britain’s first suicide bombers, Omar Sharif, was partially radicalised by HT activists at King’s College, London.

Maher also notes that HT targets Britain’s many foreign Muslim students in order to project the party’s message back into the Muslim world, where it is severely curbed by local governments.

That’s why public meetings such as the one in Sydney are so important to HT, not just to radicalise Australian Muslims but to boost the organisation’s ability to recruit to the cause in countries that have banned it because they are only too well aware of the lethal threat it poses.

Democratic countries such as Britain and Australia are rightly very reluctant to clamp down on political expression. But the decision that nothing can be done to ban HT’s “conveyor belt to terror” is disastrously naive.

PROTESTERS held a ”funeral for justice” in Sydney yesterday, complete with coffin, but it may do little to prevent the deportation of the living Muslim preacher they came to save.

Sheikh Mansour Leghaei, whom ASIO accused of undisclosed ”acts of foreign interference”, has to leave by next Sunday – and his last hope of a reprieve has been dashed.

The United Nations Human Rights Committee had asked Immigration Minister Chris Evans to postpone the deportation order while it investigated an alleged breach of human rights for the Iranian sheikh and his family, who have lived in Sydney for 16 years.

But Senator Evans asked the UN committee to lift that interim request, arguing Australia had now granted permanent residency to Dr Leghaei’s wife and son, one of their four children. The minister’s office confirmed on Friday that the committee had withdrawn the request and that Dr Leghaei is expected to leave by the June 27 deadline.

”It makes me sick to the stomach,” said Anglican priest Dave Smith, among the Christian and Muslim supporters of Dr Leghaei who protested at Sydney Town Hall yesterday.

But the committee is still investigating alleged breaches of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, and the government has until October 21 to respond. Dr Leghaei’s lawyer, Navid Sedaghati, hoped the sheikh would be allowed to return to Australia if the UN found in his favour.

Battle lines are drawn

Gathering in Sydney: Muslims who seem to believe our society is at war with them, and in conflict with their faith. Muslims whose goal is an Islamic Caliphate.

If that’s their view, can they complain if non-Muslims feel the importation of more people with their hostile and separatist views is reckless, if not outright dangerous? After all, as even the Rudd Government itself concedes:

A number of Australians are known to subscribe to this (jihadist) message, some of whom might be prepared to engage in violence. Many of these individuals were born in Australia and they come from a wide range of ethnic backgrounds… The scale of the problem will continue to depend on factors such as the size and make-up of local Muslim populations…

Yes, I know the many of these donkeys of Hizb ut Tahrir are just young, inadequate men with all the absolute certainty of book-smart, life-stupid youth, but much damage can be done by such fools before they grow wise. And, of course, some never do…

Incredible: Haringey resumes funding Islamic school with links to Hizb ut Tahrir

Haringey Council – the authority which brought you Victoria Climbié, Baby P, and the foster child sent to live with the family of one of the airline bomb plotters – has scored yet another bullseye. Late this afternoon, with no doubt deliberate timing late on a Friday, the council announced the outcome of its official review into a school run by supporters of the extremist, racist and separatist Islamic group, Hizb ut Tahrir, which received £113,000 of public money. The funding was suspended after I exposed it six weeks ago in the Telegraph.

And the verdict? “No evidence was found to suggest inappropriate content or influence in the school.” Funding has resumed.

The claim that “no evidence was found to suggest inappropriate influence” is breathtaking. Eight days ago, I myself sent – to Haringey Council’s chief press officer, Monica Brimacombe – quite indisputable evidence. She acknowledged receipt and tells me that she passed it on to the people doing the investigation. Read it for yourself at the bottom of this post.

The evidence is a chapter in a Hizb ut Tahrir pamphlet written by one of the three trustees who run the school, Farah Ahmed – who’s also headteacher of the Haringey school’s sister establishment in Slough. Mrs Ahmed has refused to deny that she was a member of Hizb ut Tahrir.

This chapter does more than “suggest inappropriate influence.” It screams it from every page. Mrs Ahmed attacks the religious studies elements of the National Curriculum for “primarily push[ing]…the idea of ‘religious tolerance’.” This, she says, “further aids distancing the Muslim child from the concept of Islam being the only reference point.”

She criticises the curriculum’s “systematic indoctrination” of Muslim children “to build ‘model British citizens’” and to “integrate all individuals into the fabric of secular society and develop them as personalities who uphold the values adopted by the society around them.”

“Naturally,” she says, “such a system [secular capitalism] will not be suitable to the needs of Muslim students as the aqeedah [belief system] of the Muslim is in complete contradiction to this.”

She decries “attempts to integrate Muslim children” into British society as an effort “to produce new generations that reject Islam.”

She describes English as “one of the most damaging subjects” a school can teach and attacks fairy tales, saying these “reflect secular and immoral beliefs that contradict the viewpoint of Islam.”

Mrs Ahmed attacks the “obvious dangers” of Shakespeare, including “Romeo and Juliet, which advocates disobeying parents and premarital relations,” and “Macbeth, which questions the concepts of fate and destiny.” She describes democracy as a “corrupt tradition,” and Western education as “a threat to our beliefs and values.”

I know for a fact that others have also supplied Haringey with the another doucument, the school’s curriculum, which has clear echoes of Hizb ut Tahrir ideology. I ask in all seriousness: what more evidence do they need?

It is my strong suspicion that Labour-controlled Haringey is desperately trying to cover the back of its ultimate political master, the Schools Secretary, Ed Balls, who dropped a massive clanger a couple of weeks ago by backing the schools after they were attacked by David Cameron.

But though Balls may have been stupid, he didn’t have this document in front of him when he gave the schools the all-clear. Haringey Council did. That makes them, in my view, complicit in delivering impressionable young children into the hands of fundamentalists – with a handy Government subsidy to help them on their way.

Hizb ut-Tahrir claims to be a non-violent political party. Its members publicly state this, however critics are not convinced. In this article I look at some of its literature and its stance on the use of violence. BRITISH MAN STABBED IN “No Go Area” – ANOTHER MEDIA IGNORED MUSLIM HATE CRIME

Background
Hizb ut-Tahrir (HT) is a political party established by Taqiuddin al-Nabhani in 1952. Being a former Ba’athist, Nabhani incorporated the organizational principles of Marxism-Leninism into the structure of his new party. The central aim of HT is to unite all Muslim-majority countries into a super-expansionist Islamist state. This is to be done by seizing power in a Muslim-majority country through infiltration of the army and then initiating a military coup, a war by proxy. Once the state is established it will invite other Muslim-majority countries to join, but if they refuse then a war (jihad) will be declared against them and they will be taken over by force. Failed coup attempts by HT in the 1960s led to the loss of much support and membership and today it is banned or viewed with suspicion in all Muslim-majority countries.

So what exactly are its views on the use of violence and is HT dangerous?

Violence and Anti-Semitism
I will begin with a statement issued by Ata Abu Rishta as the official spokesperson of HT (and now its global leader) in Jordan in May 1994, a few weeks before the Cairo Agreement:

“There can be no peaceful relations with the Jews: this is prohibited by Islamic Law. It is also prohibited to settle for only part of Palestine. There can be neither negotiations, co-existence nor normalization of relations with the Jews in Palestine. None of the Jews in Palestine who arrived after the destruction of the Ottoman Empire have the right to remain there. The Islamic legal rule requires that those of whom are capable of fighting be killed until none survive. Any others should be forced to leave. Individual Jews who lived in Palestine (as part of a dhimma community) before the end of the (Ottoman) empire and are not guilty of any violent act against the Muslims can be allowed to stay… however, it is anticipated that none belong in this category. It is impossible to solve the problem of Palestine by peaceful means: what is required is actual war, in the form of Jihad.” (A Fundamental Quest’ Hizb al-Tahrir and the search for the Islamic Caliphate, page 162, Suha Taji-Farouki Grey Seal London)

This is a pretty shocking statement from a supposedly non-violent party. It isn’t just calling for the killing of Zionists- but all Jews in Israel who moved there after the collapse of the Ottoman Empire. HT believes that the Israel/Palestine conflict will never be resolved using peaceful means; the only solution is an aggressive war (jihad). According to HT it is also an obligation for Muslims to fight and abolish the state of Israel:

“Fighting and exterminating Israel is an obligation even if the Muslims fighting are Arab armies loyal to regimes of unbelief, like the Egyptian soldiers when they fought Israel during the Sinai war” (Khilafah Mag U.S edition, Volume 2, Issue 4 – August 1991)

Another interesting dimension in HT’s violent jihad is that it believes terrorist tactics may be employed against countries it is at war with. Their official ruling on the permissibility of hijacking planes states:

“If the plane belongs to a country at war with Muslims, like Israel, it is allowed to hijack it, for there is no sanctity for Israel or for the Jews in it.” (‘The Islamic rule on hijacking aeroplanes’ – 8th April 1988)

It’s important to note here that it’s not just Zionists who have “no sanctity” but all Jews (who happen to be on the aircraft). HT has often been accused of being anti-Semitic, and it’s not difficult to see why. Another official HT leaflet, entitled ‘The Only place between the Muslims and the Jews is the battlefield’, also calls for a violent jihad against all Jews in Israel:

“Clearly, the scandalous and treacherous negotiations must end, the door that leads to the treacherous peace with the Jews must be slammed shut, we must rid ourselves from their bragging, arrogance and contempt of Muslims, and destroy their existence by the lawful Jihad until they are wiped out, and their survivors are left senseless, scattered and despised the world over”. (Leaflet issued on 25 December 1992)

Again, it doesn’t make a distinction between Zionists and Jews because HT believes in killing ‘all’ Jews of fighting age within Israel. I remember asking a senior HT member whether the above leaflet was referring to Zionists or all Jews. He told me: ‘In the Qur’an Allah doesn’t call Jews Zionists but just Jews, so when we say Jews we mean Jews’.

What Type of State?
The Islamist state that HT seeks to create will be a violent expansionist state and jihad, defined by HT as a religiously justified war, will be used to achieve the aims of its foreign policy (i.e. expanding its borders). This is outlined in party literature:

Islam has defined the material action. This action will remove all physical obstacles to the attainment of the noble foreign policy objectives of the Khilafah State. This is Jihad. (Jihad- Foreign Policy of the Khilafah State, Zahid-Ivan Salaam, Pg 51, Khilafah Publications, London, 2001)

And it’s not just Jews whom HT would like to kill; even fellow Muslims who reject their form of Islamist governance are believed to deserve death. This point was elaborated upon by the second global leader of HT, Abdul Qadeem Zallum, who stated:

..thus, he who does not rule by Islam and rules by a Kufr system should either retract or be killed. Thus, the rule by a Kufr system would be prevented even if this led to several years of fighting and even if it led to the killing of millions of Muslims and to the martyrdom of millions of believers. (How the Khilafah Was Destroyed, Pg 199, Al-Khilafah Publications: London, 2000)

Killing millions of people will be a natural occurrence in HT’s proposed Khilafah state because it will be in a state of permanent war (jihad):

“The foreign policy of the Khilafah state is determined by the call to Islam. As the call (dawa) is conveyed by Jihad, the Khilafah state is in the situation of permanent Jihad” (AL-FAJR, Issue 14, March 1989 –Pg 13)

Affiliations
Another point which often gets overlooked is that prior to the establishment of HT as a party, its founder Taqiuddin al-Nabhani was an associate of the Grand Mufti of Palestine, Sheikh Muhammad Hajj Al-Amin Hosseini. Hosseini was a Nazi war collaborator who visited Nazi Germany and Hitler during WW2. This fact has been highlighted by various researchers:

“While one cannot ascertain exactly how they met, it is evident that a relationship of sorts developed between the two men: according to well placed sources in Amman al-Nabhani was considered to belong to Hajj Amin’s camp during the period from 1945 to 1948. (A Fundamental Quest and the search for the Islamic Caliphate, Suha Taji Farouqi, Pg 2, Grey Seal 1st Edition)

“Yet in the party’s early days, al-Nabhani was influenced by Shiekh Muhammad Hajj Al-Amin Husseni, Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and Nazi war collaborator. Party Members have often denied the holocaust, calling it a “tool used by Jews to justify their own hegemony over Muslims in Palestine”. (Hizb ut-Tahrir, Islam’s Political Insurgency, Zayno Baran, Pg 28, The Nixon Center)

This may explain why there is so much hatred for Jews in HT publications.

Conclusion
HT is not a terrorist organisation and it does not plan terrorist operations. However, as we have seen, its method of taking power is through military coups – an inherently violent method – and after the establishment of the Khilafah, it would be happy to use force and even terrorism against its enemies.

“If you read Hizb ut-Tahrir books, you will have the impression that it is a political party that works to assume power, and not an association that confronts the battlefield of life with the goal of actualizing God’s vice regency on earth….This has lost it considerable weight in the struggle.” (Ghazi al Tawba, al Fikr Islami al Mu assir: Dirasah wa Taqwim (Beirut: n.p 1969, 311)

HT is an anti-Semitic extremist Islamist party that believes political violence is justified. It seeks to create a super-expansionist State (khilafah). They will then seek to take over the world, firstly by inviting countries to join them, but if they resist, they will be taken over by force. In their own words:

“The aim of Hizb ut-Tahrir is to resume the Islamic way of life and to carry the Islamic Da’wah, i.e. to achieve the objective of solving the vital issue concerning the Muslims……This would be under the shadow of an Islamic State which is the Khilafah, where Muslims would appoint a Khalifah and pledge to listen to and obey him on the condition that he governs them with the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger, and on condition that he carries Islam as a message to the world by invitation and Jihad.” (The Methodology of Hizb ut-Tahrir for change, Al-Khilafah Publications, Pg 24, 1999)

Despite its claims to the contrary, HT’s message is one of violence, not peace.

The left does not understand the way nations outside of western civilisation think.  This is one of their main problems.  They think that these nations hate America and its friends for the same reasons they do.  But they are wrong.  The reason these other nations dislike America is because they are natural enemies of democracy and other Western values.  The left thinks these nations are on the same politically correct bandwagon as themselves.  This is a major mistake. I have travelled a fair bit, and one thing I’ve noticed in non-western countries is that the majority of people I talk to don’t even know what political correctness is.  Furthermore, when I try to explain it to them they go cross-eyed; as they should; it’s total lunacy.

The point is this.  When the parents arrive here, they still have the fear of government ingrained in them, even though it’s an infidel government.  Their children however, grow up in our countries and realise how soft we are.  On one side they have been brought up with the hatred taught to them in their own homes; on the other side they see the self loathing propaganda in our own media and schools which reveals our weaknesses.  This is a recipe for disaster.

On July 19^th, a conference entitled “The Fall of Capitalism and the Rise of Islam” took place as scheduled at the Hilton Hotel in Oak Lawn, Illinois, a Chicago suburb.  There, in the heartland of a post 9/11America, Hizb-ut Tahrir, an international organization outlawed as a terrorist group in several European and Middle East countries, sponsored sessions focusing on strategies to end free enterprise and replace it with Shari’ah law.

It is remarkable enough that a conference of this nature by a group that advocates the overthrow of the U.S. government actually took place in an American city.  Perhaps even more disturbing is the growing number of cancellations of events and conferences that feature the opposite point of view with material and speakers that seek to educate the public about the threat of radical Islam. Increasingly, our country’s prized right to freedom of speech seems to operate in only one direction, providing plenty of opportunities for our enemies to speak openly against us, yet, placing a gag over any discussion about the radical Islam threat.

Here are some disturbing recent examples.

New English Review Symposium

In 1998, co-founder Omar Ahmad declared, “Islam isn’t in America to be equal to any other faith, but to become dominant.”  He added, “The Koran should be the highest authority in America, and Islam the only accepted religion on Earth.” 

In April this year, the Florida Security Council (FSC), a non-profit national security education organization, signed a contract with the Del Ray Beach Marriott to hold a Free Speech Summit at the hotel.  The conference, which was to have featured Dutch parliamentarian and filmmaker, Geert Wilders, was cancelled just prior to the scheduled event due to “security concerns.” Wilders has been a crusader for free speech and has spoken out about the threat of Islamic extremism resulting in numerous threats on his life and necessitating a 24-hour guard.  In 2008, Wilders released “Fitna,” a film about Islam featuring a series of quotations from the Koran juxtaposed with current day actions by Muslims whose behaviors are rooted in the cited Koranic passages.  Members of the U.S. Congress viewed the film in March and more than one million people have seen it online.

When the alleged security concerns proved to be nonexistent, the Florida Security Council filed a suit in June against the Del Mar Marriott for breach of contract. It intends to use the discovery process to clarify the reasons behind the event cancellation.  

Conservative Political Action Conference

In February 2009, a representative from the Washington, D.C.-based, Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) informed a conservative West Coast think tank that the topic of jihad was off limits at the annual event attended by 7,000 conservatives from around the country.  At the previous CPAC meeting in 2008, Islamic expert Robert Spencer had been a featured speaker.  But, a year later, when it was discovered that Dutch parliamentarian Geert Wilders would be in Washington at the time of the conference and a request was made to offer him an opportunity to speak to 2009 conference attendees, event organizers claimed that scheduling conflicts precluded their ability to include Wilders in the program. 

It is critical to note that the Islamic Free Market Institute (a.k.a. Islamic Institute) was a co-sponsor of the 2009 conference.  In 1999, the organization’s founder, Grover Norquist, received $20,000 in donations from now-convicted terrorist Abdurahman Alamoudi.  Alamoudi, the founder of the American Muslim Council, had provided chaplains for the Department of Defense and pled guilty to helping organize the assassination of Prince Abdullah of Saudi Arabia using money supplied by Moamar Gaddafi of Libya.  In addition, Norquist’s Islamic Institute was a sponsor of a 2000 anti-Israel rally at the White House in which Muslim leaders publicly expressed their support for terrorist groups Hamas and Hezbollah. 

In 2005, The Georgetown Marriott refused to host a symposium on counterterrorism sponsored by America’s Truth Forum (ATF), formerly known as People’s Truth Forum, a non-profit organization dedicated to educating Americans about national security threats.  The ATF hosts a website featuring articles from mainstream media sources and had planned a series of panels featuring top experts in the field of counterterrorism.  ATF’s conference was rejected by the Georgetown Marriott Conference Center on the grounds that the organization was too controversial, the venue was inappropriate for the topic and heightened security would be necessary to protect hotel guests.  The following statement was issued by Marriott’s corporate office: “Due to the high density of Muslim students on campus, we’re afraid of the potential for violent protests, injured employees and damage to the facility.” 

Shortly thereafter, CAIR hosted its 11^th Annual Banquet at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, Virginia.  Not only have several CAIR officials been convicted and deported by the United States for terrorist activity, but a 2005 invited speaker, Siraj Wahhaj, is an unindicted co-conspirator in the first World Trade Center bombing of 1993.  Apparently, a group with established connections to terrorism is a non-controversial organization for the Marriott Corporation. 

Conclusions

It is unconscionable in 2009 that an acceptable forum in America today is a conference entitled, “The Fall of Capitalism and the Rise of Islam,” with a goal of strategizing the demise of the bedrock of our democracy – the free enterprise system – and the replacement of our constitution with a theo-political-legal system that subjugates women, murders homosexuals, confers non-person status on non-Muslims, permits slavery and kills apostates. At the same time, attempts to discuss Islamic doctrine and educate the American public about this very threat are increasingly verboten.  In many recent instances, accurate speech is being deemed inflammatory due to fear of retaliation by those who want to silence critics of Islam who engage in legitimate discussion of a serious threat to our nation. 

How this threat plays out in everyday life can be illustrated by the city of Nashville, Tennessee, which provides an interesting example of the exercise of one-way free speech and the accompanying extreme accommodation of those with whom we disagree.  Thanks to the largesse of the State department’s Refugee Resettlement Program, which offers housing, jobs, welfare and an abundance of social services for program recipients, at least 50% of whom are Muslim, Nashville has over 20,000 Muslims from Iraq, Somalia and the Sudan.  Six known mosques exist in Nashville, as does a Muslim graveyard, a madrassa, a Muslim Boy Scout troop and chapters of the Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated Muslim Student Association and Muslim American Society.  According to a local psychiatrist, the Nashville Muslim community has evidenced polygamy, child marriage, female genital mutilation and wife beating. Crimes such as drug-dealing, money-laundering, murder, rape and Medicare and grant fraud are occurring at alarming rates. Many of these behaviors are grounded in value systems that are contrary to our own, yet anyone pointing this out would be subject to accusations of “intolerance.”

In this and other ways, attempts to curtail the speech and assembly of critics of Islam portends a grave threat to the First Amendment protections that are vital to preserving our cherished liberty and freedom and safeguarding us from totalitarianism and tyranny.  If we are unable to speak freely and openly about the radical Islamic threat presently confronting our country while Islamists are given the freedom to gather and plot the overthrow of our system of government and spout hateful rhetoric and propaganda, an Islamic government under Shari’ah law will surely be our fate.

Since the Chicago press has been largely silent on the upcoming Hizb ut-Tahrir conference in Oak Law (their first major meeting in the U.S.), citizens who may be concerned that an Islamic supremacist/indoctrination group is meeting in their backyard are forced to research this group ourselves.  

They may want to start here. The Heritage Foundation issued a report on Hizb ut-Tahrir in 2003, calling it “an emerging threat to US interests in Central Asia.” An excerpt:

Hizb has called for a jihad against the U.S., its allies, and moderate Muslim states. The purpose of the jihad is “to find and kill the Kufar (non-believers),” in fact rejecting the Islamic notion of Greater Jihad against one’s own as a sin.19

In documents drafted before 9/11, Hizb leaders accused the United States of imposing hegemony on the world. After 9/11, Hizb claimed that the U.S. had declared war against the global Muslim community (Umma), had established an international alliance under the “pretext” of fighting terrorism, and was reinforcing its grip on the countries of Central Asia. Hizb further claimed that the U.S. accused Osama bin Laden of being responsible for the 9/11 attacks “without any evidence or proof.”

The party attempted to use its influence by calling upon all Muslim governments to reject the U.S. appeal for cooperation in the war against terrorism.20 It called for expulsion of U.S. and Western citizens, including Western diplomats, from countries in which it will take power and shredding diplomatic treaties and agreements with Western governments.It further declared:

Muslims! You are religiously obliged to reject this American question which takes you lightly and despises you. America does not have the sublime values that entitle it to tell you what to support and whom to fight against. You possess a divine mission. You are the ones to bring guidance and light to mankind. God described you with the following words: “You are the best people brought forth for the benefit of mankind. You enjoin good and forbid evil. And you believe in God.”

As for Jihad…it is legal, in fact it is an obligation, it is the apex of Islamic ethics, as Almighty God says, “Keep in store for them whatever you are capable of, force and equipment with which you can frighten those who are enemies of God and enemies of yourselves….” God’s Messenger (Mohammed) said, “Islam is the head, prayer is the backbone and Jihad is the perfection.”

Muslims! The law of religion does not allow you to give to America what it is trying to impose upon you. You are not allowed to follow its orders or to provide it with any assistance whatsoever, no matter whether it be intelligence or facilities of using your territory, your air space or your territorial waters. It is not permissible to cede military bases to the Americans, nor it is allowed to coordinate any military activities with them or to collaborate with them. It is not allowed to enter into an alliance with them or to be loyal to them, because they are enemies of Islam and Muslims. God said, “Believers, Do not befriend my enemy and your enemy…. They have rejected the truth that has come to you.”21

In a June 2001 article published in the party’s journal, Hizb ideologists claim that all methods are justified in the struggle against the unbelievers, including murder. They specifically mention that a pilot’s diving a plane hit by enemy fire into a crowd of unbelievers without bailing out with a parachute is a legitimate form of armed struggle. Hizb also demands that Muslims come to the support of the Taliban regime in Afghanistan.
