“Many women who do not dress modestly … lead young men astray, corrupt their chastity and spread adultery in society, which increases earthquakes,” Hojatoleslam Kazem Sedighi was quoted as saying by Iranian media.
“Shia and Sunni are brothers; those dividing them are traitors,” the crowd of Shiite worshippers chanted. [they do this, of course, because they are afraid of the Sunnis and want to proclaim a Muslim unity that does not exist]– Hugh Fitzgerald
CAIRO (Reuters) – Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was both kissed and scolded on Tuesday when he began the first visit to Egypt by an Iranian president since Tehran’s 1979 Islamic revolution.
“The men, including a Syrian, belong to the ultra-conservative Sunni Salafist movement.” As I was saying. “4 arrested in Egypt after shoe thrown at Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad,” by Ayman Mohyeldin for NBC News, February 6:

In FrontPage today I discuss how Ahmadinejad’s visit to Egypt shows again why the Muslim world will never be united — except in hatred of Israel.
the first visit to Egypt by a President of Iran since the founding of the Islamic Republic of Iran in 1979. President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad arrived in Egypt Tuesday to an enthusiastic welcome from Egypt’s President Mohammed Morsi and top Egyptian officials. Yet underneath the kisses and expressions of mutual regard, the visit revealed yet again how deep the divisions are in the Islamic world – and why Sunnis and Shi’ites may only be able to unite on the basis of their mutual hatred of Israel.
Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, The Supreme Leader of Iran, the Shia Grand Ayatollah, 1979-89 said in his official statements:
“A man can quench his sexual lusts with a child as young as a baby. However, he should not penetrate. Sodomizing the baby is halal (ALLOWED BY SHARIA). If the man penetrates and damages the child, then he should be responsible for her subsistence all her life. This girl, however, does not count as one of his four permanent wives. The man will not be eligible to marry the girl’s sister. It is better for a girl to marry when her menstruation starts, and at her husband’s house rather than her father’s home. Any father marrying his daughter so young will have a permanent place in heaven.”
Gimme a break! We’ve done the dialogue thing for 30 years and all we got is lies, threats and deceit. Its over, Ahmet! Go home!

Daniel Pipes: “The Public is Receiving Much Disinformation”
Daniel Pipes, president of the Middle East Forum, gave an interview with conservative political activist, Ezra Levant, as was reported by Israel Matzav, the popular blogspot for issues regarding Israel and the Middle East.
Regarding the continually deteriorating situation in Syria, Daniel Pipes stated that it is only a matter of weeks or months until the Syrian “tyranny” topples. He noted, as others have written, that the most important aspect, from a strategic point of view, is that a regime change in Syria will almost certainly result in the breaking of the Syrian alliance with Iran, which will cause “a real blow” to the Iranian regime. As of now, Iran uses their relationship with Syria as a means of transferring arms and money to Hizbullah and Hamas, and gaining influence in “the heart of the Middle East.”
Iran’s morality police are cracking down on the sale of Barbie dolls to protect the public from what they see as pernicious western culture eroding Islamic values, shopkeepers said on Monday.
As the West imposes the toughest ever sanctions on Iran and tensions rise over its nuclear program, inside the country the Barbie ban is part of what the government calls a “soft war” against decadent cultural influences.
“About three weeks ago the morality police came to our shop, asking us to remove all the Barbies,” said a shopkeeper in a toy store in northern Tehran.
Iran’s religious rulers first declared Barbie, made by U.S. company Mattel, un-Islamic in 1996, citing its “destructive cultural and social consequences.”
Despite the ban, the doll has until recently been openly on sale in Tehran shops.
The new order, issued about three weeks ago, forced shopkeepers to hide the leggy, busty blonde behind other toys as a way of meeting popular demand for the dolls while avoiding being closed down by the police.
“My daughter prefers Barbies. She says Sara and Dara are ugly and fat,”
Sara and Dara, ugly and fat
A range of officially approved dolls launched in 2002 to counter demand for Barbie have not proven successful, merchants told Reuters.
The case “should be an eye-opener for world leaders,” but it won’t be.

The Iranian football federation has scrutinized controversial footage of Persepolis defender Mohammed Nosrati (below, left) squeezing teammate Sheis Rezaei’s (right) firm buttocks following a goal during the Persian Gulf Cup, and ruled that the two players be fined $40,000 each and “banned indefinitely from all football activities for committing immoral acts.”– More frrom the Daily Mail
