UK Imam Jailed for Beating Child with Stick…

A RELIGIOUS leader has been jailed for punching and kicking a nine-year-old boy, then beating him with a bamboo stick.

Gulam Hussain, 44, of Knotts Green Road, in Leyton, was jailed for 12 weeks today at Walthamstow Magistrates’ Court after pleading guilty to common assault by beating.

Moroccan Military Raids Bible Study, Detains Children…

Order to detain 18 nationals, deport U.S. citizen apparently came from highest levels.
MARSEILLES, France, February 9 (CDN) — A large, military-led team of Moroccan authorities raided a Bible study in a small city southeast of Marrakech last week, arresting 18 Moroccans and deporting a U.S. citizen, area Christian leaders said. (I’m sure it was only for their own safety…/ed)

Interesting statement:

The fight against Christian proselytizing in accordance with law cannot be considered among human rights abuses,” the Moroccan government spokesman said, “for it is an action aimed at preventing attempts to undermine the country’s immutable religious values. The freedom of belief does not mean conversion to another religion.”

Discrimination and Intolerance in Saudi Arabia

It took the Turks nearly 500 years to wipe out the unbelievers, why change now? Turkey is already 99.9 % Islamic, but in Islam,  there is ‘no tolerance’ for unbelievers:

Although Turks identify themselves as religiously tolerant, they do not behave that way in practice, according to a survey. There has been an increase in the number of people identifying themselves as religious since 1999, which might be related to the political atmosphere in Turkey, an academic says:

Turkish people strongly identify themselves as religious and also regard religion as a source of tolerance. But when it comes to religious worship, a significant number are not as tolerant of people from other religions, concludes a survey released Tuesday.

Majority of Turkish Cypriots want two states

A majority of Turkish Cypriots want two separate and independent states in Cyprus, according to a survey conducted by the Quality Search, Consultancy and Education Center, or KADEM.

Some 77.9 percent of respondents said they want two separate states on the conflict-divided island, while 63 percent did not believe talks between the Turkish and Greek Cypriot presidents would lead to a successful reunification of the island.

The survey asked respondents how they would vote if the Annan Plan were resubmitted to a referendum: 30.1 percent said “yes,” 45.1 percent said “no” and 20.9 percent were undecided.

When the Annan Plan went to a referendum on April 24, 2004, 65 percent of Turkish Cypriots approved the plan.

In addition, 4 percent of respondents were against the current situation, 48.5 percent did not want integration with Turkey while 42.6 percent supported such integration.

The KADEM research company conducted the survey with 1,114 people.
