Islamophobia in New York City: Muslim cabbie runs over two of his passengers

There have been several other suspicious incidents involving Muslim drivers over the last few years. Hassan Daly, a 52-year-old described as a “devout Muslim,” plowed his cab into a crowd on a sidewalk in San Diego, injuring over 24 people. Mohammed Reza Taheri-Azar explicitly grounded his hit-and-run in the teachings of the Koran. Munir Muthana told the police who arrested him that “the Muslims will fix this country.”Omeed Aziz Popal, we were told, was suffering from stress from an arranged marriage. Ismail Yassin Mohamed, we were informed, was mentally ill, suffered from depression, and hadn’t being taking his medication. And Muhammad Teshale, according to “law enforcement officials,” “did it to be famous.”

Coincidence or jihad? Certainly there are a lot of hit-and-run and incidents involving people hit by cars that have nothing to do with Muslims, but in the cases listed here there is a degree of intentionality in these that we do not usually see.

Note that Zogby is writing this in a Paki paper. Pakistan is almost entirely Muslim. There is no “Islamophobia” there, and Muslims experience no alienation. And yet jihad activity is quite common there. Now, why is that?    (Zogby’s imaginary Islamophobia /read it all)

Early Sunday morning, four men hailed a cab in Manhattan and asked to go to the Bronx. The cabdriver refused, and then ran two of them over with his taxi, sending them to the hospital, according to the New York City Police Department.Just before 4 a.m., the four men got into the cab in Midtown Manhattan, the police said.

“I told the taxi driver, to the Bronx; he lets us in, and then we go in and he says I’m only taking you two blocks,” Frank Lembo, one of the four passengers, told Eyewitness News.

The cabdriver, Mohammed Azam, 27, suggested they drive to a nearby police precinct station, Precinct 18 Midtown North on West 54th Street, to ask if he did, in fact, have to take the men to the Bronx. The police said they told him that he did, but when the men went back outside, police officials said, the driver hit two of them with his cab at the corner of West 54th Street and Eighth Avenue….

Mr. Azam was arrested and charged with one count of vehicular assault and three counts of leaving the scene of an accident, according to the Police Department.

Another passenger, Joe Hladki, told Eyewitness News that he could not understand why it happened.

“There’s no money,” he said, “nothing.”…

“He did it to be famous”- you see. Nothing to do with Islam, as usual. Only greasy Islamophobes like us would try to connect the dots….. and yet, something tells us that these perfectly good Muslims are suffering from what we call ‘Sudden Jihad Syndrome’

If he had not done this, however, I’m sure the mainstream media would have constructed a non-Islamic explanation for what he did. Munir Muthana came close, telling the police who arrested him that “the Muslims will fix this country.” Still, no mainstream media source made any connection between his hit-and-run and jihad. Omeed Aziz Popal, we were told, was suffering from stress from an arranged marriage. And Ismail Yassin Mohamed, we were informed, was mentally ill, suffered from depression, and hadn’t being taking his medication.

And now we have Muhammad Teshale, and while Corinne Geller here says that “there is no indication of motive,” the story below also says that “law enforcement officials” in Rochester are saying that Teshale said he “did it to be famous.”

Maybe that is all there is to it, and maybe all the other explanations for Muslim hit-and-run drivers offered above are accurate, but it is a mounting series of curious coincidences that these Muslims seem to have become unhinged in exactly the same way and expressed their madness, or desire for fame, in exactly the same way.

Iraqi Soldier Kills Two U.S. Troops

Soldier kills two US troops and wounds nine after a quarrel erupted in army camp in country’s north.

BAGHDAD — An Iraqi soldier sprayed gunfire at American troops guarding one of their commanders as he visited an Iraqi military base on Tuesday and killed two of them, the first U.S. servicemen to die since President Barack Obama declared an official end to combat operations in the country last week.

“This is a tragic and cowardly act and is certainly not reflective of the Iraqi security forces,” said Maj. Gen. Tony Cucolo, the American commander in charge of U.S. forces in northern Iraq.

The shooting comes two days after a a suicide attack on an Iraqi army complex in Baghdad killed 12 people and wounded 29 others.

Nine people are dead in a workplace shooting in Manchester at Hartford Distributors, a family-owned beer and wine wholesaler, according to state police.

Sources said Omar S. Thornton, 34, was a driver for the company and was described by a Teamsters Union official as a recent hire and a “disciplinary problem.”

“The union was bringing him in to meet with the company to remedy the problem,” said John Hollis, a Teamsters official. “He started shooting.”     Gateway Pundit

Abdul Hakim Muhammad, the man who killed one soldier and wounded another at a Army recruiting center in Little Rock last year, attempted to firebomb the rabbi of a synagogue in Nashville before he paid his murderous visit to Little Rock. This news has been publicly revealed for the first time, based on revelations in a psychiatric evaluation of Mr. Muhammad.

For the learned analysts, of course,  the “soldier fled leaving his motive unclear”….

WoJ readers might be able to help them out with that “motive” mystery. But heaven forbid that anyone connects the dots!  Infidel blood is cheap in the age of the Muslim POTUS Obama:

“Earlier this month, an Afghan soldier killed three British service members with gunfire and a rocket-propelled grenade and in November, an Afghan policeman killed five British soldiers at a checkpoint in Helmand.”

And here is yet another. The rate of various failures of discipline among Afghan soldiers — defections, disappearances (including those 46 or more who have disappeared in the U.S. after coming here for “training”), and outright murder should point to far more at work here than the official story of a developing country getting its bearings and facing some bumps in the road. But as always, there is the ideological component of jihad, together with a pervasive disregard for non-Sharia law, that constitute a persistent “elephant in the room.”

“last year alone there have been at least a dozen separate cases of Afghan soliders suddenly turning on their US/UK/NATO ‘comrades’ and killing them. After each one we get the usual “…this is a lone individual who does not in any way represent the heroic Afghan soldiers..” Nonsense.”

Kabul, 21 July (AKI) – Two American civilians and two Afghan soldiers were killed Tuesday on a military base in northern Afghanistan, NATO said.

The attacker – an Afghan soldier at the base outside Mazar-e-Sharif -opened fire during a weapons exercise, NATO said in a statement. The shooter was among those killed.

NATO and Afghan authorities will conduct a joint investigation into the incident, according to Afghan defence ministry spokesman Gen. Mohammad Zahir Azimi.

The soldier fled after that attack, leaving his motive unclear, according to a news report.

No information about the American civilians was immediately available but contractors commonly work on military bases.

Earlier this month, an Afghan soldier killed three British service members with gunfire and a rocket-propelled grenade and in November, an Afghan policeman killed five British soldiers at a checkpoint in Helmand.

Shaanxi is a Muslim province in china. Recently, after a crackdown by the authorities there have been increasing attacks on schools and kindergartens, many children have been hacked to death.

If it acts like a Muslim and hacks like a Muslim…

A man with a kitchen cleaver hacked to death seven kindergarten students and a teacher in northwest China on Wednesday, before returning home and committing suicide, state media said.

Officials do not yet know what prompted the 48-year-old man to attack students at a private school in Shaanxi province. (Oh let me guess) It was at least the fourth such attack on school children in the last month.

Perhaps he was ” the child who couldn’t meet his parents’ expectations,” perhaps he was behind with his mortgage payments: “Foreclosures generate an enormous amount of misery and anxiety and depression that can tip people into all sorts of dangerous behaviors…” I guess we nee to ask  amateur psychologists  like Geraldo and Ezra Klein  to figure it out for us. Its just toooo hard…..

The Wednesday morning incident left five boys, two girls and a female teacher dead, said the Xinhua news agency. In addition, 11 children and an adult were wounded in the attack. Among them were two children who were hospitalized in serious condition, Xinhua said.

China has seen a spate of attacks at schools in recent weeks.

On April 30, a man armed with a hammer injured five preschool children in east China before setting himself on fire in a classroom suicide, a government spokesman told Xinhua news agency. The attacker held two children in his arms as he poured gasoline over himself, the spokesman said. Teachers in Weifang City, Shandong province, pulled the children away as the man died, the spokesman said.

On April 29, at least 28 children were injured when a man with a knife attacked a kindergarten in east China, state media said. Most of the victims were four-year-olds. Police arrested a 47-year-old suspect. The incident happened in Taixing city in Jiangsu province.

And on April 28 a man attacked 18 students and a teacher with a knife at a primary school in southern China’s Guangdong province, Xinhua said.

The attacks come despite the April execution of Zheng Minsheng, 42, a former community doctor who stabbed eight children to death and wounded five others at an elementary school in eastern China on March 23.

Zheng, executed by a firing squad in Nanping City late last month, told investigators he carried out the attack because he was frustrated by “failures in his romantic life and in society,” according to Xinhua.

Daniel Pipes:  You can’t win a war if you don’t have the courage to name the enemy.

When news comes of Muslims engaging in violence, the triad of politicians, law enforcement, and media invariably presumes that the perpetrator suffers from some mental or emotional incapacity. (For a quick listing of examples, see my collection at “Sudden Jihad or ‘Inordinate Stress’ at Ft. Hood?“).

Instead, I argue, they should begin with a presumption of jihadi intent. That is, the default expectation should be ideological passion, not insanity. Spreading Islam and applying Islamic law are the goals. Of course, some crazy Muslims exist and they do engage in violence, but they constitute a microscopic percentage of the 15,247 Muslim terrorist incidents since 9/11, as counted bywww.thereligionofpeace.com.

The failed effort to blow up an SUV in New York’s Times Square prompted speculation about the would-be bomber’s motives even before the identity of Faisal Shahzad, an immigrant from Pakistan, had been made public. The Nation‘s Robert Dreyfuss discounted the possibility of a jihadi from the Pakistan-based Taliban, “it seems far more likely to me [he] was either a lone nut job or a member of some squirrely branch of the Tea Party, anti-government far right.”

Then, just hours after Shahzad had been arrested, authorities rushed to assure the public his action had nothing to do with Islam. Examples from May 4:

• Mike Bloomberg, mayor of New York City: the bomb could have been placed by “somebody with a political agenda who doesn’t like the health care bill or something. It could be anything.”
• Mahkdoom Qureshi, Pakistan’s foreign minister: “This is a blow back [for U.S. military activities in Pakistan]. This is a reaction. This is retaliation. And you could expect that. Let’s not be naive. They’re not going to sort of sit and welcome you eliminate them. They’re going to fight back.”
• Nadeem Haider Kiani, spokesman for the Pakistani embassy in Washington: it’s too soon to tell exactly what motivated the bomber but early indications suggest he is “a disturbed individual.”
• Cable News Network: “It can confirmed that his house has been foreclosed in recent years. I mean, one would have to imagine that brought a lot of pressure and a lot of heartache on that family.”
• CBS News: “It isn’t clear if more suspects are at large OR what the motive could be.”
• The Washington Post: Under the title, “The economic crisis meets terrorism,” Ezra Klein notes that Shahzad’s house was foreclosed and comments: “This guy is like string theory for the media: He brings together the seemingly incompatible stories that drove the past decade. That said, you of course don’t want to speculate on why someone ‘really’ did something. The hearts of men are opaque, and motives are complex.”

Comments:

(1) Some of these interpretations say the motives are mysterious, some of them speculate about one thing or another – but all assiduously avoid the elephant in the room.

(2) You can’t win a war if you don’t have the courage to name the enemy.

(3) Naming the enemy means changing some of the more pleasant aspects of Western life, and so is tough to do.

(4) I expect that naming the enemy will occur only after a cataclysm ends our patience with minced words.

Haq, like virtually all other jihadists, played the victim, blaming inadequate mental health care. He was singing a different tune when he called his family after the shootings – back then he called himself a “soldier of Islam.”

He blamed mental illness instead of Islam?  Islam is the mental illness that afflicted this c*nt. His condition is called  Sudden Jihad Syndrome.

The only known treatment is called apostacy (leaving Islam).

Naveed Haq was sentenced to life in prison this morning for barging into the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle 3 ½ years ago, killing one woman and wounding five others amid an anti-Israel tirade.Addressing the court for the first time, Haq blamed the shootings on mental illness and lack of treatment.

“I understand you are angry,” said Haq, 34. “The tragedy wouldn’t have occurred if it wasn’t for bad medical care and mental illness.”

Haq apologized for the attack “from the depth of my being.”

“I am not a man filled with hate,” said the Tri-Cities man. “That Naveed Haq at the Federation that July day was not the real Naveed Haq.”…
