Its a ‘controversial’ fatwa of course, but it comes from a former dean of Al Azahr university, this great beacon of Muhammedan science in the Middle East:
Cairo – An Egyptian cleric’s controversial fatwa claiming that nudity during sexual intercourse invalidates a marriage has uncovered a rift among Islamic scholars.
* Al-Azhar University (the highest center of Sunni Islamic learning in the world) has issued a fatwa declaring that if a husband and wife are completely naked during sex, the marriage is annulled.
According to the religious edict issued by Rashad Hassan Khalil, a former dean of Al-Azhar University’s faculty of Sharia (or Islamic law), “being completely naked during the act of coitus annuls the marriage”.
Is it okay like this, mufti?
The religious decree sparked a hot debate on the private satellite network Dream’s popular religious talk show and on the front page of Sunday’s Al-Masri Al-Yom, Egypt’s leading independent daily newspaper.
Suad Saleh, who heads the women’s department of Al-Azhar’s Islamic studies faculty, pleaded for “anything that can bring spouses closer to each other” and rejected the claim that nudity during intercourse could invalidate a union.
During the live televised debate, Islamic scholar Abdel Muti dismissed the fatwa: “Nothing is prohibited during marital sex, except of course sodomy.”
For his part, Al-Azhar’s fatwa committee chairman Abdullah Megawar argued that married couples could see each other naked but should not look at each other’s genitalia and suggested they cover up with a blanket during sex.
Islam is the stupidest cult in the world. No wonder they have to kill anyone who criticizes, questions or leaves Islam. We could destroy by Islam by mocking Islam in every way but instead we praise and respect it.
These guys are quite amusing. They complain about how permissive the West is regarding sex and yet I can’t find any other group that constantly brings up the subject (always via fatwa it seems) like Muslims do.
Once again the legend and truth warrior aka sheik yer m’ami has showed that our crude cousins have not got a clue…in Judaism the law is that a man and wife must (ideally,if there is no danger of cold or any other risk such as an open wound etc) be naked during their love making. That is becasue God in His abounding kindness has allowed us to gain maximum pleasure from being intimate with our spouses, doing this increases the love and passion in a marriage, making the couple happier and thereby more successful and effective parteners and parents.
The good things on this world are there to enjoy healthily and in moderation.
If indeed this is the Muslim view it shows an unhealthy view of the world ie that we must be ‘better’ than God,by imposing irrational laws on ourselves. How about as a start in life ,try preserving and defending it, not taking it, crushing it and blowing it up.
