“Killer cop well suited to be on the street”

Lawyers for Muslim cop who killed unarmed woman call for autopsy to see if victim was on Ambien

Like so many Muslims before him, it looks as if Mohamed Noor has opted to defend himself by blaming the victim.

According to Drugs.com, “Ambien (zolpidem) is a sedative, also called a hypnotic. Zolpidem affects chemicals in the brain that may be unbalanced in people with sleep problems insomnia). Ambien is used to treat insomnia….Ambien may impair your thinking or reactions….Some people using this medicine have engaged in activity such as driving, eating, walking, making phone calls, or having sex and later having no memory of the activity.”

That Noor’s lawyers would choose this scurrilous course of action is astounding, but not at all surprising.

The mayor of Minneapolis where an Australian woman was shot dead by a police officer on Saturday has said the killing ‘should never have happened’.

Justine Damond was killed by officer Mohamed Noor outside her home after calling the police to report a suspected sexual assault.

It was dark and Noor, a rookie on the force, opened fire after seeing her move towards the car but apparently without knowing who she was. Neither his bodycam nor the bodycam that his partner was wearing was turned on at the time so there is no footage of the incident….

Noor has offered no public comment on the killing. Friends of the officer spoke to DailyMail.com this week to say they had since learned that he was ‘startled’ by the woman as she approached the patrol car he was in and that was why he shot….

The rookie cop’s lawyer has called for an independent autopsy to be carried out to determine whether or not she had the sleeping aid Ambien in her system when she died.

His lawyer has also floated the narrative that Noor believed he was being ambushed and that is why he opened fire….

Hodges should resign, but even that isn’t enough. Minneapolis, and other cities, need to discard their policies of hiring people such as Mohamed Noor not because they’re competent, but because they’re of a desired ethnicity or religion. Mohamed Noor was only on the police force because he was a Somali Muslim, and thus buttressed Minneapolis’ “diversity.” Placing “diversity” and fears of “Islamophobia” charges over proper standards for the police force is what killed Justine Damond. The entire set of assumptions that led to Mohamed Noor’s being on the police force and in a position to kill Justine Damond needs to be reevaluated. Police everywhere should be hired based on their ability to do the job, not their value as a symbol to pander to a supposedly victimized community.

But yes, Hodges should resign forthwith.

Meanwhile, in her statement saying she asked Police Chief Janee Harteau to resign, Minneapolis Mayor Betsy Hodges said: “For us to continue to transform policing — and community trust in policing — we need new leadership at MPD.”

We need more than that. We need an apology from Betsy Hodges (and her resignation as well) for allowing the Minneapolis police force to hire based on ethnicity and religion rather than competence. Mohamed Noor was only a police officer to keep the Minneapolis police department from being tarred with “Islamophobia” charges. “This officer completed that training very well, he was very suited to be on the street,” said Minneapolis police chief Janee Harteau.

But this doesn’t seem to be true. His neighbor, Chris Miller, says: “He is extremely nervous … he is a little jumpy … he doesn’t really respect women, the least thing you say to him can set him off. When they say a policeman shot an Australian lady I thought uh, oh but then when they said who it was I was like, ‘okay’.”

Noor’s colleagues the Minneapolis police department likely also knew that Noor was “extremely nervous” and “a little jumpy,” “doesn’t really respect women” and “the least thing you say to him can set him off.” But he remained on the force, because to take any action to protect the people of Minneapolis from him would have been “Islamophobic.”
