A traffic warden is quitting after a motorist spat in her face for giving him a ticket.

Solicitor Peter Eatherall, defending, said Ahmed claimed he hadn’t intended to deliberately spit on the warden.

“He has a belief in a native American ritual to ward off future irritations that involves spitting at or towards a solid object.  “Unfortunately at the time he spat the woman stepped in front of him,” Mr Eatherall told the court.

ABUJA, Nigeria — A Nigerian federal court will hear a case over whether the West African nation’s religious freedom and privacy laws allow a Muslim senator to marry a 13-year-old girl, the latest rift in a country split between Christians and Muslims.

The lawsuit filed by the Supreme Council for Sharia in Nigeria on behalf of Senator Ahmad Sani Yerima challenges the country’s child protection laws that ban women from marrying before age 18. The suit, obtained Friday by The Associated Press, claims that Yerima’s constitutional rights are being trampled over the controversy surrounding his alleged marriage to a 13-year-old Egyptian girl.

It’s a common ploy the world over in courtroom jihad: pleading in the name of constitutional rights to advance an agenda that would trample those rights if given the chance.

Florida pastor to protest CAIR, huge mosque

A Pompano Beach, Fla., Christian leader who has alleged a huge Islamic mosque being built in the neighborhood of his 600-member church will be used to recruit people who hate America has scheduled a public protest of the project.

Rev. O’Neal Dozier, a former NFL player who now is minister at the Worldwide Christian Center, has announced plans for a protest rally in front of the partly constructed mosque at 10 a.m. on Feb. 6.

“It will be directly in front of the mosque that is being built. We’re expecting hundreds of people to be there,” he told WND.

“We hope to raise the people’s consciousness even more towards what we’re fighting here,” he said.

Dozier said the mosque membership presently meets in another building CAIR leaders say is too small.
