Evidently a convert to Islam, and an apparent jihad attack has taken place at Ft. Hood.

Twelve dead, thirty wounded in what was apparently an attack coordinated between two or three gunmen — belying the post-traumatic stress syndrome spin playing out in the mainstream media.
If this turns out to be a jihad attack, watch for the President to caution against “backlash” and “Islamophobia.”

Update: New details from CNN: One gunman “neutralized,” one “cornered,” no word on the third. The shooting happened at the “sports dome,” a.k.a. the soldier readiness station.
Update: Whether there are two shooters or three seems to be in dispute at the moment, but there’s certainly more than one: The second shooting on the base evidently occurred at a theater.
One of the shooters is alive and in custody. We should have a motive soon.

The gunman at the heart of the Fort Hood tragedy has been identified. He is Major Malik Nadal Hasan, aged 39 or 40, according to the report.
Details about Major Malik Nadal Hasan are sketchy. Information coming in from various media sources are simply conjecture. However, military analysts seem to believe that Hasan would, due to his rank, have had to have been deployed either to Iraq or Afghanistan in the recent past.
Major Malik Nadal Hasan opened fire on other soldiers at the Fort Hood Soldier Readiness Facility, where soldiers who are preparing to deploy go for last minute checkups and preparation. The facility is 117,000 sq. ft. in size, which so Hasan had a great deal of space to operate in, perhaps explaining the large number of those killed or wounded before he was himself killed. Lots of predictable mainstream media dissembling going on about Malik Nadal Hasan, the one murderer who has been identified in the attacks at Fort Hood today that left 12 dead and 31 wounded. One AP story says that his religion is not known. The CBS story below is a bit better, actually identifying him as a Muslim. But no one, no one at all, in the mainstream media is discussing jihad as a motivation. It’s all about “snapping,” “not wanting to go to war” (then why join the Army), etc.

Saudi Arabia has launched a large military incursion across the border into northern Yemen, using fighter jets and artillery bombardments to try to end a Shiite rebellion inside its troubled southern neighbor, Arab diplomats and the rebels said Thursday.
The BBC adds that the Houthis claim that Saudi Arabia dropped phosphorus bombs on them.
