“U.S. forces conducted self-defense strikes in southern Iran today to protect our troops from threats posed by Iranian forces”

Update:

  • Iranian media have reported that US forces struck near the Bandar Abbas port, causing no damage or casualties.

Iran Claims U.S. Talks Don’t Include Enriched Uranium Stockpile

Iranian state TV has published what it claims is a new draft proposal for peace with the U.S. — and it reportedly still clashes with several major American red lines. The proposal allegedly includes demands tied to Iran’s nuclear program and future enforcement measures, while also calling for $20 billion in frozen funds to be released as part of the deal.

Iran Claims It Downed U.S. Drone, Threatens ‘Devastating’ Response Next Time U.S. Violates Ceasefire

Iran’s terrorist Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) threatened a “very devastating” response to any future military activity by the United States on Tuesday following confirmation from the Pentagon that it had conducted “self-defense” airstrikes on Iranian targets.

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), the arm of the Pentagon responsible for Middle East activities, confirmed on Monday evening that it had conducted operations against Iranian targets accused of maintaining missile launch sites and maritime assets allegedly used to “emplace mines” in the Strait of Hormuz. Since Washington launched Operation Epic Fury to erode the Iranian regime’s ability to pose a threat to its neighbors in February, the IRGC has blocked regular commercial traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, one of the most important economic transit points in the world and a major source of oil and liquified natural gas (LNG) heading from Gulf states to Asia.

Iran: Trump might be compelled to “finish the job”

Israel Intensifies Attacks on Lebanon

Iran says return to war unlikely, but Trump ‘not satisfied’ with deal

Iran said on Wednesday that a return to war with the United States was unlikely as the two sides inched towards a deal, though President Donald Trump said he was not happy with Tehran’s latest offer.

U.S. Military Launches Precision “Self-Defense Strikes” in Southern Iran – Neutralizing IRGC Threats to American Troops After Radical Regime’s Latest Provocations

The US leader warned he might be compelled to “finish the job” if a better arrangement was not reached, even as optimism for a peace deal that would reopen the crucial Strait of Hormuz trade route sent oil prices tumbling.

With fighting paused since an April 8 ceasefire, negotiations to bring an end to the conflict and resume trade through the blockaded waterway have stalled, leaving the global economy shaken by the tumult.

But senior Iranian Revolutionary Guards official Mohammad Akbarzadeh said the likelihood of a return to “war is low because of the enemy’s weakness”, but warned the military was “lying in wait with full magazines” in the event of an attack, Tasnim news agency reported.

Trump, meanwhile, said in a cabinet meeting at the White House that he was in no rush to reach an accord, despite saying at the weekend that one was close.

“Iran is very much intent, they want very much to make a deal. So far they haven’t gotten there. We’re not satisfied with it, but we will be,” he said.

“Either that or we’ll have to just finish the job.”

Soon Everyone Will Be Talking About The Cost Of Food

There is not going to be an agreement to end the war.

Everyone Talks About The Cost Of Gasoline… Soon Everyone Will Be Talking About The Cost Of Food

“The big story right now is oil… The next story is food.”

For most people, the price of gasoline is the most obvious consequence of the war in the Middle East. As I write this article, the average price of a gallon of gasoline in the United States is $4.56. Of course, in some parts of the country, consumers are paying much more than that. This is a big story, and the truth is that gasoline prices are going to go even higher in the months ahead.

But if you think that the price of gasoline is bad, just wait until you see what eventually happens to food prices. The price of diesel has been rising even faster than the price of regular gasoline, and fertilizer prices have been absolutely skyrocketing. Those costs will get passed along to the rest of us. It is just a matter of time. Meanwhile, our farmers are dealing with drought conditions that are unprecedented, and now a “Super El Niño” is coming.

What all of this means is that food prices will rise to very painful levels.

So even though everyone is complaining about rising gasoline prices at the moment, one prominent economist is warning that “the next story is food”

Iran Sends Negotiators to Qatar, Complaining That U.S. Demands Are ‘Excessive’

Back & forth, down & around…. the Iranians are playing for time. It’s not so much that they are playing the Americans for fools, but the Americans lost momentum. Not going in and eliminating the regimes revolutionary guards enabled them to regroup, which defeats the purpose of the exercise.

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi are in Doha, Qatar, as of Monday for negotiations with neighboring states in the service of finalizing a peace agreement with the United States.

The visit follows a series of public statements from President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio affirming that Tehran and Washington have made progress in their negotiations towards peace. Both have cautioned that the two sides still disagree sharply on core issues remaining unresolved and that talks will take time to yield results, but the tone of their remarks indicated an optimism absent from previous attempts at ending the conflict.

  • President Donald Trump says he has instructed the negotiators “not to rush into a deal” with Iran since “time is on our side”, adding that the US blockade in the Strait of Hormuz “will remain in full force and effect until an agreement is reached, certified, and signed”.
  • The threat of renewed war with Iran “still looms large”, according to Al Jazeera’s team in Washington, DC, as “the US president still leaves open the opportunity to launch military strikes”.
  • The development comes after Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the next round of talks between the US and Iran would happen “very soon”.

“We should NOT be negotiating with Iran…When we did, this Summer, attempt to negotiate with Iran, we told the people of Iran that we are not on their side, that we want to make deals with people who oppress them, who torture them, who enslave them, who abuse them, and who kill them….Iran played us along. They said ‘We’ll negotiate with you as long as we can continue to produce nuclear material and continue our nuclear program.’ And so we negotiated and we negotiated, and they developed and they developed.”

Iran Sends U.S. Revamped ‘Peace Proposal’

Iran recently sent an updated peace proposal to America via Pakistani mediators, the Foreign Ministry confirmed on Monday, which reportedly includes demands for “reparations” and no meaningful concessions on the country’s illicit nuclear activity.

The Iranian Tasnim News Agency, which is believed to be close to the Islamist regime, first reported the existence of an undated proposal to end the current conflict delivered to the United States. According to Tasnim’s “source close to the Iranian negotiating team,” Tehran’s proposed deal would require America to pay unspecified “reparations” for the destruction caused by its bombing during “Operation Epic Fury.” The new proposal also reportedly demands the lifting of all sanctions on the Iranian regime, placed in response to both the illicit nuclear program and Iran’s long history of human rights atrocities and sponsorship of terrorism. Iran is also reportedly demanding that America unfreeze Iranian assets seized in response to its terrorist activities.

What happened in San Diego?

“Islamophobia endangers Muslim communities across this country,” Zohran Mamdani, New York City’s first Muslim mayor,

Authorities Identify Teen Shooters in Attack on Islamic Center in San Diego

The identities of the two teen shooters responsible for the three fatal shootings at the Islamic Center in San Diego were released by NBC News.

The shooters were identified as Cain Clark, 17, and Caleb Vazquez, 18.

The teen shooters both died of self-inflicted gunshot wounds.

Five people are dead, including the shooters, and multiple injured in a shooting at the Islamic Center at 7050 Eckstrom Avenue.

Previously, law enforcement officials said the suspects died of self-inflicted gunshot wounds. At a briefing this afternoon, police said the suspects were 17 and 19.

No motive has been provided. Investigators are examining possible anti-Islamic writings found in the car where police found the dead suspects, two senior law enforcement officials said.

Officials said they are treating the shooting as a hate crime investigation unless evidence suggests otherwise.

Among the deceased victims was a security guard who worked at the centre and “played a pivotal role” in preventing the attack from being “much worse”, officials said.

“It’s fair to say his actions were heroic,” Wahl said. “Undoubtedly, he saved lives today.”

Authorities have not yet publicly identified the three victims. But community leaders have identified the guard as Amin Abdullah. Local media reports suggested he was a father of eight.
