Because it didn’t just happen; there was a war on terror, and we won,” he said. “And yet so much has changed since 9/11; for example, back then we were against the terrorists.”

The pattern shows that the media establishment many years ago concluded moral clarity amounted to a kind of bigotry and that to name an ideology responsible for mass murder was the same as harboring hatred towards all those who happen to share that ideology. “The Lady in Blue” will sit atop the Fourth Plinth for two years

A sculpture inspired by a desire to bring a contemporary “everywoman” to Trafalgar Square has been unveiled on London’s Fourth Plinth.

Lady In Blue by New York artist Tschabalala Self, which pays homage to a young, metropolitan woman, is the 16th artwork to feature on the plinth since 1998.

The bronze and blue figure replaces Mil Veces un Instante (A Thousand Times in an Instant) by Teresa Margolles.

The statue has been patinated with a pigment refined from Lapis Lazuli, a semi-precious stone that has been used by artists for millennia.

Self said she had set out to put an ordinary contemporary Londoner on a site more usually associated with statues of monarchs and military commanders.

“My work Lady In Blue will bring to Trafalgar Square a woman that many can relate to,” the artist said.

 

“She is not an idol to venerate or a historic figurehead to commemorate.

“She is a woman walking forward into our collective future with ambition and purpose. She is a Londoner, who represents the city’s spirit.”

USS Abraham Lincoln Returning Home After Being “Sunk” Three Times By Iran

Online claims of the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier’s demise were greatly exaggerated…

In yet another example of Iranian social media claims not matching up with reality, the nuclear powered Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln is returning home after a 286 day deployment and 5 days of rest at port in Thailand.  The ship was untouched by any signs of combat, despite the IRGC claiming on at least three separate occasions that they had sunk the mighty vessel with drones and missile strikes.

Iranian aligned accounts even spread AI videos and video game clips of a ship sinking, arguing that the clips showed the Abraham Lincoln.  Left wing commentators celebrated the news, only to scrub their posts after it was revealed that the information was fake.

The ship was cleaned at port with no signs of damage from attack.  It has now left Thailand on a return trip to the US and the Naval Air Station North Island in Coronado (San Diego).
