Iran Claims to Be in ‘Final Stages’ of Deal with Oman to Control Strait of Hormuz

US Central Command has said US forces have now redirected a total of 48 commercial vessels to enforce a US naval blockade of Iran.

  • Yemeni forces reported that Houthi attacks using suicide drones and ballistic missiles killed at least 18 soldiers.
  • Houthi spokesperson Yahya Saree previously announced that the group had carried out attacks using “a large number of ballistic missiles and drones” on Yemen’s Emergency Forces posts in Marib and Hadramout. He said the strikes had killed personnel and destroyed weaponry and vehicles.

The objective should not be destruction for its own sake or an agreement that trades substantial economic relief for temporary or unverifiable promises.

The objective should be to change Iran’s strategic calculation.

Iran must come to believe that each additional month of resistance will carry increasing cost, resulting in less revenue, fewer military options, greater isolation, diminished military capability, and a weaker negotiating position. At the same time, the United States should make clear that a verifiable agreement remains available if Iran abandons the behavior that created the crisis.

He did make it all up.  Cambridge professor Jason Arday told a university audience he appeared on the TV series “Seven Up.” One small problem: that show premiered in 1964. He wasn’t born until 1985.

Anthony Fauci’s congressional testimony this week was such an insult to the entire country. It was just stunning to see him repeatedly invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer every single question posed to him.

During an appearance on the Sean Hannity show, Senator Josh Hawley of Missouri, who had an amazing exchange with Fauci during the hearing, suggested that Fauci actually had no right to invoke the Fifth Amendment because he received immunity from the Biden administration.

This offers some hope to anyone who still wants to see Fauci held accountable for his actions during Covid.

President Donald Trump has reportedly ordered a new round of strikes against Iran that could begin as soon as this weekend, as Tehran threatens sweeping retaliation, Israel moves to heightened alert, and U.S. embassies across the Middle East urge Americans to consider leaving the region amid fears of imminent escalation.

The new offensive could begin within days and last several days, according to a Wall Street Journal report Friday, while separate reports said Washington is considering some of its harshest strikes yet against Iranian energy and infrastructure targets. Although Trump reportedly authorized an attack plan presented to him Friday at Camp David, CBS News and Axios reported that a final execution order had not yet been issued, leaving open the possibility that a diplomatic breakthrough could still avert the operation.

Trump publicly signaled Friday that his patience with Tehran is rapidly running out.

“We’ll be hitting them very hard,” Trump told reporters during a Cabinet meeting at Camp David. “And you know at some point, they’re going to say, ‘We just can’t take it anymore.’”

The U.S. military launched a round of strikes against Iran Wednesday evening after President Donald Trump vowed to hit the Islamic Republic “very hard” in response to Iran’s attempted ballistic missile attack on U.S. forces in Jordan the previous day.

Iran’s military has absorbed devastating damage, its weapons infrastructure has been repeatedly targeted, its ability to supply terrorist proxies has been severely disrupted, and yet prominent Democrats and much of the media continue searching for some way to portray President Trump as the real loser.

CENTCOM recently reported striking more than 80 Iranian military targets in a single operation, including missile and maritime facilities used to threaten commercial shipping.

The 2026 CENTCOM posture statement also concluded that Iran can no longer reliably arm or resupply Hezbollah, Hamas, the Houthis, and Iranian-backed militias with advanced weapons.

That is not a minor setback.

Iran built its regional power around those proxy armies. Hezbollah terrorized Israel from Lebanon, Hamas attacked from Gaza, the Houthis threatened international shipping, and militias in Iraq and Syria targeted American troops.

Now that network has been badly weakened, while Iran’s missile, maritime, nuclear, and command capabilities have faced sustained pressure.

The regime may still be dangerous, and American lives remain at risk, but pretending Iran is somehow winning requires ignoring what has actually happened.

Sadly, that appears to be where partisan politics has taken us.

Instead of acknowledging that an enemy of the United States has been weakened, Trump’s opponents emphasize every cost, setback, and Iranian retaliation while minimizing the destruction inflicted on Tehran.

Americans can debate whether the conflict should continue. They can demand a defined mission and an achievable exit strategy.

What should never happen is allowing hatred of one president to turn into reflexive political encouragement for a regime that murders dissidents, funds terrorism, attacks American personnel, and openly threatens our allies.

When political point-scoring becomes more important than the defeat of an enemy, something has gone terribly wrong.

Actor James Woods called Democratic Socialist Zohran Mamdani being elected Mayor of New York City “the most dangerous event” in modern American history, and warned that the United States is at risk of a “Muslim invasion.”

“I think the election of Mamdani was the most dangerous event to happen in the country” in modern history, Woods told conservative commentator Benny Johnson during a Monday appearance on his The Benny Show podcast.

“Look, I think America is the greatest human endeavor in the history of human kind — I think it’s in terrible trouble,” the Casino actor continued.
