Anthony Halpin asks for ‘forgiveness’ over ‘hurt caused’ by ‘unfortunate’ reference made in court

Judge Anthony Halpin made the remark that “Muslims think they can actually beat their wives,” in Tallaght District Court on Thursday. Civil liberties and migrant groups had yesterday urged him to withdraw the comments .

In a statement issued today Judge Halpin said he “had no intention of referring to, or offending Muslims or their religion” and apologised for the hurt caused and asked for their “forgiveness”.

UN wants to decide what Kenya should do to protect Kenya

Somali Muslims have taken over whole areas of Kenya, including parts of Mombasa. And they have been attacking Kenyans and, especially, Christian targets. After the latest attack on a church, the Kenyan government decided, for security reasons, to confine the Somalis (“refugees” to some, but what they are fleeing is the misrule and chaos of a Muslim state, and bringing that misrule and chaos with them, and their own Muslim aggressiveness, and desire to impose their ways, into Kenya) to two camps.

This, of course, the U.N. Refugee Agency does not like. It wants to decide what Kenya should do to protect Kenya.

UK hate preacher Anjem Choudary has claimed via his Twitter page, that the tragic Washington, Oso mudslide that occurred on March 22nd was the work of Allah (God).

Choudary – who is known for his incendiary and extremist rhetoric, as well as links to convicted terrorists – tweeted on Tuesday: “The village of Oso Washington USA was washed away by Allah & disappeared without trace on Saturday! A lesson for everyone of Allah’s power!”

Is there not one journo in the deplorable enemedia who is willing to tell the truth and deviate from the script?  Buddhist monk Wirathu of Burma is the “bin Laden of Buddhism”. That’s the deal to get published. All copy the same trash from each other. All regurgitate the same claptrap. “Oppressed Muslims, Buddhist Aggressors”.  Accident? Hell no. They are told what to write. By whom? Who is behind this and who is giving them their marching orders?

The photo of two monks looks innocent enough. One of the men presents the other with a birthday present. It’s difficult to make out, but it looks to be some sort of gold figurine on a red velvet base. In fact, the photo would be totally uninteresting if it weren’t for the fact that these men are two of the world’s most important leaders of a dangerously radical brand of Buddhism.

The man on the right is Myanmar’s Ashin Wirathu. Known as the ‘‘bin Laden of Buddhism”, Wirathu leads the country’s 969 movement, which sees the country’s Muslim minority as an existential threat to its majority Buddhist population. The man on the left is Sri Lanka’s Galagoda Atte Gnanasara, the face of hardline Buddhism in the island nation.

Together, these two robed radicals anchor a powerful, violent and new political force in Asia.

Bowing to new pressure from the powerful Arab Group in the race to replace controversial official Richard Falk, the president of the U.N. Human Rights Council has decided to ignore the vetting committee’s official choice, and instead appoint Christine Chinkin — co-author of the Goldstone Report, and a law professor at the London School of Economics – as the UN’s next special rapporteur on “Israel’s violations of the bases and principles of international law.”
In a second highly controversial move, the president also announced that he would name Falk’s wife, former Turkish government adviser Hilal Elver, to another top U.N. human rights post.
The only power that can yet stop these outrageously partisan and problematic appointments before tomorrow’s plenary decision is the Obama Administration.

If the Israeli presence in the West Bank, and the “settlements” from 1967 on, are the root cause of the conflict between the Israelis and the Palestinians, then why does Article 14 of the 1964 PLO Charter call for the destruction of all of Israel?
Because Judea and Samaria had no recognized sovereign, apart from the Ottoman Empire, prior to the illegal Jordanian occupation, the current Israeli presence in Judea and Samaria cannot possibly be designated as illegal.
It seems therefore that nothing Israel offers that is less than 100% of its entire land — in other words if Israel agrees not to exist — will affect the Palestinian Authority’s willingness to make peace. (EoZ)

A cable news station in Paris has aired shocking video of French-speaking jihadists at work in Syria. The footage broadcast Thursday night on BFMTV played like a macabre postcard home, only the latest reminder that hundreds of French and thousands of European jihadists are waging war against Bashar al-Assad. The news channel has called it evidence that France’s own are “direct actors in the atrocities committed in Syria.”The video excerpts are said to have been filmed over several days in February by French-speaking members of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant, also known as ISIS, a radical group of al-Qaeda dissidents. The brigade in the footage is said to comprise about 20 French nationals and 20 Belgians.

It’s been going on for  a long time. It’s fun. It isn’t done just  by a “handful of Sunni extremists.” Many people take part, many others are indifferent. In Afghanistan, in Syria, in Yemen, in Bahrain, in Kuwait, in Lebanon, Shi’a have been treated with contumely, or attacked, or killed, by Sunnis. But those who rule in Iran don’t want to see this, can’t allow themselves to believe that it will continue to go on, don’t want to think that their attempt to become leaders of the Muslim world is a will-o’-the-wisp, can’t face the fact that their entire nuclear project, designed to obliterate or at least mortally wound the Infidel nation-state of Israel, will win them nothing from Sunnis, but will only ensure a devastating retaliatory attack from Israel. And the Sunnis will take delight in both spectacles.

The London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the so-called Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) had carried out two powerful explosions at the mosque earlier in the day.

The al-Qaeda splinter ISIL and other Takfiri militant groups have targeted many historical and religious sites in Syria over the past three years.

Among them are the holy shrine of Hazrat Zaynab (AS) — the daughter of the first Shia Imam, Imam Ali (PBUH), and Hazrat Fatemeh (PBUH), Prophet Mohammad (PBUH)’s daughter — as well as churches in the Christian village of Maaloula, near the capital city of Damascus. (Here.)

It is comforting for the Shi’a — in Iran, in Hezbollah — to believe that “takfiri” Muslims, that is Sunnis who consider Shi’a to be Infidels, and among the worst of Infidels, are not representative, but are “only a small minority of Sunni extremists” to borrow the well-known lphrase. But they aren’t. In Pakistan, Sipah-e-Sahaba is only one of several Sunni groups dedicated to attacking, and killing, Shi’a professionals, and Sunnis have been informally attacking Shi’a, for sport, for many decades (Ibn Warraq remembers boys doing it in his childhood). In Saudi Arabia, the Shi’a are kept down, and occasionally a Shi’a street demonstration is suppressed using well-known methods — the kind used as well, by the minority ruling Sunnis in Bahrain, to keep the Shi’a in their place. In Lebanon, the old Sunni elite has discovered, to its horror, that the lower-class Shi’a have simply outbred them (as the Muslims in general have outbred the Christians in Lebanon), and are now the largest group in Lebanon, and Sunnis who formerly merely paid little attention to the Shi’a now have found their contempt replaced by hatred and fear. In Yemen, the Shi’a Houthis, supported by Iranian aid, are marching south; Sunni tribesmen are determined to stop them. The votaries of ISIL may have gone further in their latest attacks, on a Sunnni shrine to two of Muhammad’s Companions, but the Sunni contempt for Shi’a shrines, saints, rites including the famous flagellation, is widely shared, and not confined to a handful of “Takfiris.”

It will be interesting to see when Shi’a begin to see it is not “takfiris” but Sunnis in general who are hostile to them, and that there is nothing they can do about it, except to change their beliefs and their practices. And that they cannot do. (Article here)
