Denmark is a tiny country half the size of Maine. Why should we care about what happens there?
Because it foreshadows our future. And without a major course correction, the picture is bleak.
First and foremost, Denmark (like most European countries) has allowed Muslim immigration to swell as the nation has embraced multiculturalism and dhimmitude.The country is paying a heavy price for its shortsightedness.Muslims comprise just under 5% of the population of Denmark. Five percent may not sound like a lot, but it doesn’t take a lot to wreak havoc on a nation.

Per a series of Gatestone Institute reports (see here, here, here, here, here, here, here, and here), crime in Denmark has exploded. Muslim street gangs “have taken over large parts of Danish towns and cities.” Often wearing bulletproof vests and armed to the teeth, Muslim thugs are engaged in all manner of criminal activity, from illegal weapons trafficking to arson to human trafficking to car theft, vandalism, extortion, robbery, assault, rape, and murder. This in a nation that had one of the lowest crime rates in Europe.

Coupled with rampant crime has been weak (at best) enforcement of the law. Muslim criminals are often portrayed as victims of circumstance. Few cases go to trial. It is rare for a Muslim gang member go to prison. In addition, the ineffective dhimmi police force is running out of man power to handle escalating crime.

Madness reigns supreme in numerous “no go” zones where non-Muslims enter at their own risk. Including the police. Meanwhile, Muslims are pushing for “Sharia Law Zones” where Muslims would operate autonomously with no obligation to obey Danish law. And if you thought Muslims in Muslim-majority nations were the strictest in obeying Sharia law, think again. Denmark ranks among the top ten nations in the world for the degree to which Muslims adhere to Islamic law.

Maybe there are Muslims who disagree with him. But if so, they don’t have much influence. People like Al-Wahwah take Islam seriously. Those who don’t have been marginalized.

True, these people are savages and probably due to inbreeding appear not to be very bright. But they have numbers, and they believe in their cause. In the long run, that gives them the advantage over a West that apologizes for its own existence. That our “leaders” won’t even acknowledge Islam as a threat gives them an overwhelming advantage.

In the UK, the hate speech laws are used to muzzle the truth tellers, to intimidate and arrest them and to keep people like Robert Spencer and Pamela Geller out. Never trust a politician who cannot get himself to say “Islam” or “Muslim”.

Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott said on Wednesday that he was ordering a crackdown to prevent Muslim preachers entering the country, amidst rising tension with the Muslim community following a series of security-related raids.

Abbott, who recently warned that the balance between freedom and security “may have to shift” to protect against Muslim communities. Muslim preachers would now be “red-carded”, Abbot said, during the visa process.

The tougher new system, which he said would not require new legislation, comes on the heels of a public meeting in Sydney last week by Hizb ut-Tahrir, an international group.

The launch of a new Center for Global Islamic Studies at the extremely leftist University of Florida in Gainesville may have been planned as a purely academic affair, but the announcements in the local and national media, including AP and Fox News, exhibited more than a purely academic interest in this event. To compare, one doesn’t often see national media announcements about, let’s say, a local center for the study of viruses — unless the virus is Ebola. And just like with any news about Ebola studies, any news about studies of Islam attracts attention from the general public, who want to know if there’s a hope for the cure, containment, and safety from danger.

Unfortunately, these may not be the kind of Islamic Studies that answer those hopes. The Center opened on September 18th with a conference on “Global Islam and the Quest for Public Space,” headlined by none other than Georgetown professor John Esposito, a known apologist for radical Islam and founding director of the Saudi-sponsored Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding in the Walsh School of Foreign Service.

A small group of protesters picketed the event outside the Pugh Hall on the university campus, with a dozen creative posters and a vinyl banner pointing out that John Esposito and the leader of ISIS both hold PhDs in Islamic Studies: “Same goal, different tactics.” The video of the protest can be seen online.
