Trump says US to help free up ships in Strait of Hormuz starting Monday morning

The US president has posted on Truth Social to announce that ships blocked in the Strait of Hormuz will be freed up on Monday morning.

Trump reportedly told Israeli media outlet Kan News that he has studied the new proposal from Iran and found it “unacceptable.”

  • Iran’s government spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei says the United States has responded to its 14-point plan to find a permanent end to the war, and that it is reviewing that response.
  • US President Donald Trump, in comments to Israeli media, said that the proposal is “unacceptable”.
  • The plan calls for non-aggression guarantees, lifting of the US naval blockade and an end to the war “on all fronts“, including in Lebanon.
  • Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it set a 30-day deadline for the US military to end its blockade of ports, adding that Trump “must choose between an impossible military operation or a bad deal”.

These are not serious demands. Iran is in no position to make demands.

Trump must finish the job. A regime like the Iranian cannot be allowed to exist anywhere on the planet.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards on Sunday said the United States faced a choice between an “impossible” military operation or a deal with Tehran, after President Donald Trump disparaged Iran’s latest peace proposal.

“Macron just said that Europe should separate from the US and not interfere in their war. When Macron tried to play the role of a superpower and fight terrorism in Africa, he couldn’t even airlift his troops; we had to do it for him…” US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on the recent statements of French President Macron.

  • “I don’t know that we need it [to restart war] … We might need it.”
  • Trump says “probably” on whether he will withdraw US troops from Italy and Spain.

Iranian officials are seeking relief while “trying to figure out their leadership situation.”

Trump scolds Germany’s Merz for criticism of Iran war

“The Chancellor of Germany should spend more time on ending the war with Russia/Ukraine (Where he has been totally ineffective!), and fixing his broken Country, especially Immigration and Energy, and less time on interfering with those that are getting rid of the Iran Nuclear threat,” Trump wrote in a social media post.

He added that the war on Iran, which has sent energy prices soaring across the globe, is “making the World, including Germany, a safer place”.

The episode underscores the fraying effects of the Iran war on the US-Europe alliance, which Trump launched jointly with Israel without consulting Washington’s NATO partners.

On Wednesday, Trump said his administration is considering scaling back the number of US troops in Germany, where Washington’s military presence is seen as the centre of its security umbrella over Europe.

Berlin has said it is ready for the possibility of fewer US soldiers on its soil while emphasising NATO cooperation.

Germany: Iran’s crown prince splattered with red liquid, receives no invitation to speak with government reps

As a whole, Europe has failed to show any substantial support for a democratic Iran. This lack of support can be translated as either support for the brutal Islamic regime or pure cowardice. On his visit to Berlin, Iran’s exiled Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi received no invitation to meet with any official government representative or lawmaker. He called it a disgrace:

During Thursday’s press conference, Pahlavi called this “a disgrace.” He said democratic governments should “speak with the people who are the voice of the voiceless,” and accused Berlin of allowing itself to be blackmailed by the regime in Tehran.

For the crown prince to be received with a protest and no official invitation, and splattered with red liquid, is atrocious. It speaks volumes about Germany and to the longstanding cowardice of Western leaders when it comes to not only the Islamic Republic of Iran, but also Islam as a whole.

One needs to also bear in mind the widespread support Iran was getting from Western leaders for a bogus nuclear deal that saw billions poured into the regime’s coffers, which in turn served to aid its development of a nuclear bomb.

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has described the US-Israel war on Iran as “completely unnecessary”.

Merz said the war was contributing to rising instability, affecting Europe, Asia and the US. He stressed that only a united Europe could respond effectively to the emerging challenges.

“We have spent two days meeting with the 27 heads of state and government of the European Union to discuss how to tackle major challenges that lie ahead, including the Iran conflict and this completely unnecessary war there, as well as many other challenges we face,” said the chancellor.

He added that Europe must adjust to shifting global conditions. “We must accept this new economic reality, however difficult it may be.”

Despite sanctions, Germany supports Iran trade with nearly 1 billion in credit

The German Press Agency revealed the credit guarantee figure on Saturday, noting that the nearly 1 billion euros have been provided to German firms to protect their business with Iran.
