The International Maritime Organization (IMO) says up to 20,000 seafarers have been stranded on some 2,000 vessels in the Strait of Hormuz since the US-Israel war on Iran began.

Trump says US to help free up ships in Strait of Hormuz starting Monday morning

The US president has posted on Truth Social to announce that ships blocked in the Strait of Hormuz will be freed up on Monday morning.

Trump reportedly told Israeli media outlet Kan News that he has studied the new proposal from Iran and found it “unacceptable.”

  • Iran’s government spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei says the United States has responded to its 14-point plan to find a permanent end to the war, and that it is reviewing that response.
  • US President Donald Trump, in comments to Israeli media, said that the proposal is “unacceptable”.
  • The plan calls for non-aggression guarantees, lifting of the US naval blockade and an end to the war “on all fronts“, including in Lebanon.
  • Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it set a 30-day deadline for the US military to end its blockade of ports, adding that Trump “must choose between an impossible military operation or a bad deal”.

These are not serious demands. Iran is in no position to make demands.

Trump must finish the job. A regime like the Iranian cannot be allowed to exist anywhere on the planet.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards on Sunday said the United States faced a choice between an “impossible” military operation or a deal with Tehran, after President Donald Trump disparaged Iran’s latest peace proposal.

60% Of Voters Believe France Is Witnessing ‘A Replacement Of The Population By Non-Europeans’

According to the data from IFOP, 7 percent are undecided.

According to the French Directorate General for Foreigners (DGEF), valid French residence permits in 2025 hit an unprecedented level of 4.5 million, an increase of approximately 3 percent, driven primarily by multi-year permits and long-term resident cards, writes Le Journal du Dimanche.

For 2025, one in three permits was issued for family reasons (1.5 million), while one in five was an automatic renewal. New permits also increased to 384,000, a jump of 11 percent, which was partly driven by a 65 percent increase in admissions for humanitarian reasons.

Foreigners with legal status now represent 8.1 percent of France’s adult population, with a high concentration of nationalities from the Maghreb. At the same time, regularizations have declined (-10%, to 28,610), while deportations have increased sharply (+15.7%, to 24,985), reaching their highest level in a decade, notes JDD.

Maréchal more recently posted a telling video of the number of illegals coming to the EU, blasting French leaders for their continuous stance of “above all, let’s do nothing!”

Specifically, 60 percent of French people told ifop they believe we are witnessing “a replacement of the French population by non-European populations, mainly from the African continent.”

The poll also found that 66 percent see it as a bad development, compared to 9 percent who see it as a good thing.

Two weeks ago, Marion Maréchal, leader of Identité Libertés, posted to X: “60% of French people think that we are witnessing ‘a replacement of the French population by non-European populations mainly from Africa’ according to @IfopOpinion. To our greatest misfortune, our rulers are among the 40%.”

At the heart of the strong resistance that thousands of Japanese participating in these demonstrations have shown are multiple practical and socio-cultural implications, including traffic congestion during prayer times and potential noise disturbances. These are all valid concerns, as Muslims across the globe are often seen occupying roads, blocking traffic, and disrupting the daily lives of commuters while demanding their right to offer their prayers.

Trump scolds Germany’s Merz for criticism of Iran war

“The Chancellor of Germany should spend more time on ending the war with Russia/Ukraine (Where he has been totally ineffective!), and fixing his broken Country, especially Immigration and Energy, and less time on interfering with those that are getting rid of the Iran Nuclear threat,” Trump wrote in a social media post.

He added that the war on Iran, which has sent energy prices soaring across the globe, is “making the World, including Germany, a safer place”.

The episode underscores the fraying effects of the Iran war on the US-Europe alliance, which Trump launched jointly with Israel without consulting Washington’s NATO partners.

On Wednesday, Trump said his administration is considering scaling back the number of US troops in Germany, where Washington’s military presence is seen as the centre of its security umbrella over Europe.

Berlin has said it is ready for the possibility of fewer US soldiers on its soil while emphasising NATO cooperation.

Iran has no leverage in this game of chicken. While they threaten to harass commercial shipping through the Persian Gulf, the US has blocked all Iranian shipping.

Not only does that prevent Iran from selling its oil, it means that the Iranians have to store millions of barrels of oil that are being pumped every day.

But their storage capacity is quickly running out.

Pumping oil isn’t a matter of turning a spigot on and off. Shutting down productive wells means risking their usability forever, because the oil flow will effectively destroy the wellhead.

Iran’s latest “peace” offer — which President Donald Trump would be nuts to consider — continues the Islamic Republic’s history of playing from a posture of strength when the regime is actually in a state of near-collapse.

Now the mullahs say they will agree to open the Strait of Hormuz in exchange for an end to the hostilities.

Yet the nuclear question will remain off the table for now … future talks TBD.

What chutzpah! The whole war was started to prevent Iran from achieving nuclear weapons, so why would the United States — which paused its hell-storm to give the Iranians a chance to get their minds right — give up a key demand, as though we were the ones on our heels?

Iran’s foreign-policy strategy seems to be “fake it ’til you make it.” Its leaders — whoever they are at the moment — think that if they pretend to be a major world power, and demand to be treated as such, eventually Washington will partake in the fantasy.

That is his bottom line.

So it seems unlikely he will sign up to any sort of deal that would allow Iran to postpone those nuclear talks for the time being.

He’s also very much aware the blockade is doing significant economic damage to Iran. He thinks it’s putting the Iranians under extreme pressure and, as he said on social media, he’s waiting for Iran to effectively sort out its leadership so they can work out who to speak to.

Strait of Hormuz should have ‘never been closed’

Qatar’s FM spokesperson al-Ansari says they are engaging with all their interlocutors over reopening the Strait.

“We believe it should have never been closed and it should be opened immediately, regardless of other considerations going on in the region,” he said.

Qatar in favour of ‘comprehensive deal’ to end conflict

The spokesperson said that Doha would be in favour of a “comprehensive deal” to end the conflict, following a question about reports that Iran wants to decouple Hormuz talks from nuclear discussions.

Lebanon:

Lebanon began discussing the group’s full disarmament, while debates raged within the country over Hezbollah’s future as a military and political power.

However, Hezbollah is now back on the battlefield, fighting Israel in southern Lebanon and appears not to be as degraded a fighting force as many had believed.
