Three people, reportedly including a pregnant woman, were injured on Monday morning in Paris after a man went on a stabbing attack in the French capital.

UPDATE 1330: The mayor of the local 17th arrondissement, Geoffroy Boulard, has confirmed on X that one of the victims in the apparent stabbing attack was pregnant. Le Parisien reported that the victims are 19, 24, and 36 years old.

Despite the attacker reportedly claiming that he was motivated by “Allah”, the case is not currently being treated as a terror incident. A source close to the investigation told Le Parisien: “The guy said Allah sent me to kill women. But no, he’s crazy.”

According to a report from the Parisien newspaper, three women were attacked in the street by a knifeman near the Porte de Clichy metro station in northern Paris on Monday. The paper asserted that one of the three victims was pregnant at the time of the attack.

A separate report from Le Figaro stated that two of the victims are currently in critical condition, while the third is in serious condition.

“They were taken care of by emergency services and transported to the hospital,” a Paris police prefecture spokesman stated.

Le Figaro said that an off-duty police officer had witnessed a man with two knives attacking a pedestrian. He is said to have called for backup and eventually apprehended the suspect.

The paper cited footage circulating on social media, which appeared to show the suspected knifeman being held down by multiple people. In the video, he is reportedly heard saying: “Allah commanded me”.

Le Parisien reported that the suspect is a 31-year-old male. No further information on his background has been made public at the time of this reporting.

Pauline Hanson “racially discriminated against a Muslim senator” in a 2022 tweet by telling her to return to Pakistan, a court has ruled, upholding an earlier decision.
 
The One Nation party leader had appealed a 2024 ruling that found she had breached the Racial Discrimination Act when she responded to a post by Senator Mehreen Faruqi with an “angry personal attack” that was described as “anti-Muslim”.
 
Hanson had argued in the Federal Court that political communication should be protected, but Justice Melissa Perry dismissed her appeal on Monday.
 
“Today’s win is for every single person who has been made to feel that their belonging in this country is conditional,” Faruqi said outside court.
 
“This case was always about holding to account racism and holding to account those who perpetrate racism,” she added. “Hate speech is not free speech.”
 
On the day Queen Elizabeth II died in September 2022, Faruqi offered condolences to those mourning the Queen in a social media post. However, she added: “I cannot mourn the leader of a racist empire built on stolen lives, land and wealth of colonised people.”
 
Hanson responded with a post that Judge Angus Stewart described in 2024 as “a variant of the slogan, ‘go back to where you came from’”.
 
The phrase was “a racist trope with a long history” and “implicitly” targeted Muslims, he said.
 
He ordered Hanson to delete the tweet and pay Faruqi’s legal costs.
 
Faruqi, the deputy leader of the Greens, took Hanson to court after the tweet was posted, arguing that it breached the Racial Discrimination Act.
 
She argued that the post was reasonably likely to offend, insult, humiliate or intimidate another person or group and was made because of her race, colour, or national or ethnic origin.
 
Hanson has previously advocated for a “Muslim ban” on immigration and earlier this year attracted criticism for an interview in which she suggested there were no “good” Muslims.

Here’s what we know about the attack and suspect:

A major manhunt

German authorities launched a major manhunt after an attacker drove a van into a crowd near Saturday’s Pride celebrations before stabbing several people with a machete.

Police identified the suspect as Abdul B., a 21-year-old, German citizen of Lebanese background who was born in Germany in 2005, and published his pictures, asking the public for any information on his whereabouts.

Speaking to reporters on Sunday afternoon, German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt described the incident as an “Islamist terror attack.” One person was killed and 29 others were injured, some severely, he said.

Dobrindt said the suspect had used the vehicle as a weapon before allegedly attacking other people with what was believed to be a machete.

Police said Sunday that none of the injured remained in a life-threatening condition.

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz condemned the incident as a “heinous act” and an attack on German society.

Pride celebrations interrupted

Before the attack, people had celebrated peacefully, marching through the city for hours, dancing to loud music and cheering as around 80 floats traveled along the parade route.

The purpose of these captures was slavery. Another aspect of this slavery was white women (preferably virgins) to populate the harems of the Arab Sheikhs and Beys.
 
The Arabs and the Moors were the foremost exponents of this trade as they had a penchant for fair and golden-haired white girls. This trade lasted much longer than the black slave trade and overshot it by hundreds of years.

John Esposito: Apologist of Islam or Messenger of Islamic Da’wah?

John Esposito is a professor at Georgetown University and the head of the “Prince Alwaleed Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding.”  He is considered one of the foremost apologists of radical Islam in American academia.  The term “apologist” means one who denies events and activities of a group or who uses selective perceptions and cognitive biases to whitewash reality.  However, it is more fitting to view Esposito as a Da’i, or an Islamic propagator who uses Da’wah, the propagation of deceit.

From the very beginning, Islam has been spread by two arms: the violent jihad and the political Da’wah (16:125)i.  Da’wah serves as a diplomatic means of religious legitimization through which to invite all human beings to accept Islam as the only supreme and perfect religion (5:3; 9:33). According to Da’wah, which preaches the message of Allah’s infinite wisdom (6:38), it is in humanity’s best interest to submit to Islam (7:158; 21:107).  Since Islam is perfect, no one may doubt it, use logic to determine its validity, or judge it by human conceptions (4:115; 5:72-3; 10:69-70; 29:68; 36:64-5).  Any of these transgressions constitutes heresy and warrants the death penalty.
