President Donald Trump announced Sunday the U.S. Navy will begin blockading ships in the Strait of Hormuz, the news coming after he said Iran promised to open the strait but ultimately did not.

In a post to Truth Social, Trump described the operation as a favor to countries around the world that lack the courage or will to do it themselves.
In a lengthy post, the president slammed claims by the “Fake News Media” that Iran is winning the war, declaring instead that the Islamic Republic is “LOSING, and LOSING BIG!”
Trump began, “The Fake News Media has lost total credibility, not that they had any to begin with. Because of their massive Trump Derangement Syndrome (Sometimes referred to as TDS!), they love saying that Iran is ‘winning’ when, in fact, everyone knows that they are LOSING, and LOSING BIG!”
“Their Navy is gone, their Air Force is gone, their Anti Aircraft apparatus is nonexistent, Radar is dead, their Missile and Drone Factories have been largely obliterated along with the Missiles and Drones themselves and, most importantly, their longtime ‘Leaders’ are no longer with us, praise be to Allah!” Trump continued.
“The only thing they have going is the threat that a ship may ‘bunk’ into one of their sea mines which, by the way, all 28 of their mine dropper boats are also lying at the bottom of the sea,” Trump wrote. “We’re now starting the process of clearing out the Strait of Hormuz as a favor to Countries all over the World, including China, Japan, South Korea, France, Germany, and many others. Incredibly, they don’t have the Courage or Will to do this work themselves.”
Trump explained that while the world benefits from a reopened and secure strait, empty oil-carrying ships from multiple nations are now steaming toward U.S. ports to load up on American oil rather than relying on Middle Eastern supplies.
“Very interestingly, however, empty Oil carrying ships from many Nations are all heading to the United States of America to LOAD UP with Oil. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP,” the president concluded.

Trump has denounced NATO saying the alliance “wasn’t there when we needed them and they won’t be there if we need them again”.
On Wednesday’s broadcast of CNN’s “The Lead,” NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said that some NATO members did fail their tests during the war in Iran, but “a large majority” of European nations lived up to their commitments.
Host Jake Tapper asked, “Do you agree that NATO countries, some of them, were tested and failed?”
Rutte answered, “Some of them, yes, but a large majority of European countr[ies] — and that’s what we discussed today — have done what they promised before in a case like this, because they know that, when it comes to NATO, it’s there to protect the United States, because the U.S. needs a secure Atlantic and a secure Arctic and a secure Europe to stay safe here in the U.S. mainland. But it is also there to make sure that, of course, Europe is safe, and to be this platform of power projection for the United States. So, what the U.S. did with Iran, they could do because so many European countries lived up to those commitments, not all of them. And I totally understand his disappointment about that. Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz just a few hours into the ceasefire agreement due to Israeli strikes in Lebanon.
Iran reportedly violated the ceasefire agreement brokered by Pakistan in a matter of hours by once again closing the Strait of Hormuz to commercial traffic, ostensibly because Israel has refused to halt its operation against the Hezbollah terrorists of Lebanon.
Iran’s state-run Fars news agency, which is affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), said on Wednesday morning that two oil tankers were allowed to pass through the Strait of Hormuz “with permission from Iran” – but the strait was then closed again “in response to Israeli strikes in Lebanon.”
CBS News reported that Iran’s remaining naval forces are still warning ships in the Persian Gulf that they must obtain “permission” from Iran to transit the Strait of Hormuz.
Israeli officials, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz, said on Wednesday morning that Lebanon was never part of the ceasefire arrangement. President Donald Trump also said on Wednesday that Lebanon was “not included in the deal” because of the “separate skirmish” between Israel and Hezbollah.

Alireza Rahimi, Iran’s deputy minister of youth and sports, has called on Iranians, including youth, artists and athletes, to form human chains at power plants across the country at 2pm (10:30 GMT) tomorrow to denounce the US bombing threats against the facilities.
