A city council has pushed its residents to become vegetarian as part of its plan to bring its suburbs back from ‘the precipice of climate and ecological collapse’.

Melbourne‘s Yarra City Council, responsible for big inner-city suburbs such as Richmond, Collingwood and Fitzroy, unanimously voted to pass its 81-page Climate Emergency Plan on Tuesday night.

The 2024-2030 plan recommends the council’s residents ‘act on the climate emergency’ by switching to a plant-based diet, using more active and public transport and ‘consuming resources consciously’.

From its inception, the environmental movement was hijacked by Marxists.

What we are witnessing from ideological zealots masquerading as academics is a Mao-style purge. In the USA, lawfare and mass censorship are being used to jail political opponents. We must resist this authoritarian rule.

It’s no secret that the vast majority of the so-called elites are advocates of climate alarmism and are taken in by the Green New Scam.

Climate alarmism is based almost entirely on computer models, which depend on the inputs the modelers themselves build into them. A model is only as good as the inputs and assumptions programmed into it.

Virtually every one of these models has overestimated warming, sometimes by orders of magnitude, because it’s based on faulty assumptions that overestimate the impact of CO2 on climate.

In other words, it’s junk science. But they keep relying on these models because their political agenda requires it.

X/Twitter owner Elon Musk has claimed the European Union attempted to blackmail him into permitting secret censorship at the behest of Brussels, and accused other social platforms of taking such deals.

The European Union moved to make its new Digital Services Act (DSA) felt on Friday, accusing Elon Musk-owned X (formerly Twitter) of breaching these European Union rules, and threatening fines. Musk hit back immediately, saying the DSA itself was the source of “misinformation” and alleging the European Union had tried to broker a secret deal with him to achieve EU-directed censorship.

He wrote in his claim: “The European Commission offered [X] an illegal secret deal: if we quietly censored speech without telling anyone, they would not fine us.” Musk asserted “The other platforms accepted that deal” but that he did not.

Musk said, further: “We look forward to a very public battle in court, so that the people of Europe can know the truth.”

Sky News has exclusively obtained disturbing new video of Mohammad Sharab, who is on bail for unrelated charges of kidnapping and assault, calling for death to America and its allies and warning he and supporters would dig “tunnels”, understood to be a reference to Hamas’ terror tunnels.

The tirade took place outside the US Consulate in Melbourne’s CBD on US Independence Day on July 4, in full view of police.

“We believe in the armed resistance, I say bring back the armed resistance,” Sharab can be heard telling a cheering crowd of pro-Palestinian protesters.
