Outrage erupted after a “Why Islam?” table at a Texas high school handed out Qurans, pamphlets about Sharia law and hijabs in February.

A counter-response surfaced outside Wylie East High School on Tuesday; a table stocked with Bibles, miniature Jesus figures, and bracelets set up near the parking lot before school.

Some participants also held signs reading, “Bibles Not Qurans,” directly responding to the earlier Islam display.

Fox News Digital spoke with people at the demonstration, which included parents with kids in the district, local activists, students and organizers of the Bible handout. According to organizers, hundreds of Bibles were handed out.

A White House official told Breitbart News Friday evening that President Donald Trump will only make a deal with Iran that “satisfies his redlines” following a Situation Room meeting held midday.

The president emphasized his red lines in the post announcing the meeting, including that Iran must agree it cannot have a nuclear weapon, that the Strait of Hormuz must reopen, that Iran must clear mines in the Strait, and that its enriched uranium must be turned over to the United States for destruction:

Iran must agree that they will never have a Nuclear Weapon or Bomb. The Hormuz Strait must be immediately open, no tolls, for unrestricted shipping traffic, in both directions. All water mines (bombs), if any, will be terminated (we have removed, through detonation, numerous such mines with our great underwater mine sweepers. Iran will complete the immediate removal and/or detonation of any mines that are left, which will not be many!). Ships caught in the Strait due to our amazing and unprecedented Naval Blockade, which will now be lifted, may start the process of “heading home!” Say HELLO to your wives, husbands, parents, and families from me, your favorite President! The enriched material, sometimes referred to as “Nuclear Dust,” which is buried deep underground with virtually collapsed mountains, caused by our powerful B2 Bomber attack 11 months ago, sitting on top of it, will be unearthed by the United States (which, it is agreed, is the only Country, along with China, with the mechanical capability of doing so!), in close coordination and conjunction with the Islamic Republic of Iran, plus the International Atomic Energy Agency, and DESTROYED. Iran said on Wednesday that a return to war with the United States was unlikely as the two sides inched towards a deal, though President Donald Trump said he was not happy with Tehran’s latest offer.

The US leader warned he might be compelled to “finish the job” if a better arrangement was not reached, even as optimism for a peace deal that would reopen the crucial Strait of Hormuz trade route sent oil prices tumbling.

With fighting paused since an April 8 ceasefire, negotiations to bring an end to the conflict and resume trade through the blockaded waterway have stalled, leaving the global economy shaken by the tumult.

But senior Iranian Revolutionary Guards official Mohammad Akbarzadeh said the likelihood of a return to “war is low because of the enemy’s weakness”, but warned the military was “lying in wait with full magazines” in the event of an attack, Tasnim news agency reported.

Trump, meanwhile, said in a cabinet meeting at the White House that he was in no rush to reach an accord, despite saying at the weekend that one was close.

“Iran is very much intent, they want very much to make a deal. So far they haven’t gotten there. We’re not satisfied with it, but we will be,” he said.

“Either that or we’ll have to just finish the job.”

Both have cautioned that the two sides still disagree sharply on core issues remaining unresolved and that talks will take time to yield results, but the tone of their remarks indicated an optimism absent from previous attempts at ending the conflict.

President Donald Trump says he has instructed the negotiators “not to rush into a deal” with Iran since “time is on our side”, adding that the US blockade in the Strait of Hormuz “will remain in full force and effect until an agreement is reached, certified, and signed”.
The threat of renewed war with Iran “still looms large”, according to Al Jazeera’s team in Washington, DC, as “the US president still leaves open the opportunity to launch military strikes”.
The development comes after Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the next round of talks between the US and Iran would happen “very soon”.
