Imagine for a moment that you are a terrorist, and you had a large number of rockets, guns, rifles, ammo, explosive devices, and grenades on hand, and more coming in all the time. Where would you store it all? UK History: Barbary Raiders Were a Real, Persistent Threat

A United Nations agency told countries to “strongly discourage” merchant ship crews from acquiring firearms to defend against piracy, despite 90 sailors being held hostage by Somali pirates.

The UN is a disgrace.

The Strait of Malacca and the waters around Singapore saw the most attacks or attempted attacks, accounting for 122 of the 171 incidents, according to the annual report. The narrow waters, large amount of traffic and the numerous islands, inlets and coastal areas that can provide concealment and escape routes for pirates contributed to the frequency of attacks in that region, according to a Security Outlines report.

In 1625, the Mayor of Bristol sent an alarming report to the English
government: three Turkish pirate ships had seized the island of Lundy, in
the Bristol Channel, carried off its inhabitants to be sold as slaves, and
were now threatening to burn the nearby town of Ilfracombe unless a large
ransom was paid.

THE ISLAND

Lundy sits directly in the shipping lanes leading in and out of the
Bristol Channel, small, remote, and difficult to reach, making it an
ideal hideout. For a time, contemporary reports describe Barbary corsairs
using the island as a base, with the flag of Islam raised over its stone
castle in place of an English one.

Worth being honest here: modern historians have pushed back on just how
continuous this occupation actually was. An English naval officer at the
time, Thomas Harris of HMS Phoenix, denied the initial reports outright,
and a government inquiry turned up conflicting accounts. What isn’t in
dispute is that Barbary raiders were a real, persistent presence in the
Bristol Channel for years, using Lundy and nearby waters to strike the
English and Welsh coastline again and again.

THE RAIDS

From this base, corsairs terrorized the coasts of Cornwall, Devon, and
Dorset for years. In one especially brazen raid, Dutch convert Jan
Janszoon, known as Murat Reis the Younger, led his men into a church
mid-service on a Sunday and dragged sixty worshippers straight out of the
congregation into slavery.

WHAT’S LEFT

It took years, and eventually a dedicated English naval expedition under
Captain John Penington, to finally clear the corsairs from Lundy for
good.

Even then, reports of Barbary ships using the island resurfaced as
late as 1635

The same fields that funded a failed Marxist experiment will now fund American prosperity and Venezuelan reconstruction at the same time.

The skeptics screamed chaos. Newsweek already put the verdict on the cover: Trump was right. Six months later the chaos never arrived. Now the oil deal locks in the prize. This is what America First actually looks like when it is allowed to work, abundance instead of managed decline, sovereignty instead of dependence, and a future that belongs to the people who still believe in building rather than rationing.

Never forget who tried to keep that oil buried under socialism. Never forget who went and took it back.

Iran in Deep Shiite

The key to the downfall of the Islamic Republic is when it can no longer afford to pay its repressive forces and mercenaries.

The regime has survived economic collapse and repeated nationwide uprisings because it has kept the IRGC, Basij and security apparatus paid, armed and loyal, while also relying on foreign and proxy forces during periods of severe unrest.

That is why the collapse in oil exports matters so much. The IRGC had grown to control as much as half of Iran’s oil trade, tying the regime’s most important source of revenue directly to the machinery that protects it. Iranian oil loadings have reportedly plunged from roughly 1.7–2.2 million barrels per day before the war to around 250,000 in August.

The Islamic Republic can survive an impoverished population if it can still finance repression. But when it can no longer pay the forces it depends on to crush dissent, the foundations of the regime begin to crack.

Unironically. In the islamic regime’s latest law being passed at this moment, they’re banning all scholarships, studies and work in other countries that aren’t approved by the Ministry of Intelligence.

They’re also banning all contact with “hostile entities”, which at this point is basically the entire outside world. In addition to this, the law applies to Iranians already studying and working abroad too.

What does this mean? It means almost everyone in Iran is banned from moving out the country for work or studies unless they are regime-linked.

This locks down the entire younger generation from ever emigrating. It also means millions of Iranians abroad will be arrested if they dare travel back, even if they have no activist or political history, because they probably work or study in “unapproved” institutions.

Step by step, the islamic regime is locking down the country and turning Iran into a true open air prison. Hell on Earth.
