This is the same Islamic tactic Muslim cabbies used when they told the airport they wouldn’t bend in alcohol dispute . Customer service and faith clash at registers Some Muslim cashiers at Target refuse to handle pork, setting off another debate over the place of religion in society.
Beryl Dsouza was late and in no mood for delays when she stopped at a Target store after work two weeks ago for milk, bread and bacon.
So Dsouza was taken aback when the cashier — who had on the traditional headscarf, or hijab, worn by many Muslim women — refused to swipe the bacon through the checkout scanner.
“She made me scan the bacon. Then she opened the bag and made me put it in the bag,” said Dsouza, 53, of Minneapolis. “It made me wonder why this person took a job as a cashier.”

Instead of swiping the items themselves, they are asking non-Muslim employees or shoppers to do it for them.
It has set off a firestorm of comments — more than 400, as of Tuesday evening — on the Star Tribune’s community blog, www.buzz.mn. People called the newspaper from as far as Tokyo to voice their opinion.
It remains unclear how many Muslim cashiers in the Twin Cities are declining to ring up pork sales.

Yeah, Target is something else. Just the other day I was at the checkout line in one (I have the misfortune of residing in the Caliphate of Minnesota-not only that, but I’m the unproud resident of Muslim Congressman Keith Ellison’s district as well) and I thought I was in Mogadishu. Three straight checkouts had cashiers with red headscarves (red is Target’s color) and I didn’t even turn around to see most of the checkouts. Every Target I’ve been in has at least one red headscarf at the checkout line. Target makes a fortune- they need to get some cashiers that are not going to be a problem. But heaven forbid! That would be politically incorrect in the state that prides itself on “Minnesota Nice”. Maybe I’ll start buying bacon and only bacon at Target from now on even though I rarely eat the stuff!
Well, at leat they wore happy colours! A safeway in melbourne employs a muslim fully decked out in a Darth Vader style hajib. Maybe it’s just me, but I find that vaguely disturbing.
Fascinating. I might have to go out of my way and do some shopping at the appropriate times with a texta in hand to cover the lable stating it’s pork or ham, once paid for and bagged I’ll retrieve it and show the mis-fortunate ‘check-out chic’ that she has just committed a grave sin. When her beady eyes widen I’ll say, “you’re in the wrong business, sweetheart”.
It would be interesting to find out if any learned Wahaabi imams have been making the rounds of Minnesotan mosques lately. This sudden upsurge in sharia is simply too coordinated to be the result of some ‘personal inner spiritual struggle’. Coupled with the cab drivers, this smacks of a campaign to push non-Muslims as far as possible, a campaign that is directed from above.
