After eight years of blackmail, intimidation, haggling and wrangling with Libya’s clownish dictator Muammar Gaddafi over the release of 5 Bulgarian nurses, falsely accused of infecting Libyan children with the aids-virus and sentenced to death, Gaddafi’s victims are -finally- on their way home. The EU has caved in and finally agreed to pay the jiziyah, the tribute that Europe -somehow- always paid to the Bey’s of Tunis, while Thomas Jefferson, one of the greatest US presidents, is famously on record with “Millions for defense, not one cent for tribute”-and had America’s first Navy built instead, which shot up Tripoli and Algiers 200 years ago, in order to stop the ‘Algeriennes’ from pirate raids on American merchant ships and enslaving their crews.

PARIS, France (Reuters) — Six foreign medics convicted of infecting hundreds of Libyan children with HIV have left Libya for Bulgaria aboard a French presidential jet, France said on Tuesday.

Rossen Markov wears a T-shirt that reads “Justice for our medics in Libya” in Bulgarian and English.

“The aircraft of the French republic has taken off from Libya bound for Sofia with the five Bulgarian nurses and the doctor of Palestinian origin on board,” the French presidency said in a statement.

“The French President, Mr Nicolas Sarkozy, and the President of the European Commission, Mr Jose Manuel Barroso, welcome the agreement that has at last allowed this release and the return to Bulgaria of the nurses held for more than eight years, and of the Palestinian doctor,” the statement said.

Bulgaria’s Foreign Ministry confirmed the medics had left Libya.

“They have left their airport in Libya and are now flying … We expect in them in Sofia,” Deputy Foreign Minister Feim Chaushev told Reuters.

The medics, who spent over eight years in Libyan jail, were accompanied by EU External Relations Commissioner Benita Ferrero-Waldner and France’s First Lady Cecilia Sarkozy, Chaushev said. The two were in Tripoli to help release the medics, who say they are innocent.

The French statement also welcomed the setting up of improved health care for children suffering from AIDS in Libya.

Libya lifted death sentences against the medics last week and commuted them to terms of life imprisonment.

The EU, once again, caves in to a criminal bully and pays millions, many millions in ransom, to Gaddafi to release 5 wretched nurses falsely accused and imprisoned for 8 years. Appeasement is not the way to deal with terror.

The 30-second sound-blib made it sound as if Lockerbie and the
La Belle Disco never happened, as if the Bulgarian nurses brought it all upon themselves and, of course, finally, the inevitable ‘if we don’t do it, who will’- BLiar, who represented himself, seemed most concerned to get a piece of the action for British firms since the Italians already had a headstart….
