The Qur’an (4:34) tells men to beat their disobedient wives after first warning them and then sending them to sleep in separate beds. This is, of course, an extremely controversial verse, and many Islamic spokesmen and others in the West deny that it has anything to do with wife-beating, so it is worth noting how several translators render the key word here, وَاضْرِبُوهُنَّ, waidriboohunna.

Al-Hilali/Khan: “(and last) beat them (lightly, if it is useful)”

Marriage guides promote domestic violence
Same old s#*t: Muslims get caught and the obligatory whining and howling begins. Given that this has gone on for quite a long time now you would think that severe measures are being taken to deal with this and remedy the situation, but I’m afraid we will hear and see domestic violence by these misunderstanders of Islam for years to come.
Some Sydney Islamic bookshops and online stores are selling guide books to marriage which encourage domestic violence.
A Current Affair reports one of the books, titled An Excellent Husband, contains a passage that advises it is okay for husbands to beat their wives.
“The Muslim husband wins the heart of his wife so she does not disobey him in anything.
“If they are guilty of open lewdness, then refuse to share their beds … beat them, but not severely,” the passage reads.
But Rebecca Kaye, an Australian who converted to Islam seven years ago, told the program the reference to beating in the book was a misinterpretation of a verse from the Koran.
“Islam does not promote the beating of women,” she said.
“In Islamic … and non-Islamic households, domestic violence is a crime.”
“That’s regardless of what appears in these books … or those who use religion to excuse an attack on a woman.”

They are full of this shit – remember taqiyya. This is it in the making. One day I will send in my photos which are far more horrendous than anything I have ever seen on the net. And it is happening right here. People wonder why it is not reported and I can tell you why. When a woman is beaten very badly, she is scared out of her wits. The abuser will not allow her out of his sight until she has heeled so no photographic evidence can be taken. It is the same with AVO’s. They are also useless. A determined criminal will rip a phone out of the wall or even if an attempt is made to call the police the repercussions on the victim can be horrendous. The criminal who bashed me jumped on my mobile phone and smashed it so I could not get any help. There is always the additional threat to our families. They can get away with it and they do.
I’d be more than happy to drive Rebecca to the airport so she can travel to an Islamic country to see how women really live…..What about the backwaters of Pakistan?

I KNOW this is what Shariah says but my experience having had TWO Indonesian Muslim wives, one previous and one current, is that THEY are made of pretty strong stuff and dont take too much crap from their guys. In fact the first one turned in to a Dragon Lady on marriage and wanted to control ME. Of course that may be just because I am a thoughtful, tolerant easy going and liberal (in its PURE true sense not in a left wing moonbat nonsense) sort of guy. Having said that the one I Divorced was really really easy I just stopped giving her money and SHE divorced me, it was in the marriage contract.
Why do we have to be subjected to all this primitive shit? Why not just send all these miserable bastards/sons of satan back to their original countries so that we can go back to living our normal lives, free from all this prehistoric stuff.

No, wife beating is never justified in True Islam. Prophet Noah and Prophet Lot’s wives disobeyed their husbands. Did these Prophets ever beat their wives?
What if the husband is the problem? Would our Mullahs allow a wife to beat her husband who gambles, drinks alcohol, or patronizes prostitutes?
Here is the correct translation of the verse 4:34 and 4:35.
(4:34) [...]as for those women whose animosity or ill-will you have reason to fear, then leave them alone in bed, and then separate; and if thereupon they pay you heed, do not seek a way against them. God is Most High, Great.
(4:35) And if ye fear a breach between them twain (the man and the wife), appoint an arbiter from his folk and an arbiter from her folk. If they desire amendment Allah will make them of one mind. Lo! Allah is ever Knower, Aware.

Yes, Qur’an 4:34 really does say “beat them.” Perhaps if Muslim apologists — professional and amateur — and spokespeople spent less time trying to convince Western audiences that the Qur’an doesn’t really quite say what it says, and focused that same level of effort instead on stopping their coreligionists’ alleged “misunderstandings” (including imams) and “cultural” misconduct, there would be fewer stories like this for us to so rudely report on.
Of course, real progress would require a forthright acknowledgment of the contents of the Qur’an. No more tap-dancing around “context” or playing the “lost in translation” card. And no more trying to excuse the inexcusable.
Oh, and just for a touch of irony, what has the imam been lecturing about at the Catholic university? Non-violence.

A Muslim imam who lectures on non-violence and advises the German government on interfaith issues has been arrested in Germany for beating up his wife.
Sheikh Abu Adam, 40, is now on remand in Munich while his wife, 31, is being guarded by police.
She was allegedly assaulted so badly that she suffered a broken nose and shoulder and numerous cuts and bruises.
Media reports claimed the woman, who has borne one of his ten children, wanted to live a more ‘western’ lifestyle and was allegedly attacked after telling her husband.
The police said they received a call from a lawyer hired by the victim.
Adam is alleged to have shouted a verse from the Koran at his wife as he beat her.
Qur’an 4:34 is quoted almost entirely below:
The line said: ‘Good women are obedient. They guard their unseen parts because God has guarded them.
‘As for those from whom you fear disobedience, admonish them and send them to beds apart and beat them.’
The imam is said to have refused to let police officers into his home, but they forced their way past him because they feared the woman’s life was in danger.
Sheikh Adam is the Egyptian imam of the Darul Quran Mosque in Munich.
He is facing charges of causing grievous bodily harm and could face a jail term if convicted.
A week ago, he held a lecture at the city’s Catholic University entitled ‘An Islam which distances itself from violence’.
He also spoke at a recent conference called ‘meeting Islam in Europe’ and met German justice Sabine Leutheusser Schnarrenberger there.
His “moderate” credentials should be in jeopardy right about now, between this and his having three wives, as was reported earlier. And to demonstrate further the uselessness of frequently applied labels:
Adam was assigned bodyguards on the outside because of his calls for Muslims to reject radical Islam. He is also being guarded while on remand from racist prisoners.
