Women are polluting:
Koran sura 5.6 (repeated in sura 4.43 –re removing pollution before praying) And if ye are sick on a journey, or one of you cometh from the closet or ye have contact with women and ye find not water, then go to clean high ground and rub your faces and your hands with some of it
“When it’s time to pray and you have just used the toilet or touched a woman, be sure to wash up. If you can’t find any water, just rub some dirt on yourself. 5:6
Muhammad described women as “unclean” creatures. In a Hadith, Muhammad says, “Three things corrupt prayer: Women, dogs, and donkeys.” There are several other sayings in which Muhammad reduced women to the level of an animal. “Woman is a vile beast,” and “I think that women were created for nothing but evil.”
“‘The woman has two things to cover her: the grave and marriage.’ It was asked, ‘Which of them is better?’ He (Muhammad) said, ‘The grave.’”
Tabari I:280 “Allah said, ‘It is My obligation to make Eve bleed once every month as she made this tree bleed. I must also make Eve stupid, although I created her intelligent.’ Because Allah afflicted Eve, all of the women of this world menstruate and are stupid.”
Pity a Muslim woman having the very grave misfortune to be born into Islam. She is half a human being. The reason for her existence is to serve her husband and obey his commands unconditionally.
The woman has no right to behave as though she possesses any authority or influence over her husband. They don’t have any voice unless their husbands ask their opinion. Muhammad said that: he “forbade women to talk except by leave of their husbands.”
Women are not allowed to go out except out of necessity, but for the occasion of the two feasts: The Greater Bairam (festival) and the Lesser Bairam. They are also not allowed to walk down the roads, but keep to the edges of the street. “Women are not allowed to use the middle of the road.”, “Women are not to be greeted nor to greet.”
“If it had been given me to order someone to prostrate themselves in front of someone other than God, I would surely have ordered women to prostrate themselves in front of their husbands.”
“A woman cannot fulfil her duties towards god without first having accomplished those that she owes her husband.”
Muhammad liked his women clean:
Sahih Bukhari:Volume 7, Book 62, Number 173 (also 169, 172):Narrated Jabir bin ‘Abdullah: The Prophet said, “If you enter (your town) at night (after coming from a journey), do not enter upon your family till the woman whose husband was absent (from the house) shaves her pubic hair and the woman with unkempt hair, combs her hair” Allah’s Apostle further said, “(O Jabir!) Seek to have offspring, seek to have offspring!”
As a baby factory, she also has to bear him children and hide herself from the public, as though her very existence were a shame. If she displeases him – he has the full right to beat her.
“Men are in charge of women, because Allah hath made the one of them to excel the other, and because they spend of their property (for the support of women). So good women are the obedient, guarding in secret that which Allah hath guarded. As for those from whom ye fear rebellion, admonish them and banish them to beds apart, and scourge them” (4:34).
These are the things Muslim women should not do:
1. She should avoid standing on the balcony.
2. She should conceal herself while welcoming men at the door.
3. She should not go out after she has used perfume.
4. She should wear her dresses long and not imitate unbelieving women.
5. She should not speak in a loud voice.
6. She should not walk in the middle of the road.
7. She should not mingle with men or shake hands with them.
These are the things Muslim women should do:
1. Speak softly and honorably when you are walking.
2. Walk by the side of the road, and keep away from the middle.
3. Beware of standing by the door to welcome guests.
4. Do not go out of your home frequently for unnecessary things.
5. Do not lower your veil outside your house under any circumstances whatever.
6. When you stand in the balcony, take care what you wear.
7. Beware of shaking hands with strange men. Don’t travel without a guardian relative. These two actions are abominations.
8. Watch not to waste your time uselessly; so praise [God] and ask for His pardon frequently in an inaudible voice.
9. Avoid turning around and always look down.
10. You are weak and in need of your Lord’s mercy; so raise your hands up to Him constantly asking for His pardon for your guilt, and for health for your good deeds.
Tabari IX:113 “Allah permits you to shut them in separate rooms and to beat them, but not severely. If they abstain, they have the right to food and clothing. Treat women well for they are like domestic animals and they possess nothing themselves. Allah has made the enjoyment of their bodies lawful in his Qur’an.
65.4 You can marry (and divorce) little girls who have not yet reached menstruation age.
Muhammad married Ayesha at age 6 to comply with this aya. However due to her tender age he had to restrict himself to thighing before she reached age of 9.
Thighing is defined by Islamic scholar Khomeini in “Tahrirolvasyleh” fourth volume, Darol Elm, Gom, Iran, 1990 as follows: “Thighing is a means for an adult male to enjoy a young girl who is still in the age of weaning; meaning to place his penis between her thighs, and to kiss her.” The following is from a committee of muslim ulema answering the question: “the Prophet, the peace of Allah be upon him, practiced “thighing” of Aisha – the mother of believers – may Allah be pleased with her.”
SEX AFTER FLOGGING:
Bukhari Volume 7, Book 62, Number 132: Narrated ‘Abdullah bin Zam’a: The Prophet said, “None of you should flog his wife as he flogs a slave and then have sexual intercourse with her in the last part of the day.” Ideally when you flog one of your wives, let her recuperate that day and sleep with your other wives or your slave girls HOW TO BEAT YOUR WIFE TO AVOID BREAKING HER BONES Islamic way of beating or flogging wives is striking at their padded areas to avoid breaking any bones. Here is an example how considerate our prophet was when he beat his wives on their padded parts. Muslim Book 004, Number 2127: Ayesha narrated. “He struck me on the chest which caused me pain. “ (However if your wife is breast feeding , prefer to strike on her buttocks MERCY IN CASE OF CIRCUMCISSION OF WOMEN: In those days it was customary to cut the external female genitalia completely when circumcising women. The Prophet instructed to do cutting in moderation. That showed his kindness and concern for women’s pleasure in love making. Sunan Abu Dawud Book 41, Number 5251: Narrated Umm Atiyyah al-Ansariyyah: A woman used to perform circumcision in Medina. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said to her: Do not cut severely as that is better for a woman and more desirable for a husband. While she is living this pathic life, her righteous husband is in the Mosque praying 5 times a day so upon his death he can ascend with a permanent hard on to a slut filled Paradise of Big breasted, Big eyed virgin sluts who re generate as virgins after each sex act – Allah’s eternal whore house. If he is inclined to young boys, they will be there as well so he can sexually molest them. But the single-minded slaves of Allah will enjoy a Garden filled with lovely-eyed virgins. 37:40-48 Female companions await those who enter the Gardens of Eden on the Day of Reckoning. 38:52 Allah will reward faithful Muslims after they die with “fair ones with wide, lovely eyes.” 44:54 Allah will reward those in the Garden with beautiful wives with wide, lovely eyes. 52:20 Allah will give those in the Garden women of modest gaze whom neither man nor jinn have touched before them. 55:56 Allah will reward believing men with “fair ones” (beautiful women)
in heaven. 55:71-72
Those in the Garden will be attended by immortal youths with wide, lovely eyes. 56:17-23
Both Allah and Muhammad hated women with a passion.
37:149-155 Now ask them their opinion: Is it that thy Lord has (only) daughters, and they have sons?- Or that We created the angels female, and they are witnesses (thereto)? Is it not that they say, from their own invention, “God has begotten children”? but they are liars! Did He (then) choose daughters rather than sons? What is the matter with you? How judge ye? Will ye not then receive admonition?
Allah and his Messenger – Muhammad regard women as sexual objects to be screwed anytime the husband wishes even on a camel saddle.
“A wife should never refuse herself to her husband even if it is on the saddle of a camel.”
Likens a woman to a field (tilth), to be used by a man as he wills: “Your women are a tilth for you (to cultivate) so go to your tilth as ye will” (2:223);
If the husband wants more sex – he can rape infidel women.
“All married women (are forbidden unto you) save those (captives) whom your right hands possess. You can’t have sex with married women, unless they are slaves obtained in war (with whom you may rape or do whatever you like).” 4:24
“You don’t have to be modest around your wives or your slave girls “that your right hand possess.” 23:6
Women are hated in the Muslim world: “Seek refuge from a WOMAN, a servant, and cattle, they are evils…” (Sunaan ibnMajah, 3. 1918). Muhammad’s final sermon, to beat WOMEN, (Sunaan ibn majah, 4. 3074). “All married women (are forbidden unto you) save those (captives) whom your right hand possesses,” (Sura 4 Verse 24 from the Muslim War Manual, the filthy Qur’an). “Either a dog, an ass, a pig, a Jew, a Magian and a WOMAN cuts off a prayer…” (Sunaan Abu Dawud, 2. 0704). “WOMEN, slaves and camels are the same, must seek Allah’s refuge from all these…” (Sunaad Abu Dawud, 11. 2155). “A black dog is satan; a black dog or a donkey or a WOMAN cancels a prayer…” (Sunaan Ibn Majah, 2. 952). “A WOMAN is a property; a righteous WOMAN is the best property…” (Sunaan ibn Majah, 3. 1855). P.S. A prenant camel during Muhammad’s time was “the best property.” To hell with the WOMEN during pedophile Muhammad’s time.
Husband has right to sex at any time

Shame! Shame!” Anas said, “She was better than you; she had a liking for the Prophet. “Muhammad’s wives need to be careful. If they criticize their husband, Allah will replace them with better ones.” 66:5 After a life time of mental and physical abuse the Muslim women’s reward is to be sent to hell for all eternity. Stay away from menstruating women
• 2:222 They ask thee concerning women’s courses. Say: They are a hurt and a pollution: So keep away from women in their courses, and do not approach them until they are clean. But when they have purified themselves, ye may approach them in any manner, time, or place ordained for you by God. For God loves those who turn to Him constantly and He loves those who keep themselves pure and clean.
Nobody can marry Muhammad’s widows after he is dead
• 33:53 And when ye ask (his ladies) for anything ye want, ask them from before a screen: that makes for greater purity for your hearts and for theirs. Nor is it right for you that ye should… marry his [Muhammad's] widows after him at any time. Truly such a thing is in God’s sight an enormity.
Muhammad’s wives should stay in their houses
• 33:32-33 O Consorts of the Prophet! … stay quietly in your houses, and make not a dazzling display, like that of the former Times of Ignorance;
Muhammad decides to marry his adopted son’s wife, despite objections
The prophet Muhammad forced his adopted son, Zaid, to divorce his wife so that Muhammad could marry her. This was scandalous for the community, but Muhammad claimed he did this because God told him to, and he told the Muslims they had no right to question his decisions. Most people thought the real reason was because Muhammad lusted after a married woman and used his authority over the community to do whatever he desired, which seems like a more likely explanation.
• 33:36-39 It is not fitting for a Believer, man or woman, when a matter has been decided by God and His Apostle to have any option about their decision: if any one disobeys God and His Apostle, he is indeed on a clearly wrong Path. Behold! Thou didst say to one who had received the grace of God and thy favour: “Retain thou (in wedlock) thy wife, and fear God.” But thou didst hide in thy heart that which God was about to make manifest: thou didst fear the people, but it is more fitting that thou shouldst fear God. Then when Zaid had dissolved (his marriage) with her, with the necessary (formality), We joined her in marriage to thee [Muhammad]: in order that (in future) there may be no difficulty to the Believers in (the matter of) marriage with the wives of their adopted sons, when the latter have dissolved with the necessary (formality) (their marriage) with them. And God’s command must be fulfilled. There can be no difficulty to the Prophet in what God has indicated to him as a duty. It was the practice (approved) of God amongst those of old that have passed away. And the command of God is a decree determined. (It is the practice of those) who preach the Messages of God, and fear Him, and fear none but God. And enough is God to call (men) to account.
Muhammad can divorce his wives whenever he wants and get new ones who are more submissive
• 66:1-5 O Prophet! Why holdest thou to be forbidden that which God has made lawful to thee? Thou seekest to please thy consorts. But God is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. God has already ordained for you, (O men), the dissolution of your oaths (in some cases): and God is your Protector, and He is Full of Knowledge and Wisdom. When the Prophet disclosed a matter in confidence to one of his consorts, and she then divulged it (to another), and God made it known to him, he confirmed part thereof and repudiated a part. Then when he told her thereof, she said, “Who told thee this? “He said, “He told me Who knows and is well-acquainted (with all things).” If ye two turn in repentance to Him, your hearts are indeed so inclined; But if ye back up each other against him, truly God is his Protector, and Gabriel, and (every) righteous one among those who believe,- and furthermore, the angels – will back (him) up. It may be, if he divorced you (all), that God will give him in exchange consorts better than you,- who submit (their wills), who believe, who are devout, who turn to God in repentance, who worship (in humility), who travel (for Faith) and fast,- previously married or virgins.
“Lewd” women should be punished with life imprisonment
• 4:15 If any of your women are guilty of lewdness, Take the evidence of four (Reliable) witnesses from amongst you against them; and if they testify, confine them to houses until death do claim them, or God ordain for them some (other) way.
It is unclear what “lewdness” actually means. This verse is so open-ended, almost any woman could potentially be accused of lewdness and sentenced to a life of house arrest, except ultraconservative women who never do anything to offend strict Muslim men.
Women should wear veils outside the home
• 24:30-31 Say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty: that will make for greater purity for them: And God is well acquainted with all that they do. And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what (must ordinarily) appear thereof; that they should draw their veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to their husbands, their fathers, their husband’s fathers, their sons, their husbands’ sons, their brothers or their brothers’ sons, or their sisters’ sons, or their women, or the slaves whom their right hands possess, or male servants free of physical needs, or small children who have no sense of the shame of sex; and that they should not strike their feet in order to draw attention to their hidden ornaments. And O ye Believers! turn ye all together towards God, that ye may attain Bliss.
Coverings should be worn by women in open society to prevent molestation (except the elderly)
• 33:59 O Prophet! Tell thy wives and daughters, and the believing women, that they should cast their outer garments over their persons (when abroad): that is most convenient, that they should be known (as such) and not molested. And God is Oft- Forgiving, Most Merciful.
• 24:60 Such elderly women as are past the prospect of marriage,- there is no blame on them if they lay aside their (outer) garments, provided they make not a wanton display of their beauty: but it is best for them to be modest: and God is One Who sees and knows all things.
It is unclear what exactly these “outer garments” are or how completely they are supposed to cover the woman’s body, but restrictive garments such as the Afghan burqa would certainly be in accordance with the Quran, and probably originated because of these Quranic verses.
It’s revolting what Islam puts women through, and to think, this is what western feminists condone….
1. Many wives Yes a man can have four wives – but only if he proves he can take care of them all equally. Tunisia outlawed polygamy on the grounds that only Muhammed could satisfy four women. (Actually 15, and he was said he did them regularly, all in one night…)
In other Islamic countries the man’s financial accounts are scrutinised by the courts before he’s allowed to marry manay women.
2. Share and share alike A man must spend an equal number of nights with each wife, but if he marries a virgin he can spend seven consecutive nights with her after the wedding. A non-virgin gets three consecutive nights.
3. Siblings A man can’t marry two women who are sisters.
4. Buying a wife Muslim marriage is not valid unless the man has paid a dower to his wife.
5. Virgins Virgins, younger women, educated women and attractive women get higher dowers. The lowest a dower can be is 3 dirhams about 40p. A wife can refuse sex if she hasn’t been paid her dower.
6. Pre-Nup Islamic law does not recognise alimony so a woman can delay receiving the dower until divorce. A man can increase the amount during marriage.
7. The mother-in-law A man must provide his wife with a house away from her in-laws and his other wives, otherwise she can leave him.
8. I divorce you In Saudi Arabia a man can divorce his wife by saying “talaq, talaq, talaq”. This can be done by text message, fax, telegram, in person, or over the phone. Other Muslim countries have outlawed this method and the husband must say “talaq” over three consecutive months for the marriage to be over.
9. I take it back A man can revoke the divorce up to three months after the divorce during which time he must maintain her financially.
10. It was his smile Simply by smiling at his wife a man can revoke his divorce three months after he has announced it.
11. Remarriage A finally divorced couple can’t remarry each other until the woman has first married someone else, had sex with him and divorced him.
12. Sexually transmitted disease A woman can get a divorce if she proves her husband has a sexually transmitted disease that could endanger her life, elephantiasis, or insanity, or if he mistreats her or fails to fulfil his sexual duties. Women now have the right to divorce by mutual consent and the wife must return her dower.
Modern apologists of Islam try to downplay the evident materialism and sexual implications of such descriptions, but, as the Encyclopaedia of Islam says, even orthodox Muslim theologians such as al Ghazali (died 1111 AD) and Al-Ash’ari (died 935 AD) have “admitted sensual pleasures into paradise”. The sensual pleasures are graphically elaborated by Al-Suyuti (died 1505 AD), Quranic commentator and polymath. He wrote: “Each time we sleep with a houri we find her virgin. Besides, the penis of the Elected never softens. The erection is eternal; the sensation that you feel each time you make love is utterly delicious and out of this world and were you to experience it in this world you would faint. Each chosen one [ie Muslim] will marry seventy [sic] houris, besides the women he married on earth, and all will have appetising vaginas.”

The absolute supremacy of Sharia is upheld in the Cairo Declaration of Human Rights in Islam (1990). Article 22 of this declaration concludes that all rights and freedoms mentioned are subject to the Islamic Sharia, which is the declaration’s sole source.
Strangely, Sharia gets furher boost when the Archbishop of Canterbury Dr Rowan Willams submits to dhimmitude by espousing that certain provisions of Sharia are inevitable in the United Kingdom .
Amazingly, even President Bush submits to Sharia when he initiates dialogue with OIC (Organisation of Islamic Conference) and to follow up, sends his special envoy Mr. Sada Cumber (March 5, 2008) to meet the OIC Secretary General Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu.
Thus, due the apathy of the civilized world, it is apparent that Sharia is slowly but steadily building up momentum to engulf the entire world. The only way to halt this incursion of Sharia is a firm rejection of it by the entire world population, irrespective of what their politically correct governments are doing to please Islam and the Arabs. FP: What, in your view, is the element of Sharia that nurtures injustice?
Kasem: The most unfair element of Sharia is that it repudiates the fundamental principle of justice, that is: equality in the eye of law. In Sharia, Muslims and non-Muslims are not equal. This inequality extends even to the treatment of Muslim women. Muslim women are not treated as equal to Muslim men in the tenets of Sharia. Here is a glaring example: According to Saudi law (strictly based on Islamic Sharia) the life of a Muslim male is much higher than a non-Muslim man, and the life of female Muslim is much lower than that of Muslim man.

The inequality of Muslims and non-Muslims is enshrined in the Qur’an and hadis. Here are a few examples:
A Muslim must not be killed for killing an infidel (Hadis and ibn Kathir’s interpretation of verse5:45 ). Believers and non-believers are not equal…6:50, 28:61, 32:19, 35:19-22, 38:28, 39:9, 40:58, 45:21, 59:20, 67:22, 68:35 That is why Sharia is a great insult to a civilized world. FP: Ok, so let’s move on. Tell us how Islamic law dictates every single aspect of human life. Kasem: I can give a sample of Sharia laws as enunciated in several authentic Islamic sources. Mind you these laws are not from the dead pages of history. Many of these laws are vigorously enforced in Islamic countries. The Sharia laws I will discuss are extracted from: Reliance of the Traveller (Umdat al-Saliq) translated by Nuh Ha Mim Keller. These laws are indicated with alphanumeric. Sharia the Islamic Law by Abdur Rahman I. Doi. The Hedaya (commentary on the Islamic Laws) translated by Charles Hamilton. So where would you like to begin? FP: How about with marriage and sex? Kasem: Fair enough: The husband’s permission is required for a wife to work (Doi, p.117). Beating a wife is allowed (Doi, p.130). The wife must worship the husband. Unbridled freedom of modern women is not good (Doi, p.132). Muslim women can’t marry unbelievers under any circumstances (Doi, p.138). The guardian of a woman must be a male. A woman cannot be married by herself. A widow can marry by herself (Doi, p.141). Hanafi, Shafii and Maliki rate the marriage of a minor boy or a girl as lawful (Doi, p.142). A Muslim man is allowed to have four wives at one time (Hedaya, p.31; Doi, p.147). A law against polygamy is against the Qur’an. Not a single Hadith is against polygamy; modernists reject Qur’an and Sunnah. Satisfy more wives (Doi, p.152).
Prohibition on polygamy is a violation of Sharia provision. Court does not understand biological need. Follow Muhammad (59:7) (Doi, p.153).
A drop of semen is the greatest sin (Doi, p.236).
Adoption is not allowed in Sharia (Doi, p.463).
Circumcision is obligatory for both men and women (foreskin for men, prepuce of clitoris for women) (e4.3, p.59).
Wudu (ablution)—use not less than 0.51 litre of water (e5.24(1), p.66).
Ghusl (bath)—use not less than 2.03 litres of water (e5.24(2), p.66).
Make repeated love, do repeated ablution (e5.29, p.67).

To get united with the previous husband a divorced wife must marry another person, have complete sex with him and get divorced by him voluntarily (Hedaya, p.15, n7.7, p.565; p29.1, p.673).
When making love, no talking (r32.7, p.767).
No talking ….but but that can be the best part!
Unlawful for a man to look at a woman who is not his wife or one of his unmarriageable kin (m2.3, p.512).
Husband and wife cannot look at each others genitals’ (m2.4 p.513).
Unlawful for a woman to show any parts of her body to an adolescent boy or a non-Muslim woman (m2.7, p.513).
Whatever is unlawful to look is also unlawful to touch (m2.9, p.513).
A woman must not conduct her own marriage; she requires a male guardian (m3.4, p.518).
A non-Muslim man cannot be the guardian of a Muslim woman; a Muslim man cannot be the guardian of a non-Muslim woman (m3.4, p.519).
A male guardian of a virgin woman may force her to marry a man of his choice (m3.13, p.522).
Arab women cannot marry non-Arab men (because Allah has chosen the Arabs above others) (m4.2(1), p.523).
A man of lowly profession cannot marry the daughter of higher profession (m4.2(3), p.524).
Lovely …. equality
When the husband settles the dower (bride money) or defers it, a wife must immediately submit her private parts to her husband’s demand for sex, unless she has legitimate ground of not doing so; if she requests to wait the maximum waiting time is three days (m5.1, p.523).
He’d have to get it at gunpoint.
A husband has the full right to enjoy his wife’s person, from the top of her head to the bottom of her feet (m5.4, p.526).
Uh, what about the clitorisless woman? No sugar?
It is unlawful for a Muslim woman to marry a non-Muslim man (m6.7(5), p.529).
Husbands are not obliged to provide doctor’s fees, medicines and cosmetics to wives; they must provide only food, cloths and housing; rebellious wife doesn’t get anything (Hedaya, p.140; m11.4, p.544).
A Muslim man is allowed to beat his wife or wives (the Qur’an, 4:34 ; m10.12, p.541; o17.4, p.619).
If wife refuses sex, the husband is not obliged to support her until she surrenders her person to the husband (m11.9, p.545).
A divorced wife gets maintenance only for maximum three months (Hedaya, p.145, Shafii law, no support during her waiting period if pregnant, then support is on daily basis until she gives birth (m11.10 (3), p.546).
A son is obliged to finance his poor father’s marriage (m12.5, p.549).
Husband divorces wife instantly even under torture, compulsion, alcohol, narcotics and jokes; then he can marry a new set of four wives and continue the cycle (Hedaya, p.81, 253; n3.5, p.560).
The only way for a wife to get divorce is to convince the sharia court and also to pay money to her husband (Hedaya, p.112; n5.0, p.562; n7.7).
FP: How about using the bathroom?
Kasem: Visiting lavatory—cover head, cover feet, carry stones (odd number, minimum three), and say prayer (e9.1, p.76).
Entering toilet—left foot first; exiting toilet right foot first, offer prayer (e9.1, p.76).
After urinating men squeeze the penis with the left hand from base to head (of penis); women squeeze the front (vulva) between thumb and forefinger; in both cases three times (e9.1(11), p.76).
Do not defecate with front facing the sun, the moon or the sacred in Jerusalem , Kaba (e9.0(16), p.77).
When no water available do wudu, ghusl using dirt (e12.0, p.84).

Following are excerpts from an interview with Dr. Abd Al-Hamid Al-’Ubeidi, an Iraqi expert on Islamic law, which aired on Al-Rafidein TV on March 14, 2008:
Dr. Abd Al-Hamid Al-’Ubeidi: There is no minimum marriage age for either men or women in Islamic law. The law in many countries permits girls to marry only from the age of 18. This is arbitrary legislation, not Islamic law. Why? Because there might be cases in which it is impossible to keep the girl [single] until the age of maturity. For example, in Bosnia-Herzegovina, the Serbs killed many Albanian Muslims, and there are many mass graves there. [Muslim] families fled from that war, and so did small children, who were not yet at the age of marriage. But if a man takes such a girl in, he might desire her, and eventually commit a sin, even though his intentions were noble. So he can formally marry her, but without having sex with her. She will remain like that until she grows up, and then someone will ask to marry her, or he will find her a husband – this happens in many Islamic countries with girls from Bosnia-Herzegovina – and when he finds her a husband, he will divorce her, so that she can marry again. In such a case, there should be no waiting period. So there is no need for the girl to be of age. Most of the time we act according to what is acceptable to most people, and indeed, most men do not marry a girl until she is of age. In some Islamic countries, the age of maturity can be 8 or 10 years. In Yemen, a girl might get her period at the age of 8. In cold countries, such as Russia, Belarus, Scandinavia, New Zealand, Canada, and so on, a girl might not reach maturity until she is 22 years old. She might not get her period until then. Therefore, the greatness of Islamic law is manifest in the fact that marriage is not just for pleasure. True, it is the basic objective for marriage, but there are some cases that require solutions. Many criminals, the enemies of Islam, ask:
“How could the Prophet Muhammad, at 52 years of age, marry ‘Aisha when she was only 8 years old, and consummate the marriage when she was 9 years old?” I say to them: People who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones. Why do you permit your young girls to fornicate? They consider it one of their liberties. Therefore, in these stupid countries, you rarely find girls aged 10 or 12 who are still virgins. They permit this. They have even legislated laws stating that if a girl is under the age of 18, and her girlfriend [sic] or whatever has had sex with her, she has the right to have an abortion. How can you permit the outcome without accepting the cause? Why do you allow your girls to have sex and say this is an individual liberty? It is okay to fornicate with girls there or force them to have sex, and so on, and they have the right to have an abortion. If you permit all this before the age [of 18], without a marriage contract and without any legal grounds – how come you forbid marriage? Another gem:

It is offensive (makruh) to have this cotton (kursuf) inserted fully in the internal part of the vagina, because it resembles masturbation. They include stonings, honor killings, clitorectomies (female circumcisions), forced clothing (hijabs, burkas, etc.), and wife-beatings. While many Muslims have suggested that these acts are cultural rather than religious tenets of Islam, one Islamic scholar, Jamal Badawi, has written a book using the religion to justify the latter act. If he feels this way, one has to ask why so many Muslims, including female Muslims, continue to embrace him and his teachings.
This month’s edition of Southern California In Focus, a publication subsidized by the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), features an interview with Jamal Badawi, a popular speaker at many North American Muslim functions, whilst sporting a picture of him on the homepage of its website. The title of the piece is ‘Catching up with one of the world’s greatest minds.’ In it, Badawi discusses what he perceives to be the state of Islam in both the United States and Canada, where he is currently living. What is not discussed is his controversial views about the treatment of women.
Attached to the page containing the In Focus interview are images of the covers of three books Badawi has authored. One of the books,Gender Equity in Islam, is his most widely known work, mainly for its justification of the beating of wives by their husbands.
In the book, Badawi wrote, “In the event of a family dispute, the Qur’an exhorts the husband to treat his wife kindly and not to overlook her positive aspects. If the problem relates to the wife’s behavior, her husband may exhort her and appeal for reason. In most cases, this measure is likely to be sufficient. In cases where the problem continues, the husband may express his displeasure in another peaceful manner by sleeping in a separate bed from hers. There are cases, however where a wife persists in deliberate mistreatment of her husband and disregard for her marital obligations. Instead of divorce, the husband may resort to another measure that may save the marriage, at least in some cases. Such a measure is more accurately described as a gentle tap on the body…”
He then quoted directly from the Quran to exhibit the origins of his beliefs. He stated, “As to those women on whose part you fear disloyalty and ill conduct, admonish them (first), (next) refuse to share their beds (and last) beat them (lightly).” Badawi described this as a “permissible beating” and said that Islamic jurists have determined that this could be performed by means of a miswak (small toothbrush).
Badawi wrote Gender Equity in Islam under the aegis of the World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY), an organization whose leaders have called for the destruction of Israel and the United States and who was raided in May of 2002 for alleged terror-related activity. The book was published, in 1995, by American Trust Publications (ATP), a subsidiary of “unindicted co-conspirator” of the 2007 Dallas Hamas financing trial, the North American Islamic Trust (NAIT).
Indeed, Badawi has been tied to the most radical of Muslim organizations. Currently, he is a board member of CAIR-Canada and the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA). Like NAIT, both CAIR and ISNA were named as “unindicted co-conspirators” of the 2007 trial, as was Badawi himself.
Another group Badawi is associated with is Islam Online (IOL), a website that supports suicide bombings, mandates terrorist attacks against American troops, and discusses how to behead humans. Badawi is an IOL Shari’ah (Islamic law) Scholar and has written fatwas (legal decisions) on a number of issues for the site.
In one fatwa, ‘Wife Beating in Islamic Perspective,’ dated April of 2004, Badawi repeated nearly word for word what he stated in his book. But instead of referring to the abuse as a “permissible beating,” he called it a “permissible striking” and a “light striking.”
With respect to polygamy, another form of spousal abuse, in the May 2005 IOL fatwa, ‘Having a Second Wife in Western Countries,’ Badawi wrote, “[W]hy would a particular person want to have a second wife, even though it might be acceptable or legitimate under the Islamic Shari’ah? Because there is also a spirit of why polygamy has been permitted even though it has not been codified in the Qur’an… If the Western world reciprocated to Muslims in the West the same kind of tolerance and acceptance of autonomy in issues pertinent to religious practice, including marriage, I think polygamy would be quite legitimate, and there would be no contradiction between what is permissible under the Islamic Shari’ah and what is permissible under the Western laws.”
Badawi also has his own radio show hosted on IslamiCity, a website that repeatedly calls for the murder of Jews and repeatedly “curses” Jews and Christians.
On one of his shows, titled ‘Marital Relations V (Husband’s Rights),’ he cited the “Prophet Muhammad,” saying that husbands have “claims” on their wives, as if they were property, and that one of the “basic criteria” for wives to be eligible to reach “paradise” (Heaven) is that they must “obey” their husbands. He labeled Muhammad’s statement, “If I were to command any human being to prostrate [bow] before any other human being, I would have ordered the wife to prostrate before her husband, because of his claim on her,” a “Prophetic saying.”
And on his IslamiCity show, titled ‘Marital Problems,’ with examples from his religious texts, he went into detail about how a husband should come to beat his wife. He stated the following:
“[In] case of persistent defiance and lack of cooperation on the part of the wife, in a way that threatens the integrity of the family, there is a measure to be taken, what you might call a phased discipline that could be implemented.
“The first one that the verse mentions is kind exhortation… The husband could go to her, could appeal to his intimate relationship with her, appeal to love and affection. He may appeal to the fear of G-d and, being G-d conscious, remind her of her duty, as Islam prescribes, and the need to protect her future and the future of the family… to respond to reasonable requests and reasonable exhortation on the part of her husband.

The idea behind it is to try to bring that haughtiness – being haughty, rebellious, inconsiderate, unreasonable – to bring this down to a reasonable level by showing that… one cannot accept this kind of relationship or treatment…
“Now, again, if this doesn’t work, which would be in [a] lesser number of cases, what to do? Divorce? If the first and second step does not work, well, there is one more thing, which may be resorted to as a last resort, just within the private relationship between husband and wife, before divorce, to avert the possibility of divorce. It need not be useful in all cases, but in some cases it may be, and that is a light and symbolical chastisement…
“It’s not just because somebody got angry or had a bad day or anything of that sort. It really deals with a situation of serious infraction, serious breaking of orders and discipline within the family. Like some jurists indicated that some of the cases of rebellion would be like a wife who just leaves her husband’s house and stays in some other place, refuses to respond to any request or reasonable or fair demand on his part…
“[C]hastisement should be such that it can never lead to injury or even leave a mark on the body… [A] great companion of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, Ibn Abbas… he said, “What chastisement with what?” He was himself wondering… it has to be very light, should not leave a mark, and even in that case what could be used? He said a miswak… something like a toothbrush. Imagine chastising with a toothbrush… [A] slight thing like that might lead the wife to throw herself in her husband’s arm and cry, and that might mend the situation rather than going through a drastic action like divorce.”
For Southern California In Focus to refer to Jamal Badawi as “one of the world’s greatest minds” is to ignore the violence that Badawi defends and rationalizes. And given the fact that the Board President and former Managing Editor of In Focus is Asma Ahmad, a woman, is doubly troubling. No doubt, Muslim women across the globe are suffering, because of what Badawi and his ilk have used their religion to write and say.
The lead story for this month’s In Focus is ‘A Few Good Men: American Muslim women bemoan lack of ‘good’ male suitors.’ Pictured on the cover is a sad girl in a wedding dress. It’s no wonder Muslim women are finding it hard to locate good men, when people like Badawi and his supporters exist only to ruin their lives.

Man cuts off wife’s foot for ‘cheating on him’
LAHORE: A man in Multan cut off his wife’s foot on the suspicion that she had an affair with another man, Express News reported on Thursday. According to the channel, the police said that Nasir had told his wife not to visit their neighbours, but she persisted with the visits, which led to a dispute between the couple. Abd Al-Majid Al-Zindani: “Allah said, with regard to women bearing witness: ‘If two men are not available, then a man and two women, such as you choose as witnesses, so that if one of them errs, the other can remind her.’ Some heretics – communists and other atheists – ridiculed [this verse], saying: How come a man’s testimony equals that of two women? They used this to mock [the Muslims].
“The Muslims used to respond that women are subject to menstruation, when their endurance and mental capacity for concentration are diminished. When a woman witnesses a killing or an accident, she becomes frightened, moves away, and sometimes even faints, and she cannot even watch the incident. [...]
“The American Time magazine, in its July 31, 1995 issue, published this picture from research about the brain functioning of men and women. This is the ma… This is the female brain, and this is an image of the male brain. What do we see? We find that in the case of women, this area… And there is another here…
“Two areas in a woman’s brain are activated when she talks. As we can see, there are many centers of speech in a woman’s brain. There is a center in each lobe, while in the case of a man, there is only one center, here. The opposite center does not operate during speech, because it is busy remembering.”

“Both men and women have centers for speech and for memory. In the case of men, the center for speech is here, while the center for memory is here. When a man talks, his center for speech is active, and when he remembers something, his center for memory is active. On the other hand, when a woman wants to talk, she puts both centers into action. This may give us an explanation why women are more talkative.
“What is the outcome of this? When a woman talks, she uses the part of the brain that contains the memory, because in the case of women, both centers function for speech and memory. So when a woman talks, she might use the part of the brain containing the memory for talking – and that’s it, the data is lost.
“Therefore, if we need the testimony of women in cases pertaining to human lives, property, honor, or the stability of justice, we must take into consideration this fact of life in the nature of women.
Raymond Ibrahim: Are slave-girls in Islam equivalent to animals?
Many are now aware that the Koran—that is, Allah’s word—permits, not just polygamy, but forced concubinage (sex with captive women), according to Koran 4:3: “Marry such women as seem good to you, two and three and four; but if you fear that you will not do justice, then only one, or what your right hands possess [captive women taken in war].” There is, however, an interesting, and very telling, linguistic aspect to this verse that is often overlooked—or intentionally obscured. The Arabic states: “Ankahu [marry]…ma [what] malakat [possess] aymankum [your right hands].”
Oddly enough, the Arabic reflexive pronoun used to indicate these captive women is “ma”: ma malakat aymankum, literally, “what your right hands possess” (see Shakir’s acclaimed English translation which most literally translates this). In Arabic, when one refers to a rational being (i.e., a human), the word used is min, which means “who(ever)”; ma, on the other hand, refers only to things or animals—trees, rocks, dogs and cats—very much similar to the English “it.” Thus, in proper Arabic the phrase might have been min malakat aymankum: “who(ever) your rights hands possess.”
For long I assumed this was but a stylistic matter. However, the highly revered Islamic scholar al-Qurtubi (d.1273) also makes this observation in vol. 5, p.12 of his authoritative 20-volumeTafsir Al Koran (Exegesis of the Koran). He points out that members of the human race should be referred to with min (who), whereas only “inanimate objects” or “brute beasts” should be referred to with ma (what).
Does this suggest that the Koran’s Arabic—touted as the most perfect Arabic—is flawed? Of course, no Muslim would allow for that. Nor need they, as this phenomenon (portraying concubines as non-human) accords well with a number of hadiths that place females and animals in the same category. Musnad Ibn Hanbal (vol. 2, p. 2992), for example, records Muhammad saying “Women, dogs, and donkeys annul a man’s prayer.” Indeed, in Qurtubi’s same Tafsir (vol.15, p.172), after examining such hadiths, he writes, “A Woman may be likened to a sheep—even a cow or a camel—for all are ridden.”
Muslims often lie about the misdeeds of their marauding prophet Muhammad. Especially about wife-beating. Here is Robert Spencer refuting one such liar with the relevant hadith:
I am sorry, you are mistken about that. Mohammad never struck anyone in anger, not his wife, not his servant, no one.
Here is the relevant hadith. The commenter above didn’t say anything about Muhammad striking Aisha “in anger.” He just said that he struck her. I suppose that will be Abdullah’s loophole.
Muhammad b. Qais said (to the people): Should I not narrate to you (a hadith of the Holy Prophet) on my authority and on the authority of my mother? We thought that he meant the mother who had given him birth. He (Muhammad b. Qais) then reported that it was ‘A’isha who had narrated this: Should I not narrate to you about myself and about the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him)? We said: Yes. She said: When it was my turn for Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) to spend the night with me, he turned his side, put on his mantle and took off his shoes and placed them near his feet, and spread the corner of his shawl on his bed and then lay down till he thought that I had gone to sleep. He took hold of his mantle slowly and put on the shoes slowly, and opened the door and went out and then closed it lightly. I covered my head, put on my veil and tightened my waist wrapper, and then went out following his steps till he reached Baqi’. He stood there and he stood for a long time. He then lifted his hands three times, and then returned and I also returned. He hastened his steps and I also hastened my steps. He ran and I too ran. He came (to the house) and I also came (to the house). I, however, preceded him and I entered (the house), and as I lay down in the bed, he (the Holy Prophet) entered the (house), and said: Why is it, O ‘A’isha, that you are out of breath? I said: There is nothing. He said: Tell me or the Subtle and the Aware would inform me. I said: Messenger of Allah, may my father and mother be ransom for you, and then I told him (the whole story). He said: Was it the darkness (of your shadow) that I saw in front of me? I said: Yes. He struck me on the chest which caused me pain, and then said: Did you think that Allah and His Apostle would deal unjustly with you? She said: Whatsoever the people conceal, Allah will know it. He said: Gabriel came to me when you saw me. He called me and he concealed it from you. I responded to his call, but I too concealed it from you (for he did not come to you), as you were not fully dressed. I thought that you had gone to sleep, and I did not like to awaken you, fearing that you may be frightened. He (Gabriel) said: Your Lord has commanded you to go to the inhabitants of Baqi’ (to those lying in the graves) and beg pardon for them. I said: Messenger of Allah, how should I pray for them (How should I beg forgiveness for them)? He said: Say, Peace be upon the inhabitants of this city (graveyard) from among the Believers and the Muslims, and may Allah have mercy on those who have gone ahead of us, and those who come later on, and we shall, God willing, join you.

Narrated Aisha, Ummul Mu’minin:
The Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) married me when I was seven or six. When we came to Medina, some women came. according to Bishr’s version: Umm Ruman came to me when I was swinging. They took me, made me prepared and decorated me. I was then brought to the Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him), and he took up cohabitation with me when I was nine. She halted me at the door, and I burst into laughter.
In the above hadith we read that Ayesha was swinging, This is a play of little girls not grown up people. The following Hadith is particularly interesting because it shows that Ayesha was so small that was not aware what was going on when the Holy Prophet “surprised” her by going to her.

When the Prophet married me, my mother came to me and made me enter the house (of the Prophet) and nothing surprised me but the coming of Allah’s Apostle to me in the forenoon.

I’m sorry “moderate Muslims”, you cannot live in the modern world and claim it’s OK. 40 % of Turkish Women Abused, Beaten
ANKARA, FEBRUARY 12 – Four out of ten Turkish women are victims of physical abuse by their husbands and only a fraction report it to authorities, according to an official survey released today and published by daily Hurriyet website. The poll, conducted among 12,795 women in summer of 2008, found that 39% of those were “slapped, pushed, punched, choked, burnt or threatened or attacked with a weapon such as a knife or gun”. Fifteen percent said they were victims of sexual abuse, described by the survey as being physically forced to have sex, having sex out of fear or being forced to engage in degrading or humiliating sexual acts. One in four women was injured as a result of physical or sexual violence. The poll, released by the governments office on the status of women, said that 48.5% of the victims did not tell anyone about the abuse while only 4% sought help from police and a mere one percent sought refuge in state-run shelters. That’s funny. I thought only “Islamophobes” said that things like that had anything to do with Islam.
Violence against women is justified in Sharia in numerous ways, as I explain here. Sharia also contains an expansionist imperative to subjugate non-believers under the rule of Islamic law — see, for example,here and here. Thus part of what Islamic jihadists want to bring to the West is this violence against women.

Wife beating: Muslims, both men and women, lie and deny everything about it!
In “some interpretations”, the Quran allows husbands to punish “disobedient” women, Shahram said, adding that this is a minority view.
This is a false statement. This is not a minority view. Qur’an 4:34 tells men to beat their disobedient wives after first warning them and then sending them to sleep in separate beds. It is worth noting how several translators render the key part of this verse, وَاضْرِبُوهُنَّ, waidriboohunna.
Pickthall: “and scourge them”
Yusuf Ali: “(And last) beat them (lightly)”
Al-Hilali/Khan: “(and last) beat them (lightly, if it is useful)”
Shakir: “and beat them”
Sher Ali: “and chastise them”
Khalifa: “then you may (as a last alternative) beat them”
Arberry: “and beat them”
Rodwell: “and scourge them”

Daryabadi: “and beat them”
Asad: “then beat them”
Pickthall, Yusuf Ali, Al-Hilali/Khan, Shakir, Sher Ali, Khalifa, Daryabadi and Asad are Muslims. Are their translations all incorrect? These are mainstream Muslim translations of the Qur’an, and we are supposed to believe that the idea that the Qur’an tells men to beat disobedient women is a “minority view”?
This is the kind of obfuscation that will only perpetuate this abuse. It can only be ended by confronting it, and speaking honestly about its causes.

Gafar Kirimov paid 2,000 GBP to gangsters who shot her dead as she left her medical college at St Petersburg, Russia, because she’d turned down his demand to wear traditional black robes.
Daughter Rashida has been astonished when her dad told her to stop wearing short skirts, tight tops and make-up.
“Dad, we live in St. Petersburg, how could I wear those black clothes?” she is said to have asked him.
After telling police his daughter had gone missing, guilt-racked Kirimov, 46, admitted he had plotted to have her murdered because of the modern way she dressed.
As Muslim women suffer, feminists avert their gaze

Polygamy in the Islamic Paradise
The popular tradition among Muslims — could it be called an urban legend? — is that a shahid (martyr) who dies waging jihad is granted seventy-two virgins in Paradise. Not only may he have his way with the young heavenly beauties, but every day Allah magically restores their virginity so that he can start all over again. There’s no need to respect them in the morning.
However, this deal is for men only. The tradition does not promise that a woman who dies in the way of Allah will be granted even one gorgeous hunk of her very own when she attains Paradise.
So what’s in it for Muslim women? What reward in paradise awaits the devoted Muslima if she dies for her faith?
That very question was posed in the “Ask the Scholar” feature at Islam Online. In the chapter “What Is for Women?”, a Muslim woman asks:
My question is, how is it possible that Allah Almighty will grant the fulfillment of the desires of the male but not of the female — that is, to not share her husband with multiple women?
Instead of her desire/wish being fulfilled, she will be brainwashed, but on the other hand men won’t have to give up anything.
A male martyr will receive 70 wives, but if a female servant of Allah dies for Jihad, she will still be required to share her husband with other wives.
I personally feel like crying …
… [T]he issue of polygamy, be it in this life or the hereafter, it should not be classified as a privilege but rather a solution [to avoid the haram] as you correctly mentioned in your arguments.
In other words, Islam does not open the door of polygamy for all men as it does not open it to women at all. As you may know well that each ruling or law has an exception and the exception is not the principle, therefore, we can not judge a law through its exceptions.
In this regard, I shall remind you that rewarding a mujahid with many wives doesn’t mean betraying the female mujahid.
This means that those women who don’t want their husbands to have more [wives] could be granted this wish and desire. At the same time if the husbands of those women want to have more than them Allah is great and can satisfy each of them in the way He, the Almighty, wants.
Therefore, a woman should not be frustrated for a privilege of polygamy offered to men. This is not, for sure, at the expense of woman. Heaven is meant for both men and women, both of them are equally entitled to get what they wish for.
But to prevent the Muslim woman from becoming an apostate on the spot instead of a useful mujahid, Prof. Moustapha continues:

In other words: there is nothing in it for women in the Islamic paradise (Jannah).

The X-RATED PARADISE OF ISLAM:
In this article is described the Islamic Paradise or Jannat which was invented by Prophet Mohammed to bribe the Arabs into committing hideous crimes by promising them materialistic things which they couldn’t obtain in the harsh desert. The paradise contains six important items: beautiful virgins, young boys, water, wine, fruits and wealth.
To prove the point quotations have taken from the Koran and from the Haddiths.
Mohammed knew that sex would sell very well among the group of his lecherous followers who were motivated to fight battles by the promise of sex slaves and booty. By constantly emphasizing to his followers that they would get untouched virgins in Paradise, Mohammed is clearly expressing his “high” opinion of the institution of marriage and his fairness to women. Once the followers go to heaven, they can conveniently ditch their wives for the fresher and more pleasurable sexual encounters with ‘Houris’ (beautiful virgins). Not only that, the poor wives who gave up their virginity for the pleasure of their husbands do not get even one Male Sex Bomb. But wait, Allah is all merciful! He gives the wives the rare honour of watching their husbands deflower those 72 Houris (virgins) and 28 young pre-pubescent boys.
OR: are the Houris for men and the Boys for women?
The relevant verses from the Koran are:
As for the righteous, they shall surely triumph. Theirs shall be gardens and vineyards, and high- bosomed virgins for companions: a truly overflowing cup.
…They will sit with bashful, dark-eyed virgins, as chaste as the sheltered eggs of ostriches.
…Yes and We shall wed them to dark-eyed houris. (beautiful virgins)
…They shall recline on couches ranged in rows. To dark-eyed houris (virgins) we shall wed them…
In them will be bashful virgins neither man nor Jinn will have touched before.Then which of the favours of your Lord will you deny ?”
Virgins as fair as corals and rubies. Then which of the favours of your Lord will you deny ?”
…We created the houris (the beautiful women) and made them virgins, loving companions for those on the right hand.. ”
“In each there shall be virgins chaste and fair… Dark eyed virgins sheltered in their tents whom neither man nor Jin will have touched before..
In the Haddiths, Mohammed goes one step further and expands the promise of virgins to include a free sex market where there is no limit of the number of sexual partners. Women and young boys are on display as if in a fruit market where you can choose the desired ripeness.

Ali reported that the Apostle of Allah said, “There is in Paradise a market wherein there will be no buying or selling, but will consist of men and women. When a man desires a beauty, he will have intercourse with them.”

Homosexuality was and is widely practised in Islamic countries. To please the homosexuals among his followers he promised them pre-pubescent boys in Paradise. So after committing plunder, loot, rape and murder in this life, the followers of Islam get “rewarded” by untouched virginal youths who are fresh like pearls.
OR: are these boys for the pleasures of women as reward and to be equal to men in what rewards they have in Paradise?
The relevant verses from the Koran are:
Round about them will serve, to them, boys (handsome) as pearls well-guarded.
Round about them will serve boys of perpetual freshness.
And round about them will serve boys of perpetual freshness: if thou seest them, thou wouldst think them scattered pearls.
This way the Muslim Paradise will show that there is equality between men and women in the afterlife.
Christian women in Lebanon ought to have advocates to defend them. Muslim women ought to as well, but it is more difficult for them because of the divine sanction given to wife-beating (Koran 4:34).

(ANSAmed) – BEIRUT, NOVEMBER 25 – At least 90% of women in Lebanon are, or have been in the past, victim of physical or psychological abuse. This statement was made on the occasion of the tenth international day for the elimination of violence against women, by the Lebanese Council to Resist Violence Against Women (LCRVAW). “Only very few of these crimes are reported, because in Lebanon it is considered normal that a woman is beaten by her husband or a relative; therefore judges and policemen often underestimate the problem” said to ANSA Raghida Ghamlush, head of the LCRVAW office in Beirut. Despite the election of a woman as finance minister, “the situation in Lebanon” Ghamlush continued “is not good: the crime of domestic violence is not provided for in the penal code”. For the Lebanese law, cases of maltreatment and abuse are part of family law, and are therefore handled directly by the confessional communities. “Only if injuries are reported by a doctor” the NGO leader said, “they can take legal action, but the chances of success are slim”. Even worse, according to Dalal Chehade, head of the Lebanese NGO Najdeh, is the situation of women in the Lebanese refugee camps. “They are discriminated twice as much because they are refugees and because they are women”, he told ANSA. Considered foreigners by the Lebanese Sate, “in case of abuse, before reporting their aggressor they must turn to the peoplés committee that handles these reports with the Lebanese authorities. This obstacle is sufficiently high for most crimes to remain unpunished”, he concluded. (ANSAmed).

Does Islam regard men and women as equal?
This word – equality – which many thinkers in both the east and the west advocate in various fields of life is a word which is based on deviation and a lack of understanding, especially when the speaker attributes this idea of equality to the Qur’aan and to Islam.
One of the things that people misunderstand is when they say that “Islam is the religion of equality”. What they should say is that Islam is the religion of justice.
Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:
“Here we should note that there are some people who speak of equality instead of justice, and this is a mistake. We should not say equality, because equality implies no differentiation between the two. Because of this unjust call for equality, they started to ask, what is the difference between male and female?’ So they made males and females the same, and then the communists said, ‘What difference is there between ruler and subject? No one has any authority over anyone else, not even fathers and sons; the father has no authority over his son,’ and so on.
But if we say justice, which means giving each one that to which he or she is entitled, this misunderstanding no longer applies, and the word used is correct. Hence it does not say in the Qur’aan that Allaah enjoins equality, rather it says (interpretation of the meaning):
“Verily, Allaah enjoins Al‑‘Adl (i.e. justice)”
“and that when you judge between men, you judge with justice”
Those who say that Islam is the religion of equality are lying against Islam. Rather Islam is the religion of justice which means treating equally those who are equal and differentiating between those who are different.
No one who knows the religion of Islam would say that it is the religion of equality. Rather what shows you that this principle is false is the fact that most of what is mentioned in the Qur’aan denies equality, as in the following verses:
‘Say: Are those who know equal to those who know not?”
‘Say: Is the blind equal to the one who sees? Or darkness equal to light?’
‘Not equal among you are those who spent and fought before the conquering (of Makkah, with those among you who did so later’
‘Not equal are those of the believers who sit (at home), except those who are disabled (by injury or are blind or lame), and those who strive hard and fight in the Cause of Allaah with their wealth and their live’
Not one single letter in the Qur’aan enjoins equality, rather it enjoins justice. You will also find that the word justice is acceptable to people, for I feel that if I am better than this man in terms of knowledge, or wealth, or piety, or in doing good, I would not like for him to be equal to me.
Every man knows that he find it unacceptable if we say that the male is equal to the female.”

Based on this, Islam does not regard men and women as equal in matters where regarding them as equal would result in injustice to one of them, because equality that is inappropriate is a severe form of injustice.
The Qur’aan commands women to wear clothes that are different from those worn by men, because of the differences in the ways each sex is tempted by the other. The temptation posed by men is less than the temptation posed by women, so the clothes that women should wear are different than the clothes that men wear. It makes no sense to tell women to expose the parts of the body that men are allowed to expose, because of the differences in the temptation posed by a woman’s body and a man’s body – as we shall explain.
There are matters in which men and women are treated differently in Islamic sharee’ah, such as:
1 – Qiwaamah (being in charge of the household)
Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allaah has made one of them to excel the other, and because they spend (to support them) from their means”
Ibn Katheer (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:
“Allaah says ‘Men are the protectors and maintainers of women’ meaning that the man is in charge of the woman, i.e., he is the leader and head of the household, the one who disciplines her if she goes astray.
‘because Allaah has made one of them to excel the other’ i.e., because men are superior to women and are better than women. Hence Prophethood was given only to men, as was the position of khaleefah, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, ‘No people shall ever prosper who appoint a woman as their ruler.’ This was narrated by al-Bukhaari from the hadeeth of ‘Abd al-Rahmaan ibn Abi Bakrah from his father. The same applies to the position of qaadi (judge), etc.
‘and because they spend (to support them) from their means’ refers to the mahr and the spending on women’s maintenance that Allaah has enjoined upon men in His Book and in the Sunnah of His Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). So a man is inherently better than a woman, and he is superior to her because he spends on her. So it is appropriate that he should be in charge of her, as Allaah says, ‘but men have a degree (of responsibility) over them’ [al-Baqarah 2:228].
‘Ali ibn Abi Talhah said, narrating from Ibn ‘Abbaas: ‘Men are the protectors and maintainers of women’ means that men are the leaders of women and they should obey them in areas where Allaah has enjoined obedience. Obedience may mean treating his family kindly and protecting his wealth.”

2 – Testimony or bearing witness. The Qur’aan states that the testimony of one man is equivalent to the testimony of two women.
Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“And get two witnesses out of your own men. And if there are not two men (available), then a man and two women, such as you agree for witnesses, so that if one of them (two women) errs, the other can remind her”
Ibn Katheer said:
Two women are to take the place of one man because women are lacking in reason, as Muslim narrated in his Saheeh… from Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “O women, give in charity and seek forgiveness a great deal, for I have seen that you form the majority of the people of Hell.” A wise woman among them said, “Why is it, O Messenger of Allaah, that we are the majority of the people of Hell?” He said, “Because you curse too much, and you are ungrateful to your spouses. I have seen none lacking in common sense and failing in religion but (at the same time) robbing the wisdom of the wise, besides you.” The woman asked: “O Messenger of Allaah, what is wrong with our common sense and our religion?” He said: “Your lack of common sense (can be well judged from the fact) that the evidence of two women is equal to that of one man, that is a proof of the lack of common sense, and you spend some nights (and days) in which you do not offer prayer and in the month of Ramadan (during the days) you do not observe fast, that is a failing in religion.”

There may be some women who are wiser than some men, but this is not the usual rule and such women are not in the majority. Sharee’ah is based on what is general and most common.
The fact that women are lacking in reason does not mean that they are crazy, rather their reason is often overtaken by their emotions, and this happens to women more often than it happens to men. No one would deny this except one who is arrogant.
3 – A woman inherits half of what a man inherits.
Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“Allaah commands you as regards your children’s (inheritance): to the male, a portion equal to that of two females”
Because Allaah knows better than they do what is in their best interests, He made the division of inheritance based on differentiation, because He knows what is in their best interests.
Tafseer al-Qurtubi, 5/164
For example, a man is obliged to spend more than a woman, so it is appropriate that he should have a larger share of inheritance than a woman.
4 – Clothing:
A woman’s ‘awrah includes her entire body. The least that can be said is that she should not uncover anything except her face and hands, and it was said that she should not even uncover that.
Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“O Prophet! Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks (veils) all over their bodies (i.e. screen themselves completely except the eyes or one eye to see the way). That will be better, that they should be known (as free respectable women) so as not to be annoyed. And Allaah is Ever Oft‑Forgiving, Most Merciful”
The ‘awrah of a man is the area from the navel to the knees.
It was said to ‘Abd-Allaah ibn Ja’far ibn Abi Taalib, “Tell us what you heard from the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and what you saw of him, and do not tell us about anyone else, even if he was trustworthy.” He said, “I heard the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say, ‘The area between the navel and the knee is ‘awrah.’”
Narrated by al-Haakim in al-Mustadrak (6418); classed as hasan by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami’, 5583.
Other examples include the following, which is not a comprehensive list.
There are other differences between the sexes, including the following:
· A man can marry four women, but a woman can only have one husband.
· A man has the right to issue a divorce and it is valid if he does so, but a woman does not have the right to issue a divorce.
· A man may marry a woman from among the People of the Book (Jews and Christians), but a Muslim woman may not marry anyone but a Muslim.
· A man may travel without his wife or any of his mahrams, but a woman may not travel unless she is accompanied by a mahram.
· Prayer in the mosque is obligatory for men, but not for women; a woman’s prayer in her house is more beloved to Allaah.
· A woman may wear silk and gold, but a man must not wear them.
Everything that we have mentioned is based on the difference between men and women, because the male is not like the female. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“And the male is not like the female”
[Aal ‘Imraan 3:36]
The male is different from the female in many ways, in his strength, in his body, in his toughness and roughness, whereas women are soft and gentle.
And men are different in intellectual terms, for men are known for their strength of understanding and their memory as compared to women. Women are weaker than men in memory and forget more than men do. This is well known, for most of the reputable scholars in the world are men. There are some women who are more intelligent and have better memories than some men, but this does not cancel out the general rule. Most cases are as we have described above.
With regard to emotions, men speak of them when they get angry or when they are happy, but women are affected by the slightest emotional effects, so their tears flow at the slightest emotional provocation.
Jihad is obligatory for men, but jihad in the sense of fighting is not obligatory for women. This is the mercy of Allaah towards them, and consideration for their nature.
In conclusion we may say that the rulings for men are not like the rulings for women.
Islam regards men and women as equally obliged with regard to many acts of worship and interactions with others. For example, women do wudoo’ just as men do, they do ghusl as men do, they pray as men do, and they fast as men do, except when they are menstruating or bleeding following childbirth. Women pay zakaah as men pay zakaah, and they do Hajj as men do, except for a few differences in the rulings. It is permissible and acceptable to buy from a woman, and if a woman gives charity, that is permissible. It is permissible for a woman to set free the slaves that she owns, and there are many other similar cases because women are the twin halves of men, as it says in the hadeeth:
It was narrated that ‘Aa’ishah said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was asked about a man who finds some wetness (on his clothes) but did not have an erotic dream, and he said, “He should do ghusl.” He was asked about a man who had an erotic dream but did not find any wetness, and he said, “He does not have to do ghusl.” Umm Salamah said, “O Messenger of Allaah, if a woman sees that, does she have to do ghusl?” He said, “Yes, for women are the twin halves of men.”
(Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 113; Ahmad, 25663. Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Tirmidhi, 98)
Women are like men in some aspects and they differ from them in others. Most of the rulings of Islam apply to men and women equally. In cases where a distinction is made between the sexes, the Muslim regards that as a mercy from Allaah and a sign of His knowledge of His creation, but the arrogant kaafir sees it as oppression and injustice, so he stubbornly insists on claiming that men and women are the same. So let him tell us how a man can carry a foetus and breastfeed it? He stubbornly ignores the weakness of women and how they bleed during their monthly period, and he stubbornly beat his head against the rock of reality. But the Muslim is still at peace with his faith, surrendering to the command of Allaah.
“Should not He Who has created know? And He is the Most Kind and Courteous (to His slaves), All‑Aware (of everything)”

The Prophet said, “If you enter (your town) at night (after coming from a journey), do not enter upon your family till the woman whose husband was absent (from the house) shaves her pubic hair and the woman with unkempt hair, combs her hair” Allah’s Apostle further said, “(O Jabir!) Seek to have offspring, seek to have offspring!”

Allah’s Apostle said, “Five practices are characteristics of the Fitra: circumcision, shaving the pubic region, clipping the nails and cutting the moustaches short.”
One may wonder why Allah is so free to look into what a human possess between his/her two thighs. We always thought Allah has more important affairs to attend to!
And Allaah knows best.
The Afghan noblemen maintain the strictest parda, or seclusion, of their women, who pass their days monotonously behind the curtains and lattices of their palace prison-houses, with little to do except criticize their clothes and jewels and retail slander; …The poorer classes cannot afford to seclude their women, so they try to safeguard their virtue by the most barbarous punishments, not only for actual immorality, but for any fancied breach of decorum. A certain trans-frontier chief that I know, on coming to his house unexpectedly one day, saw his wife speaking to a neighbour over the wall of his compound. Drawing his sword in a fit of jealousy, he struck off her head and threw it over the wall, and said to the man: “There! you are so enamoured of her, you can have her.” The man concerned discreetly moved house to a neighbouring village….The recognized punishment in such a case of undue familiarity would have been to have cut off the nose of the woman and, if possible, of the man too. This chief, in his anger, exceeded his right, and if he had been a lesser man and the woman had had powerful relations, he might have been brought to regret it. But as a rule a woman has no redress; she is the man’s property, and a man can do what he likes with his own. This is the general feeling, and no one would take the trouble or run the risk of interfering in another man’s domestic arrangements. A man practically buys his wife, bargaining with her father, or, if he is dead, with her brother; and so she becomes his property, and the father has little power of interfering for her protection afterwards, seeing he has received her price.
…The two greatest social evils from which the Afghan women suffer are the purchase of wives and the facility of divorce. I might add a third—namely, plurality of wives; but though admittedly an evil where it exists, it is not universally prevalent, like the other two—in fact, only men who are well-to-do can afford to have more than one wife.
Consistent with Tocqueville’s learned approach to understanding Islam—based upon actually studying the creed’s foundational texts, and living history of jihad—Major Stephen Coughlin, a trained lawyer, and the Pentagon’s only expert on Islamic Law, wrote a magisterial 333 pp. thesis on the contemporary jihadist enemy’s threat doctrine. Coughlin concluded his analysis, published in July, 2007, with this warning—and challenge—to the advocates of COIN:
Islam is not just a religion but a way of life. As a way of life for all Muslims at both the individual and community level, [they] are bound by Islamic law. Islamic law understands jihad exclusively as warfare to establish the religion. In the doctrinal trenches of jihad, while Current Approach advocates and the national security community consistently message adoctrinal notions of Islam and jihad, the “extremists” will always be able to counter with the requirements of jihad that are grounded in Sacred Islamic law emanating directly from Allah and His Prophet.
