Congress about to limit political speech of bloggers?

Uncovered Audio: Obama’s Regulatory Czar Pushes Plan for Legally Controlling Information

Disturbing audio has emerged of White House information czar Cass Sunstein, who in a previous white paper called for banning “conspiracy theories,” demanding that websites be mandated by law to link to opposing information or that pop ups containing government propaganda be forcibly included on political blogs.

In an audio excerpt of an interview, Sunstein discusses how conservative websites should provide links to liberal websites and vice versa or even how political blogs should be made to include pop ups that show “a quick argument for a competing view”.

Sunstein said that if this system couldn’t be implemented voluntarily, “Congress should hold hearings about mandates,” which would legally force people to dilute their own free speech. The Harvard Professor also said that blogs should be forced to list a random draw of 25 popular websites, such as CNN.com. VisiontoAmerica

Kagan and Rationing of Speech

Ms. Kagan’s First Amendment work repeatedly promotes the idea that speech rights are granted by government rather than inherent in the God-given nature of man.

So, I guess that speech can be free, and free from political correctness, when it is contemplative, philosophical, and oh-so-academic; but when there is actual politics involved, The State has every right to control such discourse.

BERLIN – A synagogue in the city of Worms, in Rhineland-Palatinate state, was attacked by arsonists on Monday.

The vandals left a note linking their torching of the synagogue with the Israel-Palestinian conflict, the regional paper *Wiesbadener Kurier reported. German police found eight copies of a note written in “awkward” German, claiming responsibility for the blaze.

“So long as you do not give the Palestinians peace, we are not going to give you peace,” read the note.

In a column titled “The Muslims Are Coming!” in the Saudi Arab News daily, Aijaz Zaka Syed, a Dubai-based journalist and commentator, wrote that “no matter what Europeans think of Muslims and other recent arrivals, the continent badly needs new blood and ideas.” He adds that “Europe’s past is catching up with its present and future.”

Its all our fault, you see…? WTF did I hear that before?

Europe needs new blood? Sure thing. Who will pay our pensions if not the Muslims? Trouble is, there is nothing in the Koran that says Muslims should pay the pensions of the  kafirs. Oh well, perhaps all we need more interfaith dialogue, or  a little kumbaya…?

“In the past couple of years, there has been a flood of books howling about the coming ‘specter of Islam’ which they claim will change Europe into an Islamic caliphate.  Some of them even suggest the solution: Keep Muslims out of Europe – at any cost!

“U.S. conservative pundit Christopher Caldwell in his ‘Reflections on the Revolution in Europe: Can Europe be the Same with Different People In It?’ likens the Muslim threat to Europe to the situation in Russia on the eve of the 1917 Bolshevik Revolution. ‘If anything, there were probably fewer Bolsheviks in Russia in 1917 than there are Islamists in Europe today,’ Caldwell writes, warning Europe against losing out to Muslims in what he terms ‘a clash of civilizations.’

“What is truly alarming is the fact that this toxic, anti-Muslim vitriol is not just the brew offered by the neocon and white supremacist fruitcakes anymore, but is fast becoming the view and discourse of the mainstream on both sides of the Atlantic.

“But no matter what wonks like Mark Steyn, Christopher Caldwell, and Bruce Bawer, whose new book ‘Surrender: Appeasing Islam, Sacrificing Freedom’ has been recommended by The New York Times as the essential ‘wake-up call’ for the West, might like to do with Europe’s 53 million Muslims, or those of the United States, they aren’t going to go away anytime soon.

“In fact, in years to come they could only grow in numbers, coming as they do in droves from around the world from the impoverished parts of Asia, Africa and the Middle East.

Michigan director of Hamas-linked CAIR says Islamic terrorism has nothing to do with Islam

Hate and Terror Awarded: On September 27, 2007, the head of the Michigan office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Michigan), Dawud Walid, was presented with a “special recognition” award by the Mayor of Lansing, Michigan, Virg Bernero. This took place only two months after Walid publicly defended two terror-related charities and during a federal trial against leaders of another terror charity, for which CAIR was named a co-conspirator.

Move along, nothing to see here. When a spokesman for a group that is linked to Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood, and that has had several of its officials convicted of various jihad terror-related offenses, tells us where not to look in order to understand the motives and goals of the terrorists, that ought to be a tipoff that there is something there they don’t want us to see. But the mainstream media and law enforcement officials have still by and large not caught on to the CAIR agenda.

In the year since  Obama’s pledge for a “new beginning” with the Islamic world, Muslims in America have,1) Plotted to set off a car bomb in  Illinois, 2) Plotted to blow up a skyscraper in Dallas, 3) Attempted to detonate an airplane over Detroit, 4) Murdered an army recruiter in Arkansas,  5) Planted a car bomb in Times Square, and 6) Massacred thirteen people in Texas. Somehow he totally Misunderstood the Religion of Peaceâ„¢, even while insisting on correct obedience to the Book of Peace. How odd! Maybe Honest Ibe Hooper will clear it all up for us before we get too many more Misunderstanders of Islam like this one.

Or — instead of waiting for more steaming piles of explanations from Honest Ibe about how Islam is Peace — we could take sensible steps to defend Constitutionalism and genuine pluralism…Naaah! That would be “Islamophobic”!
