Egypt’s new opposition leader, former International Atomic Energy Agency head Mohamed ElBaradei, has formed a loose alliance with the Brotherhood because he knows it is the only opposition group that can mobilize masses of Egyptians, especially the poor. He says he can work with it to change Egypt. Many scholars of political Islam also judge the Brotherhood is the most reasonable face of Islamic politics in the Arab world today. Skeptics fear ElBaradei will be swept along by more radical forces.

Stunner. Muslim Brotherhood Announces They Will Support El-Baradei

The radical Muslim Brotherhood announced moments ago that they will support Mohamed ElBaradei to negotiate with the government.   Reuters reported (via GWP)

Mohamed Elbaradei, the former head of the International Atomic Energy Agency, has urged Hosni Mubarak, Egypt’s president, to step down.

Speaking to Al Jazeera, Elbaradei said the nation will collapse if Mubarak stays. (As far as I know, it has already collapsed, long ago….)

He said Egypt needs an enitrely different system of governance after 30 years of Mubarak-led rule.

An official at Cairo airport says 19 private jets carrying families of wealthy Egyptian and Arab businessmen have flown out of the capital. The official said the jets left Saturday carrying dozens of family members of Egypt’s business elite. He said most of the planes were headed for Dubai.

The insufferable Shrillary once again makes a laughing stock of America by completely ignoring the fact that no Arab-Muslim government recognizes the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. In fact, the UDoHR is replaced by the Cairo Declaration of Human Rights, which recognizes human rights merely under  sharia law, which is bad news for non-Muslims.

“All the rights and freedoms stipulated in this Declaration are subject to the Islamic Shari’ah”, and:
“The Islamic Shari’ah is the only source of reference for the explanation or clarification to any of the articles of this Declaration.”

Clinton’s statement comes on a day where protests are escalating across Egypt. A country-wide curfew has been imposed (and ignored), the ruling party’s headquarters were engulfed in flames, tanks are rolling after President Mubarak ordered the army into the streets, there are nearly constant “massive explosions” and the sound of shots being fired.

In a rigorously conducted face-to-face University of Maryland/  WorldPublicOpinion.org interview survey of 1000 Egyptian Muslims conducted between December 9, 2006 and February 15, 2007, 67% of those interviewed-more than 2/3, hardly a “fringe minority”-desired this outcome (i.e., “To unify all Islamic countries into a single Islamic state or Caliphate”). The internal validity of these data about the present longing for a Caliphate is strongly suggested by a concordant result: 74% of this Muslim sample approved the proposition “To require a strict [emphasis added] application of Shari’a law in every Islamic country.”

Yesterday Brigitte Gabriel said it on Hannity/Fox. Unfortunately I couldn’t locate the video, but I’m certain if we had a poll today the numbers would be even higher.

Brigitte Gabriel:

67 % of Egyptians are backing an Islamic caliphate, 74 %   back a full blown sharia state.

Is it any wonder that America’s Muslim POTUS backs “free and fair elections, pluralism and human rights” when the outcome is guaranteed?

Is the Media ‘Fair and Balanced’ on Christian Persecution?

The mainstream media (MSM) has just provided another example of how it ostracizes those who fail to tout its party-line. Context: the Washington Post’s On Faith blog posted an article dealing with Muslim-Christian relations, in light of recent attacks on Christians in the Muslim world. Regular contributors were invited to respond. The response of one of these, Willis E. Eliot, a retired dean of exploratory programs, New York Seminary, was rejected (Pajamas Media published it here). Up till then, for over three years, Eliot had been publishing almost weekly on that blog; this is his first contribution to be rejected in all that time.

What about it caused the Washington Post to jettison it? You see, the nonagenarian Eliot decided to make black and white—as opposed to postmodern, “there-are-no-truths”—observations. Consider some of his comments on the differences between Christianity and Islam:

Jesus said, “Love your enemies.” Islam, to the contrary, is essentially hostile to “the infidels”… Jesus was anti-violent, Muhammad was violent… Muslims become violent, or threaten violence, when they feel offended: when we Christians feel offended, almost never do we become violent, and almost always we suffer the disrespect in silence.”

Inasmuch as Eliot’s assertions are empirically demonstrative—scripturally, historically, and in current affairs (a la Koran-waving jihadists and persecuted Christians)—so too do they go against the one unwavering dogma clung to by the MSM: cultural relativism. Hence, the need to suppress them.
