In 2019 Bill Gates was saying that we had to stop cows from farting, eat fake meat, and get to net zero emissions globally to prevent climate catastrophe.

Today Gates said that we will never stop the climate from changing and that other things (such as feeding people) are just as important as emissions reduction. Imagine that.

Gates now thinks scientific innovation will curb any threats — real and perceived — to the planet’s climate and it’s instead time for a “strategic pivot” away from focusing on limiting rising temperatures to fighting poverty and preventing disease.

The Dutch Netherlands went to the polls on Wednesday in a snap national election brought by anti-mass-migration populist Geert Wilders as he seeks a fresh mandate to push through border control reforms.

Geert Wilders’ Party For Freedom (PVV) is projected to come first once votes are counted from Wednesday’s snap national election, but the burning question is whether it will be with enough seats and enough potential coalition partners to keep the left out of power.

The PVV came first in the previous national elections two years ago, but like many European nations, Dutch politics is fragmented, with no single party out of dozens competing for seats capable of dominating parliament. This leaves the formation of governments to delicate coalition-building that follows the vote, which can take many months. It can also create unusual results that, at first glance, appear to be against the will of the voters.

Despite that first-place position last time, Mr Wilders’ party had to go into government with three others, each with their own priorities. An early sign of coming instability, one demand of the supporting parties in return for supporting the coalition was that Mr Wilders himself — the leader of the largest party in the Dutch Parliament — could not be Prime Minister.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered airstrikes on Hamas positions in Gaza on Tuesday night after the terror organization staged a fake transfer of the body of one of the deceased hostages Monday.

Hamas is supposed to return 28 bodies under the terms of the ceasefire that went into effect earlier this month. It has only returned 15 thus far; 13 remain.

As Breitbart News reported, citing Israeli media and official sources, Hamas was caught on video digging a hole, putting human remains in it, then summoning the Red Cross to watch as it “retrieved” the remains.

The remains were transferred to Israel via the Red Cross in a coffin. Subsequent tests determined that the remains were those of a hostage who had been murdered two years ago and whose remains had been partially recovered by Israel in a special military operation.

Israeli government spokeswoman Shosh Bedrosian told journalists in a briefing that Israel believes Hamas knows the location of all of the remaining bodies; others report that nine of the 13 locations are known.

Regardless, the Hamas ruse infuriated Israelis, especially after two soldiers were killed in an unprovoked attack earlier this month. Israel decided to maintain the ceasefire at that point, but resumed attacks Tuesday.

Netanyahu’s office issued a terse statement to the press: “Following security consultations, Prime Minister Netanyahu has directed the military to immediately carry out forceful strikes in the Gaza Strip.”

Israel’s Army Radio reported that airstrikes had been carried out in central Gaza, in the area of Deir al-Balah.

The U.S. has not responded yet; President Donald Trump has said that Hamas would be destroyed if it did not comply with the terms of his 20-point plan, through which he hopes to build momentum for regional peace.

‘Immigration Stealing Our Civilization’ Zemmour Warns Amid Reports of Louvre Suspect’s Algerian Background

Former presidential candidate Éric Zemmour has cast blame on France’s open-door immigration system for the Crown Jewel heist at the Louvre Museum after reports emerged indicating that at least one of the suspects has an Algerian background.

On Saturday, French authorities arrested two men suspected of being involved in the sensational broad daylight robbery of the Louvre earlier this month. According to Le Monde, one of those arrested is a dual Algerian-French citizen, while the other is simply characterised as a French citizen. Neither has been named by police at the time of this reporting.

The arrests were made as one of the suspects was at Charles De Gaulle airport on the outskirts of Paris, reportedly attempting to flee to Algeria. The other was arrested in the multicultural Paris suburb of Seine-Saint-Denis while allegedly seeking to make his way to the West African nation of Mali. Both suspects are also known to police for prior involvement in “sophisticated thefts”.

Following the initial reports on the suspected bandits, Reconquête (Reconquest) party leader Éric Zemmour declared: “Here comes Algeria taking the stage in the theft at the Louvre Museum! Immigration is stealing the Crown Jewels from us. In short, our civilization.”
