Tommy Robinson is being kept in solitary confinement at a prison called HMP Woodhill. The judge didn’t sentence Tommy to solitary; that’s a decision made by the prison governor. 

And it’s illegal. Solitary confinement is a punishment meant for unruly convicts who commit more crimes in prison. Even murders don’t serve their sentences in solitary confinement.

BAMAKO, Mali (AP) – Nearly 70 migrants died when their boat sank as they tried to reach Spain earlier this month, Mali´s Minister for Malians Living Abroad said.

In a press release on Thursday, Mossa Ag Attaher announced that a migrant boat bound for Spain sank on Dec. 19. The migrants in this boat “numbered 80 at the start, with only 11 survivors,” according to the Ministry. The Malian authorities have identified nine Malians among the survivors, and “25 young Malians have unfortunately been formally identified among the victims,” the minister added.

  • Israeli forces have carried out attacks on two hospitals in northern Gaza, including a strike on the upper floor of al-Wafaa Hospital in Gaza City, which killed at least seven people and critically wounded others.
  • Nine Palestinians have been killed in Israeli shelling of the Nuseirat refugee camp.
  • Seven people were killed when Israeli forces attacked a home in Beit Hanoon.
  • Our colleagues at Al Jazeera Arabic are reporting that there have been renewed clashes between Palestinian Authority (PA) security forces and Palestinian fighters in the Jenin camp in the north of the occupied West Bank.
  • Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu underwent successful surgery on Sunday to have his prostate removed, officials at Jerusalem’s Hadassah Medical Centre said.
  • Concerns are rising about the safety of the director of Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahiya, Hussam Abu Safia, 51, who was arrested by Israeli forces during a raid on Friday. It is not known where he was taken.
  • The Israeli military says it “located and eliminated” 14 fighters in operations in Jabalia and Beit Lahiya.

This story of the IDF burning a hospital is all over the news, usually with the proviso “according to Gaza’s health ministry.” Countries are condemning Israel for burning the hospital. Officials and doctors are saying they saw it.
And yet in all the coverage, I cannot find a single photo or video of this burning!
It becomes clearer when you realize that the director of Kamal Adwan is a colonel in Hamas. It was built as a military hospital.

Yes, Israel raided the hospital looking for terrorists. Yes, they also had some activity outside the hospital. But there is zero evidence – zero – of any burning of the wards as described by the “witnesses.” Everyone has a cell phone with a camera, yet no one managed to capture the fires or the burned out rooms.
The same media needs verification of everything the IDF says, but none from Hamas. Which means that, objectively speaking, they trust terrorists more than Jews.
  • Israeli forces killed at least 36 Palestinians in attacks across Gaza on Saturday, according to the Wafa news agency, most of them in besieged northern areas of the enclave.
  • The World Health Organization (WHO) expressed deep concern over the fate of patients and medical staff detained by the Israeli military during its raid on the Kamal Adwan Hospital, including its director, Dr Hussam Abu Safia.
