“Moderate Jihad”: Syrians ‘Excited’ Over Public Executions

“They don’t just want justice to be done, they want to see it being done…”

After lauding how the overthrow of Assad in Syria would bring about “moderate jihad,” the BBC highlighted how thousands of ‘excited’ Syrians turned out to see a public execution.

Since Syrian rebel leader Abu Mohammed al-Jolani led his militants to topple Assad’s government, the legacy media has been busy rebranding al-Jolani and his cohorts as westernized and tolerant, with al-Jolani even adopting the rhetoric of corporate HR departments by declaring, “Diversity is a strength.”

Earlier this week, the BBC said that al-Jolani and his HTS fighters wanted to usher in a form of “moderate jihad,”despite the fact that the rebel leader was previously affiliated with ISIS and Al-Qaeda, was radicalized by 9/11, and previously planted roadside IEDs targeting US troops in Iraq.

Apparently, one manifestation of this “moderate jihad” is the lust for extrajudicial public executions.

Meanwhile, since the overthrow of Assad, innumerable horrific videos have emerged of Syrian rebel militants executing alleged Assad sympathizers in cold blood.

The main commander of the Syrian fighters who toppled Bashar al-Assad has warned that anyone involved in the torture or killing of detainees during the deposed president’s rule would be hunted down and pardons were out of the question.

“We will pursue them in Syria, and we ask countries to hand over those who fled so we can achieve justice,” Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) leader Ahmed al-Sharaa, also known as Abu Mohammed al-Julani, said in a statement published on the Syrian state TV’s Telegram channel on Wednesday.

In the past, progressive elites were not generally threatened by the campaigns of the old center and center-right parties because those groups have long been managed by fake conservatives with no intention of disturbing the deviation of the Overton Window to the radical left.  But of course, times have changed.  Legitimate opposition to the far-left is rising in the form of political parties fighting for secure borders and anti-wokeness initiatives, and the progressives are furious.

They’ve had a taste of near total power, and though they claim to be the patron saints of Democracy they are openly adopting authoritarian ideals in order to keep that power.  

In the US the far-left has been pursuing an all out propaganda war and has abused the legal system for years as a means to stop conservatives from returning to government.  The lawfare tactics utilized against Donald Trump were unprecedented, but ultimately failed.  In Europe, though, leftists are finding more success.
