French President Emmanuel Macron has suggested the imposition of a global taxation system in order to subsidise the green agenda to mitigate climate change.
Speaking at the Summit for a New Global Financing Pact in Paris on Friday, Mr Macron argued that actions from individual governments would be insufficient to deal with the alleged armageddon set to descend upon the world and therefore a new international taxation framework should be established.

Nuclear generation has increased in Sweden despite a vote 40 years ago to phase-out nuclear reactors.
Sweden has set a target to become carbon neutral by 2045. Electricity demand in the country is expected to reach 300 terawatt-hours by 2040.
“This creates the conditions for nuclear power development,” Finance Minister Elisabeth Svantesson said in parliament. “We need more electricity production, we need clean electricity and we need a stable energy system.”
This new target is just for fossil free electricity, not total “fossil free” energy use. Sweden still gets about 30% of all its energyfrom coal, oil and gas, and that is not about to change.

Last year a German court ruled that the far-right party posed a threat to democracy and allowed the country’s security services to monitor it.
A recent study by the German Institute for Human Rights examining the possibility of a ban on the Alternative for Germany (AfD) has once again put the far-right party in the spotlight.
The study published on June 7 states that the AfD now poses such a threat to the country’s democratic order “that it could be banned by the Federal Constitutional Court.”
According to the institute, the AfD could be legally banned because it explicitly aims to “eliminate the free democratic basic order” and “abolish the guarantee of human dignity enshrined in the Basic Law”.

The House Ways and Means Committee held a press conference after a vote to release information from an IRS whistleblower that showed the U.S. Justice Department involved in an effort to protect Hunter Biden, the son of Joe Biden, from outcomes related to his illegal money laundering operation.
According to the accusations, the money laundering was done in an effort to hide Hunter and Joe Biden selling influence and accepting payments from foreign government sources.
