Following a lengthy Welcome to Country at the five-star Westin Hotel in Perth on Wednesday, Mr Albanese described the ceremony as “wonderful”.
“It uplifted all of us, didn’t hurt anyone, it’s about bringing people together. And I thank Robin and her son for that very warm Welcome to her Country,” he said.
Mr Albanese attended a function by the Chamber of Minerals and Energy of Western Australia, where the Welcome to Country was given.
“From the north to the south, the east to the west, this is Whadjuk Country. You are welcome,” the speaker told the audience of major mining companies.
