With Colin Powell now repeating the lie that Barack Obama has “always been a Christian,” despite new information further confirming Obama’s Muslim childhood (such as the Indonesian school registration listing him as Muslim), one watches with dismay as the Democratic candidate manages to hide the truth on this issue.

Instead, then, let us review a related subject – Obama’s connections and even indebtedness, throughout his career, to extremist Islam. Specifically, he has longstanding, if indirect ties to two institutions, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), listed by the U.S. government in 2007 as anunindicted co-conspirator in a Hamas-funding trial; and the Nation of Islam (NoI), condemned by the Anti-Defamation League for its “consistent record of racism and anti-Semitism.”

Germany Discovers a War in Afghanistan

For years, Germans have preferred to see their country’s presence in Afghanistan as armed development assistance. That myth is now becoming more difficult to maintain as the violence spreads to the north where the Germans are based.

This attack killed a German soldier in Kabul. Recently, there have been an increasing number of attacks on Germans in northern Afghanistan.

KABUL, Afghanistan (Map, News) – An Afghan official says a suicide bomber in northern Afghanistan has killed two German soldiers and five children.

 

The governor of Kunduz province, Mohammad Omar, says two other German soldiers and two children were wounded in the blast Monday.

NATO confirms that some of its soldiers were killed and wounded in the attack in the province’s Chahar Dara district.

Omar says the soldiers were patrolling on foot when the bomber riding a bicycle hit them.

Jury clears Jack Thomas of terrorism charge

Melbourne man Jack Thomas has been found not guilty of intentionally receiving funds from al-Qaeda.

But Thomas, 35, was found guilty of possessing a falsified passport.

– Week-long trial
– Guilty on passport charge
– Emotional after verdict

The 12-member Victorian Supreme Court jury reached their verdict after two days of deliberation.
 
After the verdict was read out, an emotional Thomas climbed out of the dock to hug his crying hijabbed Muslim wife and mother.

Melbourne’s Telstra Dome will be known as Etihad Stadium from March.

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, is the official airline of the London-based Chelsea Football Club.

The airline’s chief executive, James Hogan, said the sponsorship was a five-year deal.

“Australia is a hugely important and rapidly growing market for our airline, and this deal provides an excellent opportunity to continue building our global brand and long-lasting relationships with the travelling public, many of whom we know are huge sports fans.”

Update: SEATTLE, Washington (CNN) — Clifton Mitchell helped register nearly 2,000 voters for the community group ACORN. But not one of them actually existed.

CHICAGO – Barack Obama has strong ties to a Chicago investment company that ripped off investors for a total of approximately $80 million. Sunrise Equities shut down in August when its CEO, Salman Ibrahim, and other top officers vanished. The money seems to have gone with them. Now, the Illinois Secretary of State and the FBI are investigating the scandal.

About 150 investors, mostly Muslim, learned in August that they had lost all of their savings to the Sunrise Equities fraud. Sunrise Equities, a shariah-compliant investment firm, targeted investors who were mostly Pakistani Muslim immigrants. Many the victims took out home-equity loans to make ends meet.

Sharia in the U.K.

Britain’s highest court allows a Lebanese woman to stay in Britain rather than lose her son. But they stress that only ‘flagrant’ human rights breaches will come within the law.

U.K.’s highest court: Sharia law is “arbitrary and discriminatory”

The case at hand concerns a woman who would have her child taken away from her under sharia law if she were to be repatriated to Lebanon. It is, of course, highly ironic that Britain itself has now imported the same set of issues into its own legal system by allowing rulings in domestic sharia courts to be legally binding. It may not be long before the high court must take up sharia rulings within the U.K. — an unfortunate and costly eventuality.

British police will offer new identities to victims of so-called “honour” violence in a bid to combat the crime that kills one person a month.

London’s Metropolitan Police said up to a dozen people were murdered annually in honour violence – defined by the police as crimes committed in a bid to protect family or communal honour.

Officers estimate a further 500 are forcibly married and then raped, attacked or falsely imprisoned. 

Do tell us, Agence France-Presse; who is responsible for these terrible acts? 

Typically, women are the victims of honour violence, which has been linked to certain interpretations of religious and cultural norms.
