A report from the UN’s committee on human rights hit out at Britain’s terror and libel laws and use of the Offical Secrets Act.

The UN said provisions under the Terrorism Act 2006 covering encouragement of terrorism are too “broad and vague” which could infringe on freedom of expression. Under the new law people convicted of encouragement of terrorism face up to seven years in jail even if they did not intend to incite violence.

In this Denmark is, of course, following the lead of the United States — and, like the United States, depriving itself of the principal key to understanding the jihadists. To avoid discussing or examining the Islamic element of today’s global jihad hinders our understanding of the jihadists’ motivations. Officials cannot investigate what they believe and why, much less strategize on the basis of such investigations, because that will lead us to examine elements of Islam’s theology of jihad that they would apparently rather ignore.

And the radio station complies. There is perhaps no one person that “radicals” despise as much as Father Zakaria Botros. I first described him and his ministry here (be sure to click on links that go to important video clips of him, with English subtitles). The problem Muslims have with Botros is that they simply cannot refute his “rants” and “hate speech,” for the simple reason that everything he says — no matter how scandalizing for Islam — is always based on Islamic sources. This article, for example, keeps demonizing Botros by suggesting that, out of the blue and with no evidence, Botros claims Muhammad had homosexual inclinations. Well, I just watched that show on the internet, and, even though his talk about Islam’s prophet was scandalous, it was also, nonetheless, totally derived from Islamic sources, particularly little known hadiths — all of which were certainly at least suggestive of homosexual behavior. And at any rate, I have rarely seen Botros claim anything about Islam; he only raises questions, based on Islam’s sources, and then invites Islam’s ulema to respond and “clarify” the matter. One- man cell, the new face of Al Qaeda terror

 

Washington , Aug 15 (ANI): The creation of one-man cell seems to be the new strategy of Al Qaeda terrorists.

* Well, don’t tell the FBI: unless they come with clear signs and have Al Qaeda written all over them there is just no way that single jihadists would get any credit for their activities. They are ‘loners’ or ‘psychologically disturbed people…. (like this Somali Muslim, call him Cyanide Mo)

According to the FoX News, intelligence officials have discovered an online Al Qaeda manual that prescribes that group leaders should training new recruits to operate as smaller cells around the globe.

The manual, called Method for Building the Personality of a Terrorist Mujahid and written by an Islamist forum contributor nicknamed “Shamil al-Baghdadi,” encourages militant followers to stop focusing on pulling off attacks on the scale of 9-11 and to start executing numerous smaller attacks.

If for some reason the mission fails, the Jihadi must not abort, but instead carry on alone, as a one-man cell, the paper quotes New York City Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly as saying while quoting from the manual.

A new congressional study has found that more than 20 Muslim nations deny entry to American and other foreign religious workers, WND has learned, even as the U.S. State Department grants entry to hundreds of clerics from their countries each year.

The United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and most other Middle Eastern countries still refuse to offer religious visas, they and deny entry to U.S. clergy as official policy, according to a report by the Law Library of Congress, the foreign legal research arm of the U.S. Congress. In a shocker, U.S. allies Afghanistan and Iraq also made the list of religious refuseniks.

“Of this group, the vast majority constitute Arab or Muslim states,” said Wendy Zeldin, senior legal research analyst for the Library of Congress.

“Since Islam prohibits proselytism by other religions, foreign religious workers will in effect be denied entry to conduct religious work,” Zeldin wrote in the three-page report, a copy of which was obtained by WND.

Baghdad: latest female suicide bomber kills 18, injures 75

BAGHDAD, Aug. 14 (Xinhua) — A female suicide bomber on Thursday killed at least 18 Shiite pilgrims on their way to the holy city of Karbala, an Iraqi police source said. 

The attack, near the town of Iskandariya, some 60 km south of Baghdad, also wounded 75 people, the source said on condition of anonymity.

Thousands of pilgrims were traveling to the holy city of Karbala, about 110 km south of the capital, to commemorate the birth in the 9th century of the Imam Muhammad al-Mahdi, last of 12most revered Shiites Imams.

The suicide blast was the most critical after three female attackers killed more than 24 and injured over 62 on July 28 during a Shiite pilgrimage gathering in Baghdad.

Violence has dramatically dropped in Iraq, the U.S. military said, hitting a four-year low.

But sporadic suicide or car bombing attacks are still haunting the Iraqis and creating remarkable casualties.

Meanwhile, suicide explosions staged by women have increased as they are less subject to check and suspicion.
